Abstract

Orphanages or facilities where children who can't afford to gather or are often called orphans are also called social institutions where the aim is to protect and educate them so that they can live a better and more secure life. Even though their lives must receive support and assistance from benefactors and people who have great social concern for the continuity of their education and life in the future. The Putra Muhammadyah Orphanage which is located on Jalan Amalun Gang Umanat, Medan City, North Sumatra, has been established in 1964 and has a good status with a score of 344. During this social service visit, we were attended by lecturers, alumni, students, and also the electrical engineering student association. Hope University Medan. Where on our visit we donated rice in the form of approximately one hundred kilograms (100 kilos). The administrators and residents of the orphanage were very enthusiastic and happy to receive us.

Abstract

Multisim software application training at vocational schools is one way to introduce a software that functions to facilitate lessons related to electricity both in theory and practice. The theory learned in class can be applied to various basics of electronics and electrical circuits related to testing and practice so that vocational students can develop basic knowledge of electronics and electricity. while for the laboratory it can be used for calculations with existing circuit measurements in modules and in theory. By introducing this tool, it is hoped that vocational students can form study groups in schools so that learning outcomes in class and practice can be achieved..

Abstract

Community service is one of the cores of the foundation's permanent lecturers' implementation of the Tri Dharma College policy at the Faculty of Engineering and Computers, Universitas Harapan Medan. Therefore, we from the Engineering lecturers at Harapan University Medan have a plan to provide a hand washing device which aims to participate in tackling the spread of covid-19. This hand washing tool uses an automatic system using an electric sensor. Where the system works, if we are going to wash our hands and right in the middle position, the water will come out of the discharge pipe, so it is not difficult for the water to come out of the pipe, there is no need to turn or press the faucet. So that the hand washing tool works automatically and economically, it is also not easily damaged.

Abstract

Knowledge transfer, or better known as knowledge sharing, is the most important thing in the world of education. Not a few sources are used as learning references, ranging from printed books, ebooks, journals and various other sources. In addition to references, media or containers in the process of exchanging knowledge are always a hot topic to be discussed. This can be seen from the competition in the world of education in building a portal or academic information system that will be used as a medium that can be accessed by students anytime and anywhere, to support the smooth learning process. Also, like the Electrical Lighting Installation Technique, the development is very fast with a variety of methods and ways. In books, many tell about Electrical Lighting Installation Techniques, also on the internet and on YouTube. But it doesn't explain system-specific how it works. With the holding of PkM, the socialization of the installation of a series of electrical lighting installations is expected to help the community/students understand it

Abstract

Capacitor bank is a collection of power tools in the form of a capacitor that serves as a tool that can reduce or improve reactive power into the power grid. The load on the electricity network in general is an inductive load. If the average power factor (cos ϴ) is less than 0.85, the State Electricity Company will provide the reactive power in KVAR fines usage charges on customers. An effort should be done to reduce the reactive power. An installation of bank capacitor is suitable to be implemented in an industry AC loads. It will reduce the reactive power and improve the power factor. In the case of 380 V, 50 Hz, 500 kW AC loads are improved the power factor from 0.7 to 0.93 using genetic algorithm, thus the AC loads current and reactive power will be decreased. It is suitable that the AC loads current is inversely proportional to the power factor, and the reactive power is proportional to the AC loads current.

Abstract

Abstract

Melting cable skin will short circuit current and cause fire. The factor that makes fires due to short circuits is that they are difficult to detect from the start. The purpose of this research is to design a protection and early warning system for electrical panels. The design method uses AVR ATmega 8 and also uses a C language program for system design. The result of this research is a thermal protection system on the conductor cable which is designed with an electronic circuit and is equipped with a thermal sensor, microcontroller, protection relay and display. Constant Value is 100 C/Volt. The LM 35 sensor converts temperature to voltage with a resolution of 10 mV / °C. With a thermal protection system on the cable, cable damage can be avoided and can also avoid fatal consequences such as melting cables and short circuits that can cause fires.

