Semarang City is one of the most densely populated cities in Central Java Province, which has experienced land conversion due to increased development. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship and influence of urban development on temperature in the urban area of Semarang from 1980 to 2020. Population data, land use changes, temperature change data from 1980 to 2020, and remote sensing images were used. The influence of city development and temperature used inferential statistics, which is a method related to data analysis for forecasting or drawing conclusions about the overall data. Regression analysis is one part of inferential statistics that is widely used in the decision-making process. Semarang is experiencing development, both in terms of physical appearance and population growth. The population continues to increase until it almost doubles over a period of 40 years, which is directly proportional to the increase in temperature in the city of Semarang. The results of the analysis show that the development of the city seen from changes in population and changes in built-up land has an effect on temperature changes in the city of Semarang by up to 69.9%. The spatial distribution of temperature changes shows the direction of the center of Semarang City activities in the Districts of Central Semarang, North Semarang, East Semarang, South Semarang, and Gajah Mungkur, which is also in accordance with the condition of the area, which is also a residential area and the city center.

Abstract

As time goes by, the tourism sector, especially tourist villages, is increasingly developing and becoming a new star for the economy of a region. Leuwilaja Village, located in Sindangwangi District, Majalengka Regency, West Java Province, has potential local economic resources in the form of a rattan craft center which can then be developed as a rattan tourism village. The village government and community have the desire to develop a rattan tourism village as a forum for the community's economy. There needs to be a main priority program plan in developing tourist villages to make it easier for stakeholders, both the government and the community, to develop tourist villages. This analysis was prepared as a form of community service through UGM 2023 KKN-PPM activities with the aim of assisting in identifying supporting elements and strategies that can be implemented to optimize the existing potential for developing tourist villages. This analysis uses a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection methods in the form of interviews, documentation, field observations, and continued with rattan business mapping to support the results of field observations. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique used is Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, and Threat (SWOT) analysis to determine tourism village development strategies. The research results show that the tourism support elements in Leuwilaja Village, both in terms of amenities and accessibility, are quite optimal in supporting the existence of a tourist village, but institutions still need to be improved again because there is still a lack of management of tourism potential. The priority things to be developed first to support the development of tourist villages in Leuwilaja Village are developing new attractions, developing human resource skills in creating new innovations, optimizing public facilities, developing infrastructure and spatial planning, and increasing collaboration with various external parties.

Abstract

The increasing flow of internal migrants to Bali has created social and cultural tensions within traditional village communities that uphold Hindu customary systems. This study examines how migrants adjust within the framework of Tri Hita Karana (Parhyangan, Pawongan, and Palemahan). The touristic villages of Jimbaran and Pecatu in South Kuta were selected because both continuously record positive net migration yet show contrasting cultural responses: Jimbaran, as an urban village, is generally more open and adaptive, while rural Pecatu maintains a more conservative orientation, producing different patterns of interaction and occasional tensions. Using a descriptive mixed-method approach, data were collected from 386 respondents across the two villages. The findings show that Krama Tamiu migrants (Balinese Hindus) adapt more easily due to shared religious values, while Tamiu migrants (non-Hindus) face greater barriers, particularly in spiritual participation. Participation levels are higher in Jimbaran, reflecting its more inclusive structure of the urban context. The study links Tri Hita Karana with social capital and acculturation to explain migrant integration.
