Abstract

A decrease in both physiological and psychological functioning in older adults necessitates a family's assistance to improve their health status in order to maintain the condition and care of   older adults with degenerative diseases that are often experienced with hypertension. Hypertensive management consists of pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy which requires dynamic treatment. The purpose of this research is to determine the effects of family and cadre empowerment on older adults with hypertension's health status in Bali Province. The method used pre-post-test quasi experiment with control group design and it involved 62 older adult respondents and family in the province of Bali. Data was analysed by dependent and independent t-test as well as double logistic regression test. Analysis results showed there was a significant influence from the intervention on older adult health status. The multivariate test also discovered that the age of the older adult also affects the increase in older adult health status. It is expected that this program can be implemented in health services and developed into a more dynamic program. Keywords: Empowerment, health status, older adult.

Abstract

Abstrak: Perilaku berisiko seksual remaja masih belum menunjukkan penurunan. Dampak perilaku ini berupa kehamilan remaja yang meningkat di Banyumas dalam 3 tahun terakhir. Peer counselor akan dapat berperan secara optimal jika didukung oleh peran orangtua. Orangtua masih terbatas dalam menasehati, komunikasi efektif dan dukungan yang diperlukan remaja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pemberdayaan keluarga (orang tua) untuk meningkatkan perilaku asertif remaja sebagai pencegahan perilaku berisiko seksual. Metode penelitian menggunakan desain pra-experiment pre-post test without control group. Jumlah sampel penelitian sebanyak 16 orang tua yang memiliki anak remaja dengan kategori high risk. Kelompok intervensi diberi perlakuan berupa Focus Group Discussions (FGD), konseling, dan praktik komunikasi selama 8 minggu sebanyak 4 kali selama 60 menit. Analisis data menggunakan distribusi frekuensi dan uji Wilcoxon. Hasil pengukuran pengetahuan menunjukkan terdapat kenaikan nilai perolehan setiap responden setelah diberikan pelatihan dari rerata nilai 59 menjadi 68. Terdapat pengaruh yang siginifikan antara perlakuan orang tua berupa komunikasi dan dukungan terhadap peningkatan perilaku asertif anak remaja (p sebesar 0,001). Remaja mampu berperilaku asertif jika didukung oleh pola asuh orangtua, dukungan dan peran keluarga. Komunikasi efektif, dua arah dan terbuka antara orang tua dengan remaja akan memperdekat jarak orang tua dan remaja.

Abstract

Introduction: Hypertension is one of the most common cardiovascular diseases around the world. Hypertension influence so many aspect in patient’s live, not only physically but psychologically as well. Identifying and understanding factors related with treatment adherence in patient with hypertension can be very important to develop specific strategies to increase patient’s quality of life, prevent complications, and reduce re-hospitalization rate in patient with hypertension. Objective: This paper reviewed and synthesized the previous studies of factors related with treatment adherence in patient with hypertension. Method: Literature study in 15 journals through Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL), PubMed, Ovid, Taylor and Francis, and Science Direct, and manual searching from the reference list of previous obtained using keywords definition of treatment adherence, dimension of treatment adherence in patient with hypertension, and factors related with treatment adherence in patient with hypertension. Data were analyzed in tables contain title, author, year, methodology, result, and recommendation. Result: Patient adherence to treatment can be describe as an extent of patient’s behavior to follow the medication, diet, and lifestyle changes as recommended by the healthcare provider. Treatment adherence represents patient’s behavior after discussion between patient and healthcare provider. Patient have right to agree or refuse the treatment after get enough information from healthcare provider. Conclusion: The individualized approach can be very useful to assess and understand the cause of patient non-adherence with treatment hypertension. In the future this information can be useful to decide nursing theory that fit to underpinning the intervention and also can be used to plan intervention to increase treatment adherence of patient with hypertension.

Abstract

Background: Bullying can occur among school students and is dominated by adolescents. This has an impact not only on the people involved but those who see the incident will also feel it. Social factors of friends and bad experiences in childhood are also factors that influence the risk of bullying behavior. This study aimed to determine the relationship between peer social support and past experience on bullying risk behavior in adolescents. Methods: This research used a cross-sectional design method with consecutive sampling with analyses of Spearman’s test. The research was conducted on adolescents aged 12-15 years at Junior High School 2 Kedungbanteng. The instrument used is PSS-Fr, Olweus Bully/ Victim Questionnaire, and Atfiyanah. Results: This research showed that the number of respondents was dominated by men coming from grade 7. The peer social support and risk of bullying behavior variables have median scores of 13 and 12. The prevalence of victims of bullying in Junior High School 2 Kedungbanteng students is 41.3%. There was no significant relationship between peer social support and past experience of the risk of bullying behavior. Conclusion: There was no significant relationship between peer social support and past experience of the risk of bullying behavior. Abstract

Background: Changes in organ function in the elderly can hinder interaction with the environment and affect psychological well-being. A supportive environment helps the elderly accept themselves, while a poor environment can trigger depression, stress, and loneliness. Feeling neglected by family can also worsen their psychological condition. This study aimed to identify the psychological well- being of the elderly in Banteran Village. Methodology: This was a descriptive quantitative study with a cross- sectional approach, involving 95 elderly individuals from Banteran Village using simple random sampling. Data were collected through the Psychological Well-Being questionnaire and analyzed using univariate analysis, incorporating the median and minimum-maximum values.. Results: The respondents in this study were elderly individuals aged between 60-73 years, with the most dominant gender being female (65.3%). The results showed that the psychological well-being of the elderly in Banteran Village was low in 44 elderly individuals (46.3%), moderate in 30 elderly individuals (31%), and high in 21 elderly individuals (22.1%). Conclusion: The majority of respondents have low psychological well- being. Therefore, the elderly need social support from their surroundings to improve their well-being.
