Abstract

This study aims to determine the problems related to the division of gender roles and the existence of gender awareness in the Buginese tribe community. The research method is qualitative with the research location in Parepare, South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia. Data got through interviews and observations. These data are collected, reduced, and presented as research findings. The findings of this study are the division of gender roles in the Buginese tribe group dealing with the problem of double burdens and stereotypes. The existence of gender awareness in the Buginese tribe community can be seen from participation in education and the economy, representation in positions in the public sphere, and the distribution of roles and responsibilities in the domestic sphere. The existence of gender awareness cannot be separated from the challenges of changing social structures that have the potential to present various problems of stability in family resilience. Therefore, this study suggests the importance of revitalizing the philosophy of life of the Buginese tribe who are pro-gender equality, such as a’bulo sibatang, sipatuo sipatokkong, and sibali perri. In addition, it is necessary to involve men in the domestic sphere to maintain family resilience and maintain the spirit of gender equality for the realization of a prosperous society.

Abstract

Tulisan ini mendeskripsikan tentang tantangan yang dihadapi oleh guru pendidikan agama Islam dalam mengintrnalisasikan nilai-nilai pendidikan agama Islam kepada peserta didik di sekolah. Tantangan yang muncul diakibatkan karena perkembangan yang pesat dalam bidang informasi dan teknologi (IT) sehingga arus balik pertukaran informasi menjadi tidak terelakkan, bahkan banyak budaya-budaya yang mesti disaring terlebih dahulu disebabkan karena tidak sesuai dengan nilai-nilai pendidikan Islam. Tulisan ini juga menggambarkan bagaimana strategi guru dalam menginternalisasikan nilai-nilai pendidikan agama Islam kepada peserta didik. Terdapat tiga aspek yang termasuk dalam nilai-nilai pendidikan Islam, yaitu: nilai akhlak (akhlak kepada Allah, akhlak kepada sesama dan akhlak kepada diri sendiri), nilai akidah (keimanan kepada Allah dan rasul-Nya), dan nilai ibadah (ghairu mahdah). Adapun strategi-strategi yang dilakukan dalam menginternalisasikan nilai-nilai pendidikan agama Islam meliputi beberapa tahapan, yakni: tahap transformasi nilai, tahap transaksi nilai, dan tahap transinternalisasi.

Abstract

This research is focused on exploring the concepts of geometry and algebra on the equipment used in Konjo ethnic weddings which are categorized in the aspects of artistic tools, sandan, boards and food. This research is a qualitative research with an ethnographic approach whose stages include determining the scope, determining and interviewing informants, documenting and recording, domain analysis, taxonomic analysis and ethnographic writing. Based on the exploration results it is found that the observed customary equipment can be modeled into a relationship between polynomial functions, such as the relationship of two parallel lines and two perpendicular lines in the balli' and kanre anak, a quadratic function rotated about the x-axis represents the gandrang pannahan model. The relationships of constant, linear and quadratic functions which are rotated about the y-axis produce the form of the gandrang jong. Furthermore, the concept of geometry can also be explored in the songkok recca as a sandan requirement whose surface is elliptical and the volume can be approximated using the concept of volume calculation using the slab approach. Whereas in the food aspect, there are beng-beng as dumplings for cucuru which can be represented as a constant function which is rotated around the x-axis. In the process of making the equipment explored it shows the ability, skills and mathematical activities in the form of counting, designing, measuring, locating and explaining. Mathematical concepts identified in customary equipment can be used as contextual learning resources in learning mathematics in formal education.
