Abstract

Today, many sharia minimarkets are operating in Indonesia, including 212 Mart. This minimarket was inspired by Aksi Bela Islam 212. Despite emphasizing sharia values, customer loyalty is still the primary determinant of the success of a business. This study aimed to analyze and prove the variable influence of religiosity, brand equity, and service quality on customer loyalty with customer satisfaction as an intervening variable in the 212 Mart DKI Jakarta area. The quantitative method is used to prove the hypothesis proposed by the research sample of 136 respondents (response rate of 82%). The data were collected using the purposive sampling technique through a questionnaire given directly to the respondents. The collected data were analyzed using Partial Least Square through the SmartPLS 3.0 application. The results showed; that first, there was a direct influence on the variable of religiosity and service quality on customer loyalty and the variable of service quality on customer satisfaction. Second, the effect of religiosity, brand equity, and service quality on customer loyalty is not mediated by customer satisfaction as an intervening variable. The uniqueness of this result is that customer satisfaction does not judge the effect of other variables on customer loyalty at 212 Mart. In the future, it is essential to know whether the same applies to other sharia-based minimarkets.

Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the role of human capital in improving organizational efficiency and employee productivity in Islamic People's Economic Banks (BPRS) in Indonesia. This research was conducted on 350 BPRS employees in East Java Province using purposive sampling technique. While data collection was done through questionnaires. The research was conducted because in 2024 out of 174 BPRS in Indonesia, only 7 BPRS have core capital exceeding Rp 50 billion. This limitation hampers the ability to provide adequate supporting infrastructure and high-quality human resources, especially in a market segment that demands the presence of high-quality human capital. Meanwhile, BPRS are still perceived as inferior to general banks by the public. Thus, this study provides strategic recommendations for BPRS management in improving organizational efficiency and employee productivity through human capital development. The results showed that human capital (HC) has a significant positive influence on improving employee roductivity (EP) with a coefficient value of β = 0.406 (p < 0.05) and organization efficiency (OE) with a coefficient value of β = 0.416 (p < 0.05). In addition, a healthy organization also has a significant positive effect on improving employee productivity (EP) with a coefficient value of β = 0.262 (p < 0.05). Overall, a healthy organization mediates the relationship between human capital and employee performance with an axb indirect effect value of 0.109 (p < 0.05).

Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of multi-stakeholder collaboration and develops strategies for community empowerment to enhance skills, optimize the economic value of waste, and foster environmental awareness in line with Islamic values. Using a qualitative descriptive approach based on a literature review and empirical analysis at TPS-3R Tambakrejo, Sidoarjo, data were collected from relevant scientific references and documentation studies, validated through source triangulation and extended observations. Findings show that the Islamic Social Entrepreneurship (ISE) approach increases community participation in waste management, opens local economic opportunities through recycling and value-added products, and promotes environmental education. Participatory management at TPS-3R fosters synergy among local actors, government, and communities rooted in Islamic principles. Key findings highlight the significant potential of household waste management to generate economic value, the absence of a structured Islamic-based empowerment model, and the need for integrative strategies involving education, training, and regulatory support. Islamic values serve as a moral force, strengthening awareness and participation in environmental preservation. In conclusion, waste management based on ISE is both an environmental solution and an innovative empowerment model. Through active participation, cross-sector collaboration, and the application of sharia principles, communities can independently manage waste while improving their living standards sustainably. This research provides a foundation for developing community-based policies and business models that integrate economic, spiritual, and socio-ecological dimensions.

Abstract

Objective: This study investigates the determinants of cash waqf decisions among Muslim donors (wakif) in Surabaya, Indonesia, by examining the roles of waqf literacy, income, institutional trust, and altruistic attitudes. Furthermore, it assesses whether religiosity strengthens the relationship between these factors and cash waqf decisions. Method: A quantitative research design was employed using a survey of 350 cash waqf donors in Surabaya. Data were analysed using Structural Equation Modelling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) to evaluate both direct and moderating effects among the proposed variables. Result: The findings reveal that waqf literacy and institutional trust have a positive and significant influence on cash waqf decisions. In contrast, income and altruistic attitudes do not significantly affect the decision to participate in cash waqf. The results also indicate that religiosity does not moderate the relationships between waqf literacy, income, institutional trust, altruistic attitudes, and cash waqf decisions. Implication: The study highlights the importance of strengthening waqf literacy programs and improving institutional professionalism, transparency, and accountability to enhance public participation in cash waqf. Waqf institutions should prioritise trust-building mechanisms rather than relying solely on religious appeals in fundraising strategies. Originality or Novelty: This study extends the application of the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) to Islamic social finance by examining actual cash waqf decisions rather than behavioural intentions. It also contributes to the literature by testing religiosity as a moderating variable and providing empirical evidence from Surabaya, a newly designated waqf city in Indonesia.
