What was the shape and pattern of the house layout of the Butonese people? (2). What was the meaning of the traditional house architecture of the Butonese people? The data were obtained through a series of interviews, non-participant observation, and document review. All data were analyzed through some stages: formulation of questions, making descriptive narratives, data reduction, application, and interpretation, then concluding. Based on an analysis of the research problem, the following conclusions were obtained: (1). The shape of the Buton house had an aesthetic meaning related to belief or the dimension of religiosity, in this case, Islam; (2). The patron or pattern of the Butonese house building had become part of their system of thinking, so that eventually it became something standards, such as the standard of spatial structure, shape, structure, and ornamentation. In subsequent developments, there appeared to be an internal effort by the Butonese to provide a new perspective on the meaning of the Buton house, leading to interpretations oriented to Islamic values. The form of houses on stilts as depicted in malige and kamali by the local community was interpreted as a replica of a Muslim performing the prayer ritual. The model of a tiled roof was analogous to the composition or position when he was praying, where the place of the right hand was above the left hand. Whereas in the perspective of political power, the tiled roof was a symbol of political and religious unity. Pineapple ornaments played a role as a symbol of monotheism. This symbol also is a manifestation of the religious ethics Butonese, who always direct their life to the values of monotheism.

Abstract

Gender issues come into being in Muslim world as a result of their interactions with modern western civilization through either colonialism or other ways. In addition to this external factor which can be regarded as triggering factor by which Muslim women’s awareness of their duties and rights started to emerge and develop, domination of men-biased interpretation of Islamic teachings also played an essential role in triggering the discours on gender issues. One of the responses to this issue is what so called Islamic feminism in Muslim world is a reaction to unjust but prevailing understanding and practice of Islamic teachings with regard to gender relation in favour of men. There are various issues related to this topic, but this article only contains the discussion on several Quranic verses regarding gender relation stating at the end that any interpretations of these verses is subject to change due to its profane nature. The principle is one: the core of Quranic spirit is equality. Finally, since the social fact of inequality of Muslim womens is very much influenced and shaped by men-biased interpretations, so Islamic Feminism is in fact more related to patriarchal value rather than divine one Keywords : Feminisme Islam, Kontekstualisasi prinsip ajaran Islam dan Relasi GenderCopyright © 2011 by Kafa`ah All right reservedDOI : 10.15548/jk.v1i1.33

Abstract

This article aims to examine the Salafi commitment to only refer to practices and beliefs based on evidence, which has two consequences at once, namely the potential for conflict and the process of religious literacy. Conducted in the Kampar area, this study uses a qualitative research method and is divided into two periods. The first is from September to December 2016 and the second is in 2022 after Covid-19. The second period focuses on the aspect of deepening and revalidating some important information about Salafism in Kampar through observation. The results of the research show that Salafi renewal includes aspects of beliefs and practices that are categorized as pollutants. The basis of legitimacy in the purification process is the normative argument contained in the Qur’an and authentic hadith. Embracing a religion in this context is a process of literacy, not imitation. In the end, it can be concluded that Salafi has encouraged the process of shifting from a little tradition to a large tradition in the Islamic community in Kampar.
