Abstract

Farmers Managed-Extension Activities (FMA) provides substantial benefits to the farming community empowerment, especially for the improvement of information services for farmers. Consider the benefits and objectives are achieved , then this great program requires rigorous evaluation and mentoring to monitor progress . Previous survey showed no understanding of the diversity of farmers’ level , the percentage decrease in the number of farmers who apply from 2010 (64.56 %) to the year 2011 (48.23 %), and parthnership between farmers and traders only 35.9 % (still small). On the other hand, there is saturation  analysis tools in studies on adoption. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the motivational factors of farmers against the FMA program. The method used in this research was models the Technology Acceptance Model using Structural Equation Models with analysis tools , namely PLS (Partial Least Square). The results showed (1) Perception of farmers to ease was not significantly related to the attitude of farmers towards FMA at a significance level of 0.43 (p value); (2) Perception of farmers on the benefits / uses significantly associated with attitudes of farmers towards FMA at the 0.01 level (p value), (3) ability to absorb farmers are not significantly related to the attitude of farmers towards FMA at a significance level of 0.48 (p value), (4) the diversity of the media associated significantly with the attitude of farmers towards FMA at the 0.01 signif- icance level (p value), (5) attitude significantly associated with implementing farmers ‘ intentions / FMA adoption at a significance level of 1.90539 E - 08 (p value), (6) intention farmers significantly associated with implementing farmers’ behavior/FMA adoption at a significance level of 3.14341 E - 08 (p value).Keywords : FMA, adoption, farmer,extension, empowerment

Abstract

Information is very important to reach purpose included for a farmer. The farmers tilling the farm which can only depend on rain water need information to survive, solve problems, lessen uncertainty, increase welfare, and to compete with other competitors. In accordance with the new paradigm in development and communication, the information presented by agricultural information organization should come from the need of information which is really felt by farmers. Being known from the previous study, the fact in the location of research indicates that agricultural extensions program was not really arranged with the farmers themselves or based on the need of  information of farmer. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to fins the farmers’ need of information. The method of research which is used qualitative approach and constructive paradigm. The result of research indicates that the information need by farmers are concerning cultivation, capitalization, marketing, the rule of government and agricultural extension.

Abstract

This research aimed to examine the relationship between the factors establishing the extension agents’ attitude to website cyber extension and the  extension agents’ affective attitude to website cyber extension as the source of agricultural extension information and to analyze the difference between Civil Servant Extension Agent’s and the THL-TBPP Extension agent’s affective attitudes to website cyber extension as the source of agricultural extension information. The fundamental method employed in this research was a descriptive quantitative method. The location of research in Karanganyar  Regency. The sample was taken using proportionate stratified random sampling method.The data was gotten by using questionnaire to 64 respondents passed observation, interview, and documentation. Data analysis that’s useRankSpearman’s and Mann-Whitney U tests. Considering the result of research, it could be seen that  majority respondents were 46-55 years old and graduated from formal education at S1 (graduate) level, the non-formal education level in very lowcategory, their personal experience in lowcategory, and other significant people’s effect was substantial. Meanwhile, the agricultural extension agent’s affective attitude to the quality of website cyber extensionin formation and design was good, and the extension agent’s affective attitude to the quality of website cyber extension use quality was poor. Considering the result of analysis, it could be found that there was a significant relationship between age, non-formal education, personal experience and other significant people’s effect, and the extension agent’s affective attitude to website cyber extension, but there was no significant relationship between formal education and the extension agents’ affective attitude to website cyber extension. Considering the result of Mann Whitney U test, it could be seen that there was a difference between Civil Servant Extension Agent’s and the THL Extension agent’s attitudes to website cyber extension as the source of agricultural extension information.