Abstract

Abstrak Perancangan ini adalah perancangan modifikasi atau rekayasa yang bertujuan untuk memodifikasi tempat sampah biasa menjadi tempat sampah otomatis dengan menggunakan arduino, untuk mempermudah masyarakat buang sampah. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan pada perancangan ini adalah teknik analisis data kuantitatif dengan statistic deskriptif, sehingga pengujian pada penelitian ini hanya sebatas pada uji coba alat. Dengan demikian maka data yang disajikan dalam penelitian ini adalah bentuk data rasio yang diperoleh dari hasil uji coba. Proses pembuatan alat terdiri dari 3 tahapan diantaranya pembuatan komponen mekanik, komponen sistem kontrol dan tahap finalisasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa tempat sampah otomatis menggunakan arduino yang dimodifikasi berfungsi dengan baik. Tempat sampah berkapasitas 10kg. Dengan ketinggian wadah 60cm lebar 30cm. Dan untuk mendukung hidup sehat dan lingkungan yang bersih, maka tempat sampah ini akan dihibahkan ke kantor dinas perhubungan kota medan yang terletak di Jl.Pinang Baris No.114A. Hal itu tidak lupa juga dengan menggunakan Arduino Uno R3 dengan chip ATMega 328p sebagai alat untuk memproses data dan sebagai mengirim data juga menggunakan software Arduino [1].

Abstract

Abstrak Di Indonesia peternak biasanya masih mengalami kegagalan penetasan di karenakan masih menggunakan metode penetasan tradisional. Alat penetas telur ini bekerja menggunakan panel surya. Sehingga panel surya sebagai salah satu sumber energi alternatif. Masalah utama yang dihadapi oleh peternak adalah keterbatasan produksi telur sehingga tidak mampu melayani seluruh pembeli yang memesan. Salah satu faktor penyebabnya adalah daya tetas telur yang belum maksimal. Permintaan akan unggas tersebut setiap bulannya meningkat cukup tajam, seiring dengan menjamurnya pembeli dan penjual hobi unggas hias dan kebutuhan daging. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan alat penetas telur teruntuk unggas hias yang tidak mampu mengeramkan telurnya, untuk mengurangi kegagalan penetasan, untuk membantu peternak mengejar target produksi dan alat ini mampu menampung telur sebanyak 50 butir selama 20-21 hari. Alat ini mempunyai sistem mengendalikan suhu, kelembapan secara otomatis dan juga mempunyai pencahayaan lampu pijar sebanyak 2 membutuhkan 10 watt dan motor stepper untuk menggerakkan rak telur 3 jam sekali membutuhkan 4 watt. Sedangkan PLTS yang dibutuhkan adalah panel surya (120 Wp), baterai (12V/50Ah), solar charger controller (10A) dan inverter (500 Watt).Kata kunci : Peternak, Menghemat Listrik, Alat Penetas Telur, Panel Surya, UnggasAbstract In Indonesia, breeders usually still experience hatching failures because they still use traditional hatchery methods. This egg incubator works using solar panels. So that solar panels as an alternative energy source. The main problem faced by farmers is the limited egg production so that they are not able to serve all buyers who order. One of the contributing factors is that the hatchability of eggs has not been maximized. The demand for these poultry increases quite sharply every month, along with the proliferation of buyers and sellers of ornamental poultry and meat needs. Therefore, an egg incubator is needed for ornamental birds that are not able to incubate their eggs, to reduce hatching failures, to help farmers achieve production targets and this tool is able to accommodate 50 eggs for 20-21 days. This tool has a system for controlling temperature, humidity automatically and also has 2 incandescent lighting requiring 10 watts and a stepper motor to drive an egg rack every 3 hours requires 4 watts. While the PLTS needed are solar panels (120 Wp), batteries (12V/50Ah), solar charger controllers (10A) and inverters (500 Watts). Abstract

As time progresses, it brings about changes that can transform everything. The technology that once used typewriters has now shifted to a device called a computer. With the presence of computers, its benefits are not overlooked by various parties. The benefits provided by computers offer convenience to those who need it. For example, an IT professional cannot be separated from the existence of computer functions in searching for various information. Likewise, workers in the education field utilize computers to support educational facilities. Along with the development of computers, the field of education also develops. There are many problems in education that can be solved manually. Many application programs or software can be used to solve problems, ranging from simple to complex, especially problems in Mathematics, such as the GeoGebra application. Matlab or Matrix Laboratory is software used for programming, analysis, as well as technical and mathematical computations based on matrices. Matlab was first released in 1970 by Cleve Moler. Initially, Matlab was used to solve problems related to linear algebraic equations. And to this day, the Matlab system continues to evolve in terms of its functions and computational performance.
