Abstract

White guava leaves (Syzygium malaccense (L.) Merr. & L.M. Perry) contain flavonoids, saponins and tannins which are used as antibacterial. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity of guava leaf extract on the growth of Escherichia coli and Streptococcus mutans. The scope of this research is in the field of microbiology, where the research was carried out in the Microbiology Laboratory of the Department of Pharmacy, Polytechnic of the Ministry of Health, Makassar. Guava leaves are macerated with 96% ethanol. Testing the antibacterial activity of guava leaf extract using the agar diffusion method. This study used white guava leaf extract with a concentration of 2%, 4%, and 6%, positive control (ciprofloxacin) and negative control (Na. CMC) which then measured the inhibition zone diameter in Escherichia coli and Streptococcus mutans. The results obtained by Escherichia coli at a concentration of 2% were 12.3 mm, the concentration of 4% was 14.3 mm, the concentration of 6% was 18.67 mm, while the positive control was 23 mm and the negative control did not show any zone of resistance. Meanwhile, the results obtained by Streptococcus mutans at a concentration of 2% were 8.67 mm, a concentration of 4% was 11.67 mm, a concentration of 6% was 16.3 mm, while the positive control was 31 mm and in the negative control there was no visible zone of resistance. For ANOVA calculations using Graphad prism, P value(<0.0001) indicates significant with an F caunt of 307,7Keywords: White guava leaves (Syzygium malaccense (L.) Merr. & L.M. Perry) memiliki kandungan flavonoid, saponin dan tanin yang digunakan sebagai antibakteri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak daun jambu putih terhadap pertumbuhan Escherichia coli dan Streptococcus mutans. Ruang lingkup penelitian ini adalah bidang mikrobiologi yang dimana penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Mikrobiologi Jurusan Farmasi Poltekkes Kemenkes Makassar. Daun jambu putih dimaserasi dengan etanol 96%. Pengujian aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak daun jambu putih menggunakan metode difusi agar. Penelitian ini menggunakan ekstrak daun jambu putih dengan konsentrasi 2%, 4%, dan 6%, kontrol positif (ciprofloxacin) dan kontrol negatif (Na. CMC) yang kemudian dilakukan pengukuran diameter zona hambat pada Escherichia coli dan Streptococcus mutans. Hasil yang diperoleh Escherichia coli pada konsentrasi 2% adalah 12,3 mm, konsentrasi 4% adalah 14,3 mm, konsentrasi 6% adalah 18,67 mm, sedangkan pada kontrol positif adalah 23 mm dan kontrol negatif tidak terlihat adanya zona hambatan. Sedangkan hasil yang diperoleh Streptococcus mutans pada konsentrasi 2% adalah 8,67 mm, konsentrasi 4% adalah 11,67 mm, konsentrasi 6% adalah 16,3 mm, sedangkan pada kontrol positif adalah 31 mm dan kontrol negatif tidak terlihat adanya zona hambatan, untuk perhitungan anova menggunakan Graphad prism P value (< 0,0001) menyatakan signifikan dengan nilai F hitung 307,7Kata kunci : Daun jambu putih (Syzygium malaccense (L.) Abstract

Covid 19 (coronavirus disease 2019) is a type of disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus which causes an acute respiratory infection with a very fast and massive spread. The recommended prevention methods are increasing immunity, wearing masks, keeping a distance and washing hands. Products that can be used to prevent COVID-19 are hand sanitizers, disinfectants and imun boosters (food supplements). The purpose of Community Service is to provide counseling on how to prevent Covid 19 and provide training on how to make natural product products for the prevention of Covid 19, namely hand sanitizers, disinfectants and imun boosters (food supplements). Method Service of counseling and training. The implementation of stage 1 has 60 participants (Connect Jawa village team, community representatives, PKK cadres and posyandu). Phase 2 participants 30 people (PKK cadres, posyandu cadres and housewives) The results of community service, the achievement of the counseling target was an increase in knowledge by 28% (hand sanitizer products); 48% (disinfectant product) and 42% (imun booster product). There was a technology transfer process after training on the manufacture of hand sanitizer, disinfectant and imun booster products (food supplements). Outcomes achieved are Natural Disinfectant Pocket Book and Food Supplement Imun Booster Pocket Book Herbal Candy which are published and registered as copyright, publication in Fajar newspaper, community service articles, community service implementation videos. Conclusion. The activity went smoothly, the target achievement was achieved 100%, namely there was an increase in knowledge and technology transfer in the training and the output of 2 books with ISBN, IPR book copyrights and training products.Keywords: training, hand sanitizer, disinfectant, imun booster, Covid 19Covid 19 (coronavirus disease 2019) adalah jenis penyakit yang disebabkan oleh coronavirus jenis SARS-CoV-2 yang menyebabkan infeksi saluran napas akut dengan penyebaran yang sangat cepat dan massif. Cara pencegahan yang dianjurkan adalah meningkatkan imunitas, memakai masker, menjaga jarak dan mencuci tangan. Produk yang dapat digunakan untuk pencegahan Covid 19 berupa hand sanitizer, desinfektan dan imun booster (food suplemen). Tujuan Kegiatan memberikan penyuluhan tentang cara pencegahan Covid 19 dan memberikan pelatihan cara pembuatan produk bahan alam untuk pencegahan Covid 19 yaitu hand sanitizer, desinfektan dan imun booster (food suplemen).  Metode Pengabdian penyuluhan dan pelatihan. Pelaksanaan  tahap 1 peserta 60 orang (tim kelurahan Sambung Jawa, perwakilan masyarakat, kader PKK dan posyandu). Tahap 2 peserta 30 orang (kader PKK, kader posyandu dan ibu rumah tangga) Hasil kegiatan, capaian target penyuluhan terjadi   peningkatan pengetahuan sebesar 28% (produk hand sanitizer); 48% (produk desinfektan) dan 42% (produk imun booster). Terjadi proses alih teknologi setelah pelatihan pembuatan produk hand sanitizer, desinfektan dan imun booster (food suplemen). Luaran yang dicapai adalah Buku Saku Desinfektan Alami dan Buku Saku Food Supplement Imun Booster Permen Herbal yang diterbitkan dan terdaftar sebagai hak cipta, publikasi pada koran Fajar, artikel kegiatan, video pelaksanaan kegiatan. Kesimpulan. Kegiatan berjalan lancar, capaian target tercapai 100% yaitu terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan dan alih teknologi dalam pelatihan dan luaran   2 buku ber ISBN, HKI hak cipta buku dan produk pelatihan.Kata Kunci:  pelatihan, hand sanitizer, desinfektan, imun booster, Covid 19

