Abstract

Immature / total neutrophil (IT Ratio) is the ratio between the young and the total neutrofi neutrophils in peripheral blood smear preparations. Sepsis in neonates is a systemic inflammatory response syndrome that occurs as a result of an infection that can be caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi or parasites. Sepsis in the neonate can result in death, but the symptoms are non-specific that require fast and accurate diagnosis early. Increased IT Ratio can be used asan early detection of sepsis in neonates because of neutrophils is a non-specific immune response which first appeared in the process of infection (sepsis). The design method observational cross-sectional study with the aim to describe the IT Ratio in neonates with sepsis risk on Hermina Mother and Child Hospital,Ciputat. This study is based on literature data and medical records of patients who carry out checks on Hermina Mother and Child Hospital, Ciputat, from July to October 2015. The results of the secondary data on 80 patients who had sepsis risk gained an average age infants IT checks Ratio 1.7 days, the average maternal gestational age 38.3 weeks, an average of the results of IT Ratio 0.09, which affected risk factors for the mother experienced premature rupture of the frequency distribution of 2.5%, kemih1,2% tract infection, amniotic fluid hijau1,3%. By sex obtained group sex male 3 patients (3.6%) were the result ofincreased IT ratio, whereas female gender group 1 patients (1.3%) Conclusion: The increased IT Ratio> 0.2 (sepsis) of 4 patients 5.0% and for IT normal Ratio <0.2 as many as 76 patients 95.0%. IT ratios can be used for early detection of sepsis in neonates.

Abstract

STH infection is still a serious health problem that mainly occurs in school-age children. The main risk factors for the spread of this disease are unhealthy lifestyles and poor environmental sanitation. Therefore, it is necessary to have a program to increase knowledge, awareness, attitude, and behavior of people to live healthier and continue to maintain environmental sanitation and hygiene so that the spread of STH infection can be prevented. This community service program is carried out as part of the STH infection control program. The subjects of this program are preschool and school-age children and their parents in RW 9 Jatiwarna, Pondok Melati, Bekasi. The program consists of three parts: health education; identification of health knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors; and early detection of STH infection. As a result, most of the respondents have knowledge about STH infection in the moderate category, but most of them have good attitudes and behaviors for healthy living. Based on the results of laboratory tests, three (10 percent) school-age children were identified as positive for STH. Further medical examinations and treatment are required for school-age children who are based on a positive STH laboratory examination. In addition, the Bekasi City Health Office and Jatiwarna Health Center need to continue to carry out STH infection control programs in communities in Jatiwarna, Pondok Melati, Bekasi in an integrated and sustainable manner. Abstract

Soil-transmitted helminths infection is still a serious health problem that mainly occurs in pre-school-aged children. In the context of tackling soil-transmitted helminths infection, we carried out a community service program through public health promotion and a survey on the prevalence of soil-transmitted helminths infection in preschool-aged children in Jatiwarna, Bekasi City. Health promotion is carried out by means of lectures, discussions, and distribution of pamphlets on soil-transmitted helminths infections. In addition, we distributed questionnaires to measure the level of knowledge, attitude and healthy living behavior in the community. There were 37 respondents who filled out the questionnaire. The prevalence survey was carried out by means of direct slide microscopic examination of the fecal samples of 30 preschool-school children. Questionnaire data showed that the majority (59.9 percent) of respondents had moderate knowledge about soil-transmitted helminths infection. Most of the respondents had a healthy attitude and behavior in the good category with a percentage of 45.9 percent and 89.2 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, the results of microscopic examination showed that the prevalence of soil-transmitted helminths infection in preschool-school-age children was 10 percent. It is necessary to administer mass anthelmintic drugs to children and promote health in the community on a regular basis and further research is needed to determine the prevalence and risk factors for soil-transmitted helminths infection in a wider population.
