Abstract

Rice is the staple food most consumed by Indonesians which is produced from milling dry unhusked rice grain. In the dry unhusked rice grain milling process, rice has different forms, namely whole and cracked rice. This is due to the poor quality of the paddy rice. The different in forms has led to a different selling value. Whole rice is more expensive than the other. Therefore, sorting was done to obtain the differences. This study was carried out to build rice sorting device with a system in the form of a launch crank mechanism as a vibration system. This device has several components consisting of two mesh and two turnbuckle eye & eye as the sieve tilt adjustment. In the tilt experiment, two variations of the angle were obtained, namely an angle of 10° and an angle of 15°. This device uses a single-phase electric motor as the driving force of the launching crankshaft. The transmission system uses a pulley and a v-belt from a single-phase electric motor that is passed to the pulley. From the test results that have been carried out two-angle variations with a capacity of 10 kg. At an angle of 15°, 69% pure rice is obtained with less optimal results because the slope of the angle is too steep. Whereas at an angle of 10°, the yield of pure rice is 85% which has a less angular slope so that the sorting of rice is maximized.

Abstract

The low demand for vocational education graduates has led to high unemployment. The low demand for vocational education graduates has led to high unemployment. Vocational college graduates still need to be commensurate with industrial needs. Many Senior High School, Vocational High School, and Vocational College graduates have not been able to find a job for more than six months. Conditions on Madura island worsened this, and the lack of accelerated industrialization even after the Suramadu Bridge was built. Madura has the lowest Human Development Index (HDI) score in East Java. Data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) Sampang in Figures 2021) shows that the HDI value in 2020 only increased by 0.76 from 2019 of 62.70. Politeknik Negeri Madura (Poltera) together with PT. United Tractors and LSP ABI want to take an active role in improving Madura's HDI by preparing human resources on heavy equipment mechanics through the development of a centre of excellence for technology (PUT) of Heavy Equipment (CHE). Using the causal-comparative method, the researcher observed the impact of each stage on PUT-CHE development activities and reviewed the data to find causal factors and correlations. Poltera took a strategic step by equipping lecturers with virtual training on heavy equipment mechanics (SOBAT Program), organized by PT United Tractors. The SOBAT program has positively impacted heavy equipment engineering graduates in 2022, which has increased significantly. Academic data showed that 13 out of 34 heavy equipment mechanical engineering graduates were employed in leading heavy equipment industries before three months. Other data stated that three lecturers participating in Virtual Training on heavy equipment mechanics were selected as 50 interns at PT United Tractors.

Abstract

Engine trainer merupakan alat bantu untuk menopang suatu mesin tertentu agar memudahkan operator dalam melakukan pekerjaan perawatan. Jurusan Teknik Mesin Alat Berat di Politeknik Negeri Madura dalam kegiatan belajar mengajarnya juga melakukan kegiatan perawatan. Adanya alat bantu engine trainer tentunya mempermudah mahasiswa dan dosen dalam mengakses bagian-bagian mesin. Pembuatan rangka engine trainer tentunya harus kokoh untuk dapat menopang mesin Mitsubishi Canter 110PS yang bobotnya mencapai 400 kg. Sambungan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah sambungan las. Metode pengelasan yang digunakan adalah metode las SMAW. Analisis pengaruh variasi arus dan electroda dilakukan dalam penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kekuatan pengelasan dan cacat permukaan yang terjadi karena adanya las. Variasi arus yang digunakan adalah 70 A, 80 A dan 90 A. Sedangkan variasi elektroda yang digunakan adalah E6013 dan E7016. Hasil yang didapat dari penelitian ini adalah tidak ada cacat permukaan setelah dilakukan pengelasan. Selain itu didapatkan tegangan bending terbesar pada variasi elektroda E6013 dengan kuat arus 90 A sebesar 35,52 MPa.

Abstract

GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding), which is a solid or tubular welding electrode that is fed continuously mechanically from a roll of electrode wire inside the welding machine. The electrode is fed via a gun or torch by maintaining the height of the arc formed between the tip of the electrode wire and the material being welded or the base metal. GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) is MAG (Metal Active Gas) and MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding which is very efficient and fast in the process.Low carbon steel contains less than 0.3% carbon in the carbon steel mixture. Low carbon steel cannot be hardened because the carbon content is not enough to form a martensite structure. Welded joints are material or plate joints that are used for the welding process with the aim of getting maximum penetration from the joint.In this research, we are looking at the effect of the GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) welding process with MIG (Metal Inert Gas) type on ST-42 steel by varying the V seam angle with a stick out height of 5 mm on the mechanical properties in the HAZ area.The hardness value before the welding process at an angle of 15 is in the HAZ area of 30.03 HRD for corners 30 and 45 is 32.51 HRD and 33.98 HRD, while for the impact strength at an angle of 15 is 0.2725 J/mm2, an angle of 30  and 45 namely 0.2439 J/mm2 and 0.2320 J/mm2 Keywords: Welding, HAZ (Heat Affected Zone), Impact Strength, Hardness
