Abstract

The background of this research writing is to know what variables affect junior high school, and it can be seen that these variables have a significant effect or not, because they can affect many things in school kindness at school. The method used in writing this research is to use quantitative methods which will be surveyed to 100 people who are randomly selected so that they can find out the data directly in the field because with the appropriate data it will be able to produce good research and can be used as a basis for future research. The problem raised in this study is how the Corona virus variable and the online learning system can affect junior high schools that use English subjects as compulsory subjects in Junior High Schools. Can the Corona virus variable and online learning system variables affect schools Junior Intermediate. The purpose of this study will be to find out what variables can affect the teaching and learning system in junior high schools, in order to improve the learning and teaching system in the future so that they can find out the weaknesses and strengths of the learning system.

Abstract

Research conducted at STIKes Ngudia Husada Madura indicated that nursing students were still having problems with TOEFL preparation. Objective: This study aimed to further describe the motivation and attitudes of nursing students towards the TOEFL. Methods: Data were collected by administering the TOEFL test to nursing students at level three (the 6th semester) of the Nursing Science Study Program STIKes Ngudia Husada Madura, as well as a questionnaire measuring motivation and attitudes toward the TOEFL. Results: The results showed that although the respondents got a low score in the TOEFL test, they had high motivation and a supportive attitude towards TOEFL. Discussion: This illustrates that more innovative and effective methods are needed in learning English with the aim of increasing the English language skills of nursing students, especially at STIKes Ngudia Husada Madura.

Abstract

Cooperative Script is the cooperative learning method in which students work in pairs and verbally summarize the parts of the material learned in the classroom. The purpose of the study is to find out the student's response toward using Cooperative Script Learning in teaching listening. In this study, the researcher using descriptive qualitative, and the population was taken from the second-semester physiotherapy program study health students consist of eleven students. To obtain the data, then the researcher applied the following method: Observation sheet, Interview sheet, Questionnaire sheet, and Documentation sheet. The lecturer used a Cooperative script in teaching listening at twice a meeting. For the once, it needed 90 minutes. It was done by teaching listening in some aspects by materials spoof. The student asked how to did it. Then the lecturer asked for the student to practice with their partner by using Part of Body Cavities Text. If students did not understand, the lecturer replied anymore until the students understood truly. Abstract

Abstract: As we know English Language is one of the official languages of the United Nations and International languages become the most important soft skill to continue and to be taught in order to create a habit of using English, unfortunatelly Indonesia used English as foreign language not as second language this condtions makes speakers especially in speaking sometimeshas an anxiety to communicate and interact each other, one of case is college students, as students they certainly need to learn English as an academic language. but most of them are often nervous to pronounce English because they think English is one of the difficult languages. This study aims to describe about the elements cause students’anxiety in speaking skill and the students strategies to cope the anxiety in speaking skill at STIKes Ngudia Husada Madura in Medical Record Student of second semester in academic year 2019-2020 as participants. There are 21 students as participants researcher take by purposive sampling. Researcher also take 3 students in class of Medical Record. Descriptive Qualitative was used in this study. The data were through structured Interviews and classroom observations. The data were describe by interview transcripts. The result of this study describe three elementss that cause students’ anxiety in speaking English. The first is Self Perception of students that always feel English is difficulty to Learn and speak. The second elements is Class Condition of Performance make students got anxiety when they speak in front of their friends and lecture. The third is students’ Anxiety in speaking English is Fear of Making Mistakes. The result of this study also found there are three strategies that students used to cope the anxiety in speaking English. The first is Preparation, eight students did preparation always felt better before speaking English. The second is Positive thinking, seven participants did positive thinking can cope the anxiety in speaking English. The last is Relaxation, there five students take this strategie if students feel anxiety and failed speaking English. Keywords: Anxiety, Speaking Skill

Abstract

This study is at identifying and analyzing the needs of ESP learning material in learning English at diploma nursing students. To find out the correct reference, analysis is urged to be done to obtain information about what the students really need to support their learning process at the present time or in the future career. This study was conducted by using a qualitative approach and descriptive method. The samples were students from Diploma Nursing Study Program of STIKes Ngudia Husada Madura who are currently taking English subject and the sampling technique used was purposive random sampling. Meanwhile, a questionnaire as the instrument for this study was arranged in a closed-ended form. The data analysis was descriptive analysis in the form of number and percentage. The study revealed that the needs of nursing students on English subjects are very diverse and it can be concluded that they need English not only for their current needs as they can communicate in English to support their education in the nursing field, but also for their future professional careers. Therefore, it is recommended that ESP English lectures or other related parties should accommodate the needs of these students. In addition, it is suggested to always conduct needs analysis since the needs of ESP learners are constantly changing. Keywords: ESP, English subject, needs analysis, learners' needs

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of student interaction on the improvement of English speaking skills. Interactions between students and other students as well as interactions between students and instructors will be analyzed. Interactions that occur both inside and outside of the classroom are crucial to both the learning process and the process of acquiring English. This study is qualitative and descriptive in nature. The learning process consists of a sequence of implementations by educators and students. In this case, there will be reciprocity between students and instructors in order to attain certain objectives. This relationship is known as interaction, and it can occur both inside and outside of the classroom. It is necessary for students to interact both inside and outside of the classroom to improve their English speaking abilities. The interaction includes question-and-answer exchanges, the exchange of ideas, and conversations. This includes interactions between students and instructors as well as interactions between students. This has been shown to enhance the English-speaking skills of STIKES Ngudia Hussada Madura students. Those who prefer to be passive make little to no progress in speaking English, in contrast to those who frequently engage in conversation.
