Abstract

Sensorless technology is one of the popular topic in motor industry. The aim is to reduce number of sensor and sensor size in the system. One of the method to achieve this sensor-less application of a motor is thru transduction matrix method. Transduction matrix is a 2x2 matrix that show the relationship between electrical input and mechanical output  of the motor. By obtaining the transduction matrix of a chosen motor, the mechanical output of the motor can be calculated from its electrical input. This paper explains the theory behind and the method to obtain the transduction matrix of a DC motor. The DC motor is chosen because it is the common motor in industry.

Abstract

Abstract

Tofu industry, which consider as a small and medium scale industry (UMKM), use a lot of water in its production process. In order to increase its profit, they need to increase the efficiency of clean water usage. One method is through recycling the wastage water into a clean water so it can be used in the production process. In order to recycle the wastage water, people make use of a passive filter to reduce the dissolved solid and acidity in wastage water so it can be similar with fresh water. From the results of our experiment, an average of 30 litres of recycled water can be used in the production process which reflect to increment efficiency of 5% per day in production process. Therefore, as an impact of the economy, this water recycling process will reduce the production cost of making tofu using of recycled water. And from the social aspect it affects the reduction of fresh water from the ground and reduce odours that will occur in environment.

Abstract

Sweet potatoes are the third staple food in Indonesia after rice and corn. Sweet potatoes do not have different harvest periods and there are many types, including sweet potatoes (Ipomoea batatas L) and cassava (Manihot esculenta), resulting in differences in physical and chemical properties. In this research, experiments were carried out using the Laser Induced Shockwave Plasma Spectroscopy (LISPS) technique using an Nd-YAG laser (1064 nm, 10 Hz) operated in Q-Switch mode on dried cassava and sweet potato samples. Research was conducted to identify and compare the chemical element content of the two sweet potato samples. The sample is placed in a chamber made of metal where the air pressure can be vacuumed and varied with a vacuum pump. Plasma is generated by focusing a laser beam (pulse) on the sample surface with a focusing lens through a window. Plasma radiation is detected using a spectrometer equipped with optical fiber. Plasma radiation is detected using a spectrometer equipped with optical fiber. The results obtained from the blood sample were the detection of elements namely calcium (Ca), sodium (Na), and magnesium (Mg).

Abstract

Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) has proven to be a versatile and effective technique for elemental analysis across a variety of fields, including geology, archaeology, materials science, nuclear power, and medicine. This study focuses on the application of an external electric field to enhance the performance of LIBS, specifically for non-metal samples such as black coral. By introducing an electric field and varying laser energy levels, the effects on plasma generation and emission intensities were investigated. The experimental results demonstrate that applying an electric field significantly enhances spectral intensity, with notable improvements in the Carbon (C I) emission line at 247.8 nm. The enhancement was observed to be nonlinear, with significant increases only when the electric field strength exceeded 200 V/cm. Laser energy was also found to play a critical role, with carbon signals only detectable at energies above 20 mJ, and optimal results achieved at 50 mJ. These findings highlight the combined effect of laser energy and electric field strength in enhancing LIBS sensitivity, particularly for detecting trace elements in organic samples. This approach offers a simple, efficient, and effective method to improve LIBS performance, with potential applications in fields such as fossil age determination and other analytical studies requiring high sensitivity.

Abstract

Sleeps disorders are a common disease overlooked by many people. Sleep disorder have many types and kinds and often associated with other severe illness such as diabetes, stroke, obesity and many others. Sleep monitors are one of many ways to read all parameters related to sleep and detect sleep disorders the subject has, however access to sleep monitor still expensive and tough to come by. Because of that accessibility, countless development of home sleep monitor occured around the world. However, most of that device still hard to operate and some of them gives error readings of parameters. Based on this, a portable low-cost home sleep monitor was developed using Wemos D1 mini as a microcontroller, MAX30102 as an oxygen level sensor, MPU6050 as an accelerometer, DS18B20 as a breathing flow sensor, and MAX9814 as a microphone. Each of the sensors read and give value to microcontroller and store the data to cloud and display the result in user’s gadget. The aim of this development is to detect sleep disorders associated with each reading of sensors used and determine sleep quality as an early detection of symptoms before referring to professional relaled to sleep disorders or doctors.