Abstract

Kopi memiliki nilai ekonomi yang tinggi sebagai penghasil devisa dan sumber pendapatan petani karena kopi merupakan salah satu komoditas unggulan di Indonesia. Kabupaten Temanggung salah satu penghasil kopi di Provinsi Jawa Tengah, terutama pada Kopi Robusta. Kopi Robusta Temanggung memiliki karakteristik dan mutu produk yang khas, unik dan tampil beda yang terindikasi karena faktor geografis. Hal ini dikarenakan adanya asosiasi petani yang tergabung pada Masyarakat Perlindungan Indikasi Geografis Kopi Robusta Temanggung (MPIG-KRT). MPIG-KRT berkomitmen dalam mengawal mutu kopi sesuai standar. Upaya ini dilakukan untuk meningkatkan daya saing petani kopi di Kabupaten Temanggung dengan upaya didorong untuk menjalankan budidaya dan pengolahan pasca panen kopi berbasis Indikasi Geografis (IG) Kopi Robusta Temanggung (KRT). Guna menjaga mutu kopi, meningkatkan daya saing, dan memperkuat Brand Image Kopi Robusta Temanggung, maka dilakukan program pengabdian terutama bertujuan untuk memberikan pendampingan petani kopi agar dapat 1) menjalankan pengolahan pasca panen berbasis IG dengan introduksi mesin grading, 2) dapat menjalankan digital marketing dengan tujuan memperluas pangsa pasar sehingga mampu meningkatkan hasil penjualan dan keuntungan, dan 3) memiliki pengetahuan tentang merek dan label merek guna membangun brand Kopi Robusta Temanggung. Program pengabdian ini telah dilaksanakan melalui kegiatan pelatihan yang terdiri dari pelatihan pascapanen, pelatihan digital marketing, dan pelatihan edukasi merek dan desain label merek. Selain itu, dilakukan pula introduksi mesin grading setelah dilakukan pelatihan pascapanen. Kegiatan pengabdian ini telah berhasil dilakukan dilihat adanya introduksi Mesin Grading sehingga petani mitra dapat melakukan proses grading dengan cepat dan bisa menentukan mutu dari grade kopi 1, 2, dan 3. Petani mitra telah memahami pentingnya merek dan desain label yang dapat dilihat dari adanya kemasan produk kopi yang sudah memiliki merek, informasi produk, dan kemasan yang baik untuk menjaga mutu kopi. Petani mitra sudah mulai menggunakan WhatsApps bisnis, Instagram, dan Facebook untuk promosi. Petani mitra juga sudah bisa membuat promosi dengan menggunakan Canva, lalu membuat link pesan Auto Order.

Abstract

Cyber Extension has an important role to play in helping agricultural counsellors carry out their duties in this digital age. Initial surveys at the research site showed only 15% of Agricultural Extension Centers (BPP) adopted Cyber Extension. Information regarding the overall adoption of PPL is not yet clearly known. The study of adoption and the factors that influence the adoption of PPL is very important known. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the influence among cyber extension adoption variables within the framework of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) model. This research is classified as explanatory research with quantitative approach. Sampling technique using simple random sampling that was number of 140 people PPL Civil Servants and THL. The influence test between variables (hypothetical test) is conducted with t-test with a confidence level of 95% (α = 0.05). The results showed there were 8 accepted hypotheses (significant effect) and 2 rejected hypotheses (insignificant effect).

Abstract

Coffee is a superior commodity in Temanggung Regency. Post-harvest processing affects the quality of a coffee product. The Robusta Temanggung Coffee Geographical Indication Standard governs the standard of processing. This research aims to analyze the attitude of robusta coffee farmers towards GIs based coffee processing standards. The study uses a descriptive method. The respondents were 80 robusta coffee farmers in Temanggung Regency. Questionnaires are structured using a Likert scale. The data collection using random sampling techniques. The data analysis using the scoring method. The results showed that farmers had a good attitude towards GIs-based coffee processing standards, agreeing to GIs based sorting, drying, and storage processes. Farmers have not been motivated to measure coffee bean water content according to GIs standards due to facility constraints. Intensive education, motivation, facilities, and mentoring are required for farmers to implement GIs-based coffee processing standards.

