Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research is to analyze the contribution that is given by level of education and income towards the effort to develop UMKM in Padang city. This research uses assosoatif descriptive research. Population of this research is all of UMKM in Padang city. This research uses cluster sampling technique to choose the sample. There are 352 UMKM in Padang city selected as sample. Intrument that is used in this research is questionnaire. The data that have collected, they are analyzed by using path analysis, then the data are traated by using SPSS (Statistical Product Service Solustion) versi 16.0. The analysis result can be concluded that: first, level of education (X1) gives significant contribution towards income (X2) . Second, income (X2) does not give significant contribution towards development of UMKM (Y). Third, level of education (X1) gives significant contribution towards development of UMKM (Y). Keywords: Level of education, income and development of UMKM ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kontribusi yang diberikan oleh tingkat pendidikan dan pendapatan terhadap upaya pengembangan UMKM di Kota Padang. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif asosiatif dengan populasi semua UMKM yang terdapat di Kota Padang. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik Cluster Sampling (Area Sampling) dan terpilih sebanyak 352 UMKM yang tersebar di seluruh kecamatan di Kota Padang. Alat pengumpulan data adalah dengan menggunakan instrument penelitian berupa kuesioner. Data yang telah dikumpulkan di analisis dengan menggunakan model analisis jalur (Path Analysis) kemudian data tersebut diolah dengan menggunakan SPSS (Statistical Product Service Solution) versi 16.0. Dan hasil analisis tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa: Pertama, Tingkat pendidikan (X1) memberikan kontribusi yang signifikan terhadap pendapatan (X2). Kedua, Pendapatan (X2) tidak memberikan kontribusi yang signifikan terhadap pengembangan UMKM (Y). Ketiga,Tingkat pendidikan (X1) memberikan kontribusi yang signifikan terhadap Pengembangan UMKM (Y) Kata Kunci: Tingkat Pendidikan, Pendapatan dan Pengembangan UMKM

Abstract

The basis for the implementation of this activity was caused that catfish farming is one of the businesses that are widely occupied by the people of Koto Tangah sub district, Padang city. The lack of knowledge and skills possessed in the effort to develop catfish farming business resulted in many efforts of farmers who suffered losses and even closed the business. The method that was used in this activity is the application of a Balanced Scorecard that was connected with the goals, strategies, and objectives in achieving a certain level of growth and obtaining competitive advantages. The implementation of the Balanced Scorecard was carried out through 4 (four) stages; namely (1) program socialization, (2) Training, (3) mentoring and (4) program Monitoring and Evaluation. From this activities, the high interest of participants in applying the Balanced Scorecard approach in order to they are able to measure their business performance. It could be seen from (1) the enthusiasm of the members in participating in program activities ranging from socialization to training provided by Team Members ; (2) based on the questionnaire that has been filled by the participants of activities also illustrates the high desire for participants to apply the Balanced Scorecard. The activity is also equipped with the provision of materials and equipment to the group of catfish farmers in Koto Tangah sub district, Padang city therefore they are able to develop a Balanced Scorecard strategy that can be used as a benchmark in measuring the business performance of activity participants.

Abstract

Catfish cultivation is among the highly sought-after enterprises in Gunung Sarik, Padang City, yet catfish breeders generally lack knowledge and skills in catfish production techniques, including catfish farming methods and innovations in artificial feed or alternative feeds. Additionally, there is a lack of knowledge and skills in business management. The objective of this activity is to provide modeling to the related groups regarding catfish farming techniques, business management, and catfish production. This activity has been carried out within the catfish cultivation groups in Gunung Sarik, Kuranji Sub-district, Padang City. The methods employed include: (1) socialization; (2) training and mentoring; (3) monitoring and evaluation related to business management and catfish farming techniques systematically. The results indicate that the training and mentoring significantly benefit the development of catfish cultivation businesses in the Gunung Sarik catfish cultivation group. The group was able to organize and improve the quality of business management, implement alternative feed manufacturing technology, and apply proper catfish farming methods. This is evidenced by the increased catfish production by the group, leading to enhanced efficiency and sustainability of the catfish cultivation business. Therefore, it can be concluded that training and mentoring in catfish cultivation are effective strategies for developing catfish cultivation businesses and enhancing community empowerment. With the conducted transfer of science and technology, the group is capable of optimizing potential and increasing catfish production yields.
