ABSTRACT: RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SYSTOLIC BLOOD PRESSURE AND TOTAL CHOLESTEROL LEVEL IN TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS PATIENTS IN ARAFAH CLINIC, CENTRAL LAMPUNG Background: Diabetes mellitus type 2 is a disease characterized by hyperglycemia, with the underlying cause being an increase in insulin resistance and or an increase in pancreatic beta cell dysfunction (Decroli, 2019). Diabetes mellitus, hypertension and increased cholesterol levels are conditions that are often found to be interrelated. Hypertension and increased cholesterol levels can be comorbid conditions that accompany DM (Noviyanti et al., 2015). Objective: This study aimed to determine the correlation between systolic blood pressure levels and total cholesterol levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus at the Arafah Clinic, Central Lampung. Method: The type of research used in this research is descriptive analytic with aapproach Cross Sectional. As well as samples taken from Arafah Clinic patients diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, as many as 46 patients. Results: Based on the results of thetest, it was fisher exact found that there was no correlation with the p value = 0.735 (p> 0.05). Conclusion: H0 is received, which means there is no significant correlation between systolic blood pressure and total cholesterol levels in type 2 DM patients at the Arafah Clinic, Central Lampung. Keywords: Systolic Blood Pressure, Total Cholesterol Levels, Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus  INTISARI: HUBUNGAN ANTARA TEKANAN DARAH SISTOLIK DENGAN KADAR KOLESTEROL TOTAL PADA PASIEN DIABETES MELITUS TIPE 2 DI KLINIK ARAFAH LAMPUNG TENGAH Latar Belakang: Diabetes Melitus tipe 2 merupakan suatu penyakit dengan karakteristik hiperglikemia, dengan penyebab yang mendasarinya adalah peningkatan resistensi insulin dan atau peningkatan disfungsi sel beta pankreas (Decroli, 2019).

Abstract

Background: Hypertension is a non-communicable disease (PTM) which is a very serious health problem both in the World and in Indonesia. Deaths of hypertension in the World are around 8 million every year, in Southeast Asia around 1.5 million. Increased blood pressure or hypertension is often followed by metabolic changes such as impaired glucose tolerance, hyperinsulinemia, hyperlipidemia, obesity, humeral changes such as the increased activity of renin, plasma, catecholamines, aldosterone, and followed by hemodynamic changes such as left ventricular hypertrophy, and impaired diastolic function. One contributing factor is a low level of High-Density Lipoprotein (HDL). From the subjects of 25 hypertension patients and 25 normal people, the average HDL profile of individuals with hypertension is lower with a significant difference between HDL profiles of hypertension individuals on normal individuals. Purpose: To find out the correlation between controlled and uncontrolled blood pressure with High-Density Lipoprotein (HDL) levels in hypertension patients at the K.Hakkiyah Central Lampung family doctor clinic in 2018. Methods: This study uses an analytical research method with a cross-sectional approach, which is by collecting data one at a time. Data will be processed and analyzed with a computer using SPSS for Windows version 20.0 program. Results: Based on the Spearman analysis, there is no correlation with the value of r = 0.118 and the value of p = 0.487 (p> 0.05). Conclusion: There is no correlation between controlled and uncontrolled blood pressure with high density lipoprotein (HDL) levels

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus type 2 is a metabolic disease characterized by an increase in insulin released by pancreatic beta cells and / or insulin resistance. Excessive nutrition with excess body fat accumulation increases the risk of suffering from degenerative diseases. The purpose of this study was to study whether there was a relationship between Body Mass Index with HDL levels in patients with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus FKTP patients at the Independent Practitioner Doctor K. Hakikiyah, Lampung Tengah in 2019. This research method used observational analytic with cross sectional design. The sampling technique in this study used the total sampling quota method with a total sample of 56 people collected. Data analysis using Pearson trial. The highest BMI was the excess BB category by 33 people (58.9%), the highest HDL frequency distribution, namely the Low category by 29 people (51.8%), and obtained (p-value = 0.034 and r = -0.284 Related to Body Mass Index with HDL levels having a weak direction and a negative direction, is if BMI increases, HDL levels increase and vice versa.
