Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of problem solving skills of class X students on material derived functions through themethod Inquiry. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subjects in this study were class X students of SMA Negeri 9 Kota Tidore Kepulauan, totaling 31 students. Research carried out with 1-2 cycles. Data retrieval in this study was carried out using a problem solving ability test and an observation sheet of the teacher's ability to manage learning based onmethods inquiry and observing student activities in learning based onmethods inquiry. Based on the results of data analysis in the field, it is necessary to improve the quality of learning by offering a variety of methods. One of the methods used is themethod which is Inquiry very effective in mathematics learning, especially learning materials that require the ability to orient on problems, formulate problems, formulate hypotheses, collect data, test hypothesis, and formulating conclusions because it can improve problem-solving abilities.

Abstract

This research is motivated by differences in the eating habits of students of MAN Insan Cendekia West Halmahera (Boarding School) and students of SMA Negeri 11 Tidore Kepulauan (regular school). The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a difference in the relationship between diet and nutritional status with the level of physical fitness of students in the two school models. This research was conducted at MAN Insan Cendekia and SMA Negeri 11 Tidore Kepulauan. The subjects of this study were 60 students of class X, consisting of 30 students from MAN Insan Cendekia and 30 students from SMA Negeri 11 Tidore Kepulauan. The data was collected by using a questionnaire and measurement test techniques. Dietary data were obtained using a 24-hour food recall instrument and a questionnaire, nutritional status data were obtained by measuring height, weight, arm circumference and head circumference calculating Body Mass Index (BMI), data on physical fitness levels using a 40 meter running test, jumping test. upright and sit down test to calculate the standard TKJI. The data analysis technique used product moment correlation with a significant level of 5%. The results of this study indicate that there is a relationship between diet and nutritional status with the level of physical fitness, namely the r table value of o, 361 <r count of 0.472 for regular schools and the value of r table of o, 361 <r count 0.538 for boarding school . These results indicate that there is no significant difference between regular school students (SMA Negeri 11 Tidore Kepulauan) and boarding school (MAN Insan Cendekia Halmahera Barat).

Abstract

The problems faced at SMP Negeri 5 Tidore Kepulauan related to learning mathematics activities in the classroom can be seen that some students do not understand math problems; unable to answer teacher questions, during the learning process; students are not able to respond well to the material being studied; the learning process of mathematics subjects for students is less fun; students find it difficult to master mathematics subject matter; most students are less motivated in participating in mathematics learning activities. In addition, based on the experience of researchers at the school, it is known that during learning activities there are still students who have not been able to express their opinions during learning, some students also seem less concerned about learning assignments. The formulation of this research is (1) Can the application of the contextual teaching and learning (CTL) learning model improve the mathematical problem-solving ability of the students of SMP Negeri 5 Tidore Islands City? (2) How do teachers and students manage learning based on the contextual teaching and learning (CTL) learning model? Thus, the objectives of this study were to determine: (1) the improvement of mathematical problem-solving abilities of students at SMP Negeri 5 Tidore Kepulauan City who were taught the contextual teaching and learning (CTL) model; (2) Analyzing the success of teachers and students in implementing learning based on the contextual teaching and learning (CTL) model. The type of research conducted is classroom action research (CAR). The sample in this study were students of class VIII SMP Negeri 5 Tidore Islands, as many as 24 students. Data retrieval in this study was carried out using observation sheets of teacher activities in managing learning and observations of student activities in learning, tests of mathematical problem-solving abilities. The results of the study show that CTL learning can improve students' mathematical problem-solving abilities