Abstract

Kelompok Batik (tulis)“Mutiara 1" dan “Mutiara 2" adalah adalah kelompok usaha batik tulis yang masing-masing beranggotakan 10 orang wanita tani yang baru bebas dari buta huruf (tindak lanjut dari program pasca keaksaraan fungsional/buta huruf). Kelompok ini berlokasi di Desa Wonolopo Kecamatan Tirtomoyo sudah terbentuk mulai Tahun 2011. Usaha batik tulis yang dikelola selama ini belum dikembangkan potensinya sebagai produk sandang yang kompetetitif dan bernilai ekonomis dengan mengikuti kaidah Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), seperti penggunaan berbagai alat teknologi tepat guna untuk membatiksehingga selama ini kelompok hanya menjual dalam bentuk batik mentah dengan harga yang relatif murah yaitu berkisar antara Rp 75.000,- sampai Rp 80.000,-, sementara harga batik yang sudah di finishing seharga Rp 250.000 sampai Rp 300.000,-. Perlu pendampingan kelompok tersebut agar pendapatan meningkat. Kegiatan pendampinganyang telah dilakukan adalah pelatihan finishing batik tulis, introduksi alat finishing batik, pameran (expo), dan pendampingan yang dilakukan dengan beberapa teknik pendekatan.

Abstract

Persaingan pasar dalam agribisnis kopi robusta semakin ketat. Karakteristik mutu kopi yang khas, unik dan tampil beda yang terindikasi karena pengaruh faktor geografis dapat dimanfaatkan untuk meningkatkan daya saing. Indikasi Geografis (IG) memiliki peranan penting untuk menarik minat konsumen dengan cara memberikan nilai tambah dan keunikan pada komoditas kopi. Namun, adopsi IG oleh petani kopi relatif rendah, demikian halnya adopsi IG oleh petani kelompok MPIG Kopi Robusta Kabupaten Temanggung. Edukasi mengenai manfaat, proses, kendala dalam adopsi IG diperlukan untuk memotivasi petani kopi dalam adopsi IG. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memotivasi petani kopi dalam adopsi standar mutu berbasis IG melalui edukasi IG. Metode yang digunakan antara lain pelatihan, studi banding dan pendampingan adopsi IG. Hasil kegiatan pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa petani telah memahami manfaat dan kendala serta tahapan proses panen dan pasca panen berbasis IG. Melalui studi banding ke P4S Semarang, petani kopi juga termotivasi mengadopsi IG. Kegiatan pendampingan yang dilakukan oleh tim dan pemerintah mendorong petani semakin antusias dalam mengadopsi IG.

Abstract

Sukoharjo memiliki lahan kering yang cukup luas yaitu mencapai 30 hektar pada tahun 2020 dan meningkat dari tahun-tahun sebelumnya. Khas lahan kering yang hanya mengandalkan air hujan menyebabkan produktivitas lahan kering menjadi kurang optimal dan tidak dapat dimanfaatkan sepanjang tahun. Akibatnya petani di lahan kering sering diidentikkan dengan pendapatan rendah dan kemiskinan. Cabai rawit menjadi salah satu alternatif yang menjanjikan sebagai komoditas usaha bagi petani, jika dibekali dengan keterampilan mengenai teknologi budidaya dan manajemen agribisnis cabai yang baik. Desa Cabeyan sebagai salah satu kawasan lahan kering berpotensi menjadi start up agribisnis cabai. Keberadaan sumur sibel di wilayah tersebut mendukung pasokan air yang berkelanjutan sebagai kebutuhan mutlak untuk produksi cabai. Selama ini petani lokal hanya bisa mengolah lahan untuk menanam padi dengan mengandalkan musim hujan yang berlangsung sekitar 4-5 bulan dalam setahun, 7-8 bulan tersisa untuk 'bero'. Dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya latar belakang pengalaman petani dalam membudidayakan cabai dan terbukanya peluang usaha cabai, maka keterampilan petani harus ditingkatkan. Metode kegiatan meliputi pelatihan, pengenalan Teknologi Tepat Guna, dan pendampingan. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan petani dalam budidaya cabai. Meski belum bercocok tanam di lahan sendiri, petani tetap semangat belajar melalui praktik langsung di lahan yang dikelola petani dengan pendampingan tim pengabdian.
