Abstract

According to Van Dijk, there are three dimensions of discourse analysis, namely text, social cognition and social context. This study was focused on the first dimension, text. Joko Widodo’s first presidential English speech on economic issues in front of international audience in CEO Summit in Beijing was one of speeches a lot of people talk about. Some like while some others dislike. This study was intended to analyze the transcript of the speech. This text analysis was based on Van Dijk’s design in which the unit elements of the analysis are divided into three parts: macro-structure, suprastructure and microstructure. The result of the analysis revealed that in macrostructure element, several sentences in the presidential speech were less coherent in term of stating theme. Then, in suprastructure, the scheme of the speech consisted of opening, content and closing. Finally, in the microstrucure, the semantic aspect could be found in setting, detail, intention, presupposition, and normalization.

Abstract

This current paper discusses the movement Sekelik Sedulur community in building a culture of inter-ethnic harmony Lampung and Java as an attempt to Prevent ethnic conflict in Central Lampung. The core foundation of this community used a part of a cultural approach Harmony Among maintain ethnic, religious and community groups in Central Lampung. 'Sekelik' in Lampung means 'brother' and 'sedulur' in Javanese language means 'brother'. Community Sekelik Sedulur actively makes the discussion, friendship, and cultural acculturation activities in maintaining inter-ethnic relations. As Lampungnese were famous with the ethnic conflict, economic and social dialogue, it is Necessary to conduct forum as a form of concern for inter-ethnic harmony. Actually, the problems is there is no action blended multicultural entities. This study uses ethnographic approach. To answer the questions of this research, Utilization thinking of Koentjaraningrat Cultural is used as acculturation theory. Acculturation is a cultural fusion that occurs when a group of people with a certain culture are confronted with elements of a foreign culture so that different elements of foreign culture are gradually accepted and processed into their own culture without losing their own cultural identity

Abstract

This study aimed to explore the construction of English teacher identity within the multilingual and religiously oriented environment of Indonesian pesantren through a narrative inquiry approach. Applying narrative inquiry, the study examined how teachers negotiate their religious and professional identities while balancing multiple language ideologies embodied in this educational context. Data were collected through in-depth semi-structured interviews and reflective journals, providing rich narratives of teachers' experiences, challenges, and strategies in navigating their roles. Three key themes emerged: balancing language ideologies, the interplay between religious and professional identities, and multilingual practices in the classroom. The findings reveal the dynamic, context-responsive nature of teacher identity development within pesantren, highlighting how educators align religious values with pedagogical goals. This study addresses a critical gap by focusing on identity formation in faith-based multilingual education settings, offering new insights beyond secular or formal institutions. The implications contribute to broader discussions on teacher identity, multilingual education, and the intersection of language, religion, and teaching practices.

Abstract

Pemahaman konsep IPA di sekolah dasar merupakan fondasi penting, namun pembelajaran yang bersifat konvensional sering kali menghambat pemahaman mendalam siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep IPA pada siswa sekolah dasar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan subjek penelitian siswa kelas IV B SD N 1 Metro Timur. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi selama proses pembelajaran materi magnet. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model Discovery Learning memberikan dampak positif terhadap pemahaman konsep IPA siswa. Secara kuantitatif, 13 dari 22 siswa (59%) mencapai nilai di atas Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM) dengan nilai rata-rata kelas 70. Secara kualitatif, siswa menunjukkan antusiasme yang tinggi, kemampuan menjelaskan konsep dengan bahasa sendiri, dan keterlibatan aktif selama pembelajaran. Model ini terbukti efektif dalam membantu siswa membangun pemahaman konsep secara mandiri melalui tahapan stimulasi, pengumpulan data, dan generalisasi. Kendala teknis menjadi tantangan, namun secara keseluruhan, Discovery Learning merupakan alternatif pembelajaran yang relevan untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran IPA di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh gaya komunikasi guru terhadap partisipasi belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di kelas III Sekolah Dasar. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan studi kasus melalui observasi, wawancara guru dan siswa, serta dokumentasi untuk memperoleh data secara mendalam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru menerapkan gaya komunikasi yang jelas, empatik, dan demokratis melalui komunikasi verbal dan nonverbal yang efektif. Gaya komunikasi tersebut berdampak positif terhadap peningkatan partisipasi siswa, yang tercermin dari keberanian siswa dalam menjawab pertanyaan, memberikan pendapat, bekerja sama, serta menunjukkan antusiasme selama pembelajaran. Meskipun partisipasi siswa secara umum berada pada kategori baik hingga sangat baik, sebagian siswa masih membutuhkan stimulus untuk lebih aktif bertanya dan terlibat dalam diskusi kelompok. Kesimpulannya, penerapan gaya komunikasi guru yang tepat berperan signifikan dalam menciptakan pembelajaran yang interaktif dan mendorong keaktifan siswa. Implikasi penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya guru untuk terus mengembangkan strategi komunikasi yang inklusif dan memotivasi guna meningkatkan mutu pembelajaran di sekolah dasar.
