Breast cancer occurs due to abnormal, uncontrolled, and irregular cellular growth in the breast. The management of breast cancer includes surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, hormonal therapy, immunotherapy, and bone marrow manipulation. The physical impacts of chemotherapy include sleeping problems and fatigue. The non-pharmacological efforts to relieve this fatigue include progressive muscle relaxation (PMR). The research objective was to determine the effect of Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) on the level of fatigue in breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. The research design was a pre-experimental one group pre-posttest design. The population is breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy as many as 35 patients. The number of respondents is 35 respondents. The sampling technique used is total sampling. The research instrument used is the Fatigue Assessment Scale (FAS). The test used is the Wilcoxon test. The results showed that there was an effect of Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) on the level of fatigue in breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy with a p value = 0.000 (<0.05). The research recommendation is Progressive Muscle relaxation (PMR) intervention as a non-pharmacological intervention to reduce the fatigue level of breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy in health services.

This study aims to determine the relationship between body image and self-efficacy in breast cancer patients. The study was conducted at Dr. Kariadi Central Public Hospital Semarang, with a sample size of 63 respondents. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, where subjects were selected based on inclusion criteria set by the researcher. The instruments used in this research were the Body Image Scale and the General Self-Efficacy Scale. This study employs quantitative methods with a cross-sectional research design. Based on the Spearman rank statistical test, the p-value was 0.000 (<0.05), indicating that Ha is accepted, and Ho is rejected. This shows that there is a significant correlation between body image and self-efficacy in breast cancer patients at Dr. Kariadi Central Public Hospital Semarang. It is hoped that the recommendations from the research results can enhance nursing knowledge related to body image and self-efficacy in breast cancer patients.

The number of samples in this study was 71 respondents with data collection techniques using purposive sampling. The statistical test used is the Spearman rank test. The results of the research show that there is a relationship between spiritual support and the level of anxiety in type 2 diabetes mellitus sufferers at the Tlogosari Wetan Community Health Center in 2024 with a significant p value = 0.001 and a correlation coefficient r value (– 0.402). It was concluded that the strength of the relationship between spiritual support and the level of anxiety is a moderate relationship, namely in the range 0.40 - 0.599 with a negative correlation direction, which means that the higher the spiritual support, the lower the level of anxiety.

Abstract

Breast cancer is when cells lose their ability to run mechanisms as they should and function normally. The global prevalence of breast cancer is 2.3 million women diagnosed with the disease. The side effects of treatment and the cancer itself often cause fatigue, one of the most common complaints of breast cancer patients. The most common management is a non-pharmacological therapy of Benson relaxation and lavender aromatherapy to manage fatigue. This quasi-experimental research determined the influence of Benson relaxation and lavender aromatherapy on fatigue in breast cancer patients with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. This study involved a total of 31 breast cancer patients, selected through a purposive sampling technique. The Wilcoxon test found a p-value of 0.014 (<0.05), indicating the effect of Benson relaxation and lavender aromatherapy collaboration toward fatigue in breast cancer patients. Nurses anticipate the application of this research to manage patients' fatigue levels, while non-pharmacological therapeutic research could potentially lower fatigue rates in other chronic diseases by incorporating new variables and extending therapy duration for a more substantial impact.