Abstract

Comparison level of knowledge and attitude between adolescents and women in Mattampae village, Bone regency toward the use of hazardous whitening creamWhitening creams are very popular among women, both teenagers, and adults. They are tempted to use whitening cream products so that their facial skin looks bright and smooth. The whitening cream they use is not necessarily the right whitening cream and guarantees safety. This study aimed to compare the knowledge and attitudes between adolescent girls and adult women toward the use of harmful whitening creams. This research was conducted in February 2022 in Mattampae Village, Ponre District, Bone Regency. This study uses a descriptive comparative method with a quantitative approach. The sample in this study amounted to 55 respondents consisting of 2 groups, namely 29 adolescent female respondents and 26 adult female respondents who were obtained using a purposive sampling technique. The questionnaire distributed contained knowledge and attitudes, then the data was processed using Mann Whitney with a 95% confidence level using the SPSS program. The results of this study indicate that the knowledge of adolescent girls is in a good category (79.7%) and adult women in the category are quite good (73.1%). The attitude of adolescent girls' attitudes are quite good (74.9%) and adult women are also quite good (72%). From the results of the study, it can be concluded that there is no significant difference in knowledge and attitudes between adolescent girls and adult women in Mattampae Village, Ponre District, Bone Regency towards the use of harmful whitening creams with a p-value > 0.05.Keywords: Attitude; Knowledge; Mature Woman; Whitening Cream; Young Woman.Krim pemutih banyak digemari oleh kalangan wanita baik remaja maupun dewasa. Mereka tergiur menggunakan produk krim pemutih, agar kulit wajahnya terlihat cerah dan halus, padahal, krim pemutih yang mereka gunakan mungkin saja tidak tepat serta tidak terjamin keamanannya. Penelitian ini akan membandingan tingkat pengetahuan dan sikap dalam penggunaan krim pemutih berbahaya diantara remaja putri dengan wanita dewasa terhadap. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari 2022 di Desa Mattampae Kecamatan Ponre Kabupaten Bone. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode komparasi deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Sampel pada penelitian ini berjumlah 55 responden yang terdiri dari 2 kelompok yakni 29 responden remaja putri dan 26 responden wanita dewasa yang diperoleh menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Kuesioner yang dibagikan berisi pengetahuan dan sikap kemudian data diolah menggunakan analisis Mann Whitney dengan taraf kepercayaan 95% menggunakan program SPSS. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan pengetahuan remaja putri termasuk kategori baik (79,7 %) dan wanita dewasa kategori cukup baik (73,1 %). Sikap remaja putri kategori cukup baik (74,9 %) dan wanita dewasa juga kategori cukup baik (72%). Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna mengenai pengetahuan dan sikap antara remaja putri dengan wanita dewasa di Desa Mattampae Kecamatan Ponre Kabupaten Bone terhadap penggunaan krim pemutih berbahaya dengan nilai p-value > 0,05.Kata Kunci : Sikap; Pengetahuan; Krim pemutih;  Wanita Dewasa,

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by hyperglycemia conditions (increased blood glucose) caused by abnormalities in insulin secretion, abnormalities in the action of insulin or perhaps both. Red Ginger (Zingiber officinale var. rubrum) contains alkaloids, flavanoids, tannins, saponins, gingerol and shagol which have blood glucose-lowering, anti-inflammatory, anticancer and antitumor effects. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Red Ginger extract against decreasing blood glucose levels in mice (Mus musculus). This research is a type of experimental study conducted to determine the effectiveness of red ginger extract against decreasing blood glucose levels in mice. This study was conducted using alloxane as a diabetes inducer, Na CMC 1% as a negative control, glibenclamide as a positive control, extract dose 2 %, 5 % and 7 % orally for 7 days in 5 groups of test animals. The results of the study obtained 1% Na-CMC results showed a percentage decrease, namely -16.32% and -103.03%. In the group of mice given Red Ginger extract 2% showed a percentage decrease, namely 105.57% and 102.04%. The group of mice given Red Ginger extract 5% showed a percentage decrease of 105.83% and 86.84%. The group of mice given 7% Red Ginger extract showed a percentage decrease, namely 67.34% and 97.45%. The group of mice suspended by glibenclamide showed a percentage decrease of 73.05% and 66.66%. It can be concluded that the administration of Red Ginger extract has been shown to reduce blood glucose levels in aloxane-induced mice at concentrations of 2%,5% and 7% with significant values (p < 0.05) indicating a difference and obtained the most effective concentration in lowering blood glucose levels in mice (Mus musculus) is a concentration of 7%.
