Abstract

The household or family is a place for children to maximize their growth and development and fulfilltheir nutrition, to create high-quality human resources and to drive the country’s economic growth for thefuture. This study aims to examine factors of household socioeconomic characteristics, dietary diversity, andthe environment and their effects on the nutritional status of children under five in Indonesia. This study usescross-sectional design and uses secondary data from Indonesia Family Live Survey (IFLS) wave 5 (IFLS5). IFLSis a longitudinal survey of a random sample of 83% of the population in Indonesia in 1993. The sample in thisstudy was children aged 0-60 months (toddlers), totaling 4,670 children under five. The research method is touse a multinomial logistic regression model. The results showed that the nutritional status of children under fiveyears old was affected by family income, mother’s education, the gender of children under five, residential areas,access to drinking water and good sanitation. The conclusion is that the mother’s education has a significantinfluence on the three nutritional status of children under five, namely wasted, severely wasted, and overweight.

Abstract

Abstract—The purpose of this research is to find out the role of E-commerce and digital literacy of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (UMKM) in Madiun district in helping the sale of their products during the covid-19 pandemic. This research is expected to help increase the participation of UMKM. This study uses qualitative descriptive research method with the population of UMKM in Madiun. The determination of samples in this study by the purposive sampling method. The data From 100 respondents was collected by field observation and supported by the dissemination of questionnaires. The collected data is analyzed descriptively-qualitatively. From the results of the analysis obtained that 71% of respondents can use and operate digital devices properly and use digital devices every day in daily life even during the Covid-19 pandemic. This shows that most actors UMKM has good digital literacy. Some of the respondents do sales or promotion of their products by not using E-commerce facilities but are more likely to use through direct sales that is offline. A total of 53% of respondents used E-commerce to help sales of their products and said that E-commerce helped UMKM during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Village fund is state budget allocated to all villages in Indonesia. This fund is used to finance rural administrative government, rural development, rural empowerment and community development. One of the Village Fund Allocation’s (Alokasi Dana Desa/ADD’s) goals is to reduce poverty and inequality as well as to improve community welfare. Poverty alleviation is a global action under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This research is aimed to analyze the impact of Village Funds on community welfare by employing the intervening variable poverty levels in Central Java Province. Secondary data from 29 districts in Central Java were used in this research. This was a quantitative research which employed Path Analysis Method. The independent variable in this research was Village Fund and the dependent variable was community welfare which utilized poverty as the intervening variable. Based on the Path Analysis Method, this research found that Village Fund had no impact on community welfare in Central Java province. However, through indirect path analysis, it was found that Village Fund had an impact on community welfare in terms of poverty level. This finding showed that Village Fund had a direct impact on reducing poverty level, and the poverty level affected the community welfare in Central Java accordingly.

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the pattern of the industrial spatial concentration and its stability in Central Java between 2000 and 2013. Industrial spatial concentration analysis is conducted in the Provincial Coordination Board (Bakorwil) in Central Java Province. This study employed the industrial concentration ratio and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The data of employment of the National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas) were used to examine the industrial concentration in the province. This research found that industries in Central Java province concentrated on agriculture and manufacturing. The agricultural industry is a resource-based industry spatially concentrated in regencies. The manufacturing industry is a foot-loose industry, which does not have specific location patterns. In other words, the industry can be located in both regencies and cities. Service industries such as trade, communications, and finance industries are spatially concentrated in the cities because they are market-oriented. Finally, the competitiveness of tobacco manufacturing industry (Code: 160) in Kudus, the industry of wood products, and woven goods from rattan, bamboo and other similar materials (Code: 202) in Kebumen, furniture industry (Code: 361) in Jepara, and mobile retail trading/outside building (Code: 525) in Tegal City sustained in the past ten years.Keywords: Industrial Spatial Concentration, Bakorwil in Central Java Province, Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

Abstract

This study concerns with labour market in Indonesia, an labour-abundant country, considering the impact of trade liberalization on inequalities. It focuses on the transmission of ASEAN intra-trade on inequalities through the changing of the relative price of skilled and unskilled labour. This study relies on manufacturing survey data collecting information of more than 24 thousand firms classified under 13 sectors of Harmonized System (HS). The estimation shows that international trade has contribution on wage differentials in the Indonesian labour market. Lower tariffs are associated with widen wage differentials between skilled and unskilled workers in the Indonesian manufacturing industries.Keywords: Trade Liberalization, Labor Market, Skill Inequalities, Indonesia

Abstract

Pengalaman bekerja di negara-negara maju dengan teknologi yang canggih seharusnya bisa menjadikan eks pekerja migran menjadi lebih adaptif dengan penggunaan teknologi digital dan bisa meningkatkan keterampilan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji faktor penentu pengusaha eks pekerja migran mengadopsi teknologi digital dan pengaruh adopsi teknologi digital terhadap kinerja usaha yang dilihat dari beberapa faktor yakni factor demografi, factor bisnis, dan factor COVID-19. Studi ini meneliti 638 pelaku usaha yang masuk dalam Survei Angkatan Kerja Nasional (SAKERNAS) Kabupaten Cilacap periode Agustus 2022 menggunakan metode regresi logistik. Temuan penelitian ini adalah pelaku usaha eks pekerja migran lebih adaptif dalam penggunaan teknologi digital dan adopsi teknologi digital berpngaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja wirausaha. Temuan lainya ialah pelaku usaha eks pekerja migran tidak lebih produktif dibandingkan pelaku usaha non eks pekerja migran. Implikasi kebijakan dari penelitian ini adalah penguatan kemampuan penggunaan teknologi digital melalui literasi singkat terutama kepada pelaku usaha eks pekerja migran yang masih berpendidikan rendah. Selain itu pemberdayaan eks pekerja migran tidak hanya dilakukan di Indonesia, tetapi pentingnya regulasi agar terjadi transfer pengetahuan dan teknologi digital khususnya dari negara tujuan migran.
