Abstract

Noise is an environmental problem that needs to be addressed because it not only disturbs comfort but also causes hearing health problems. One of the ways to deal with noise is by installing sound absorbing materials. Sound absorbers commonly used are rockwool or glasswool. However, these materials are quite expensive. Therefore, various types of sound absorbing materials that are cheap and environmentally friendly, namely coconut coir and rice straw. The material made is a circle with a diameter of 100 mm and a thickness of 10 mm. The variation used is the ratio of the quantity of coconut coir and rice straw with gypsum. The variations of the coconut coir and rice straw materials used are 15 grams, 25 grams, and 35 grams. Meanwhile, 400 mL of gypsum is used. Both materials were tested to obtain the sound attenuation coefficient value. The best results obtained from the test are a mixture of coconut coir and gypsum with a sound attenuation coefficient of 0.45.

Abstract

Rice is the staple food most consumed by Indonesians which is produced from milling dry unhusked rice grain. In the dry unhusked rice grain milling process, rice has different forms, namely whole and cracked rice. This is due to the poor quality of the paddy rice. The different in forms has led to a different selling value. Whole rice is more expensive than the other. Therefore, sorting was done to obtain the differences. This study was carried out to build rice sorting device with a system in the form of a launch crank mechanism as a vibration system. This device has several components consisting of two mesh and two turnbuckle eye & eye as the sieve tilt adjustment. In the tilt experiment, two variations of the angle were obtained, namely an angle of 10° and an angle of 15°. This device uses a single-phase electric motor as the driving force of the launching crankshaft. The transmission system uses a pulley and a v-belt from a single-phase electric motor that is passed to the pulley. From the test results that have been carried out two-angle variations with a capacity of 10 kg. At an angle of 15°, 69% pure rice is obtained with less optimal results because the slope of the angle is too steep. Whereas at an angle of 10°, the yield of pure rice is 85% which has a less angular slope so that the sorting of rice is maximized.

Abstract

The low demand for vocational education graduates has led to high unemployment. The low demand for vocational education graduates has led to high unemployment. Vocational college graduates still need to be commensurate with industrial needs. Many Senior High School, Vocational High School, and Vocational College graduates have not been able to find a job for more than six months. Conditions on Madura island worsened this, and the lack of accelerated industrialization even after the Suramadu Bridge was built. Madura has the lowest Human Development Index (HDI) score in East Java. Data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) Sampang in Figures 2021) shows that the HDI value in 2020 only increased by 0.76 from 2019 of 62.70. Politeknik Negeri Madura (Poltera) together with PT. United Tractors and LSP ABI want to take an active role in improving Madura's HDI by preparing human resources on heavy equipment mechanics through the development of a centre of excellence for technology (PUT) of Heavy Equipment (CHE). Using the causal-comparative method, the researcher observed the impact of each stage on PUT-CHE development activities and reviewed the data to find causal factors and correlations. Poltera took a strategic step by equipping lecturers with virtual training on heavy equipment mechanics (SOBAT Program), organized by PT United Tractors. The SOBAT program has positively impacted heavy equipment engineering graduates in 2022, which has increased significantly. Academic data showed that 13 out of 34 heavy equipment mechanical engineering graduates were employed in leading heavy equipment industries before three months. Other data stated that three lecturers participating in Virtual Training on heavy equipment mechanics were selected as 50 interns at PT United Tractors.

Abstract

The frequency of using heavy equipment that exceeds capacity often occurs in construction projects. This can cause components to fail or wear out as in track link pin components. Therefore, this study aims to obtain a good quality of heat treatment using quenching and tempering methods, to the hardness values of AISI 1045 and AISI 1037 steels for replace the track link pin components of Excavator 305.5E2. In this study, the method of heat treatment is hardening with a temperature of 800℃. After that it is cooled quickly using water and oil media. After that, the specimens were tempered based on differences in holding times of 30, 35, 40 minutes. Specimens that have been heat treated will be tested using a hardness test using the Vickers method. From the results of this study, it was found that the effect of the cooling medium and holding time on the hardness value of AISI 1045 steel. At a holding time of 30 minutes the hardness value was 41.5 HRC. Meanwhile, in water media at a holding time of 30 minutes, the hardness value is 32.2 HRC.

Abstract

Painting is a process of applying paint in liquid form to an object, to create a thin layer which then creates a hard layer or layer of paint. The function of painting itself is to give a layer to an object so that the object's lifespan can be longer. Attachment of paint to the surface can be done in many ways, wiping, smearing, brushing, spraying, dipping or in other ways. Attachment of paint by spraying is the paint attachment that is most often found in automotive painting workshops. Apart from that, attaching paint by spraying is easier in adjusting the area where painting will be carried out, the results are also good if done correctly. The quality of good painting results is influenced by many factors such as skills, materials used, etc., while determining good painting results is based on several factors, such as surface roughness, gloss power, etc. The hardness of the painting results is also greatly influenced by the percentage of hardener mixture in the paint mixture. The paint in question here is color paint (top coat). This research is to determine the best percentage of clearcoat in the painting process by testing the hardness of the painting results. The results obtained by varying the percentage of the mixture in the best clearcoat are in the percentage variations of 100 (Base): 55 (Hardener) + Thiner or Solvent (10% of Base) is 83.49 H, 100 (Base): 55 (Hardener) + Thiner or Solven (10% of Base) is 82.99 H, 100 (Base) : 45 (Hardener) + Thiner or Solven (10% from Base) is 82.51 H and the lowest is the variation 100 (Base): 60 (Hardener) + Thiner or Solvent (10% of Base) namely 79.57 H. Abstract

Competition in the industrial world after the impact of Covid-19 has become fierce competition. Many companies choose to increase effectiveness and efficiency by implementing digitalization in production and sales activities. PT. Megarhizo Ega Persada is a company that is developing, a company whose main production is liquid organic fertilizer under the brand "Megarhizo". Production activities still use manual bookkeeping processes. So it takes a long time for distribution from the warehouse to the production location. Miscalculations often occur in warehouses resulting in inappropriate production targets, due to insufficient or expired materials due to being in the warehouse for too long. This problem often occurs because the recording process is not thorough and results in stock buildup or stock shortages in the warehouse. So we need a system that can easily and quickly manage data so that these things don't happen again. Digitalization of the sales process is a solution to this problem, fertilizer products are products that are different from other production, because fertilizer is a product that is monitored so the price of fertilizer should not burden the public. By digitizing sales, companies can directly monitor stock and products sold from each distribution location to the resellers. So the number of products sold and prices can still be monitored, besides that the company can also find out the effectiveness of fertilizer production.
