Abstract

Abstract The term kriya, which refers to the art utilizing the materials of crafts Like basket weaving, pottery, etc., can be discussed not only in the context of past art works (referring particularly, in this case, to the classical or traditional works of this art) but also in the context of those that look new and different from the ones from the past. For that reason, this reference to time - past and present - is the point of departure in this article. A reference to time contains a historic aspect. What is meant in this writing is none other than the movement based on the intention of creating art works which are new in character but using as their sources the traditional arts of Indonesia. This is the movement that has eventually given birth to or revived the aforementioned term for the art concerned here, has at the same time distinguished present from past works of this art, and has as simultaneously distinguished those works of art from mere handicrafts. Abstract

Salah satu masalah dalam pengembangan profesionalisme guru selama ini adalah terkait dengan persoalan penulisan dan publikasi karya ilmiah melalui jurnal ilmiah. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk memberikan pelatihan tentang penulisan karya ilmiah terutama untuk jurnal ilmiah. Pelatihan ini diikuti oleh para guru dan siswa SMKN 1, Kalasan, Sleman, Yogyakarta, sebanyak 25 orang. Metode yang digunakan adalah  1) pemberian pengetahuan teoretis dan praktis tentang  penulisan karya ilmiah 2) penugasan pembuatan karya tulis ilmiah, 3) penyerahan karya tulis ilmiah dan 4) publikasi karya tulis ilmiah di jurnal.  Hasil kegiatan ini adalah : Pertama, semua peserta kegiatan pelatihan ini sangat antusias, bersemangat, dan mempunyai motivasi yang tinggi mengikuti pelaksanaan kegiatan pelatihan penulisan karya ilmiah. Kedua, peserta kegiatan yang berhasil membuat karya ilmiah sejumlah 5 orang atau 20% dari 25 peserta. Ketiga, kualitas artikel termasuk kategori cukup baik.

Abstract

This research describes the production process and characteristics of batik wayang kayu (batik wooden puppet) in terms of canting strokes, filler patterns, and color schemes. A qualitative descriptive method was employed, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. Data validity was ensured through persistent observation and triangulation. The findings reveal that the production process of batik wayang kayu is broadly similar to that of traditional batik, with differences mainly in the pelorodan (wax removal) and finishing stages. The canting strokes in batik wayang kayu at Jino Batik Home Industry are dominated by curved and wavy lines, with variations in thick and thin strokes creating a fluid and graceful impression. The filler patterns used are highly diverse and tailored to specific sections of the wooden puppet batik. The color schemes in batik wayang Kayu are divided into three categories: primary colors for the puppet's body, supporting colors for the puppet's attributes, and accent colors used in the isen-isen (decorative elements), often applied through canting strokes. This study highlights the unique artistic qualities of batik wayang kayu and cultural significance, offering insights into its intricate craftsmanship and aesthetic appeal.
