Abstract

Dieng has a long history until it finally became an area with the majority of the population being Muslim, even understanding Ahlussunnah wal Jama'ah. This cannot be separated from the process of indigenizing Islam in the Dieng plateau by the Sayyids – which is an extension of Walisongo's struggle. Using this type of qualitative research with a critical-historical discourse analysis approach (Discourse-Historica Approaches/DHA), this study tries to explore how the indigenization of Islam was carried out by the Sayyids in the Dieng plateau. As for the results of this study, it can be concluded that based on the evidence contained in the grave sites and remains of the Sayyids; Sheikh Karim, Sheikh Ngabdullah Selomanik, Sheikh Adam Sari, it is said that they did the indigenization of Islam in Dieng in the XVI-XVII centuries. The strategy and understanding that has been disseminated to the community is what Walisongo has done, namely a cultural approach that compromises the meeting of culture and sharia as one thing that does not need to be contradicted, and instead collaborates. Then ideologically, the ideology that was spread was the understanding of Ahlusunnah wal Jamaah which is still believed and practiced by the Muslim community in Dieng.

Abstract

The sayyid and kyai in muslim sosio-religi context in Java indeed often experience ups and downs in their relationships. But today, in fact, the average sayyid is in a more dominant position, at least as a religious spiritual leader. This is because in the belief of the majority of Muslims - not to mention the kyai- indeed positioned sayyid as a descendant of the Prophet who should have received respect and appreciation. This of course cannot be generalized, but mostly what happens in the field is like this. It's different from what happened in the Rembang area, where the sayyid actually provide more space for the kyai to stand in front of leading the ummat. This research use qualitative with a phenomenological-historical approach, the researcher tries to explore how altruism in the relationship between sayyid and kyai in Rembang. The results of this study can be concluded that Alturism that occurs in the sayyid-kyai relationship has actually started since the Walisongo era (Sunan Bonang to be precise) as the manifest of Al-Muhadjir I, the period of Sayyid Abdurrahman (Mbah Sambu) as the manifest of Al-Muhadjir II, until the current era of the Alawiyin era as the embodiment of Al-Muhadjir III. A harmony that can be used as a prototype in national and religious life.

Abstract

Tobacco and the Temanggung community seem to have a bond between the two. Especially with the srinthil tobacco type, this variety really has a special place in the hearts of the Temanggung people, especially farmers. It is not just a plant that is treated as a mere commodity. More than that, there is a spiritual dimension to the farmers who grow srinthil tobacco. Using a type of qualitative research that is field research, as well as a phenomenological approach, the author tries to explore the phenomenon of spirituality of Srinthil tobacco farmers in Temanggung. The results of this research can be concluded that the manifestation of spirituality of srhintil tobacco farmers in the nyecel, nglekasi and miwiti traditions is found in the concept of tawakkal which places effort and prayer in proportion. The point of differentiation lies in the form of rites which are not formally taught in the primary sources of Islamic teachings (the Al-Qurán and Hadith). And this is part of the long history of da'wah carried out by Ki Ageng Makukuhan in that region. Although after being explored substantively, what happens in the nyecel, nglekasi and miwiti traditions is more in line with rather than contrary to the source of these teachings. Most people think that srinthil is a kind of "given" whose final determination is purely in the hands of nature as a manifestation of God's power.
