Abstract

Islamic family psychology is currently being developed by a number of experts in the country, both in Islamic scientific studies and in handling practical Islamic family therapy. However, from the development efforts made, it often appears that the identity of the study is blurred between as an Islamic study and between a study from a Western perspective. The main asset to uncover the obscure curtain in the concept of this study is through tracing the psychological history of the Islamic family, so that it can provide an insight into the epistemological framework and the purpose of its study. The research succeeded in finding several points of findings: (1) Islamic family psychology emerged as a scientific study in the 1980s, after the development of family psychology studies in the 1960s in the West; (2) the emergence of Islamic family psychology studies was triggered by a mission to respond back to the pace of development of family psychology studies in the West which increasingly hegemony in the Islamic world; (3) the concept of Islamic family psychology is based on Islamic teachings which uphold human values, especially in the character of human creation; (4) the psychological dimension of each family person is always touched by Islamic teachings in order to create a Sakinah family.

Abstract

This research aims to reveal the forms of family disharmony that occur due to online gambling in Sidoarjo district, and to formulate strategic steps to resolve disharmony problems in order to achieve the goals of Islamic family law. Research analysis uses Zainab al-'Alwani's Al-Quran Family Systems Theory which is based on the basic concept of maqāṣid al-Qur'ān values in the field of Islamic family law, with the characteristics of universalistic (Kulliyyah), contextual thinking. (wāqi'iyah) and tendential (ta'ṣīliyah). This theory defines the family as not limited to the nuclear family consisting of father, mother and children, as per the western perspective, but also to marital relations, family and kinship relations. This field research method uses a qualitative approach with analytical descriptive data. Research results: (1) Family disharmony due to online gambling in Sidoarjo district occurs in three categories, namely the mild category in the form of husband and wife conflict, the moderate category in the form of husband and wife conflict involving relatives, and the serious category with a divorce suit before the religious court; (2) The strategy for overcoming family disharmony is to implement the universal values of maqāṣid al-Qur'ān in the field of family law in family life. For the mild category of disharmony by implementing the value of monotheism (maqṣud al-Tawḥīd) through strengthening the spirituality of husband and wife, and by implementing the value of couplehood (maqṣud al-Zawjiyyah) through strengthening marital commitment and gender partnership. For disharmony in the moderate category, implementation of the value of maintenance (maqṣud al-Wilāyah) through care and harmony between relatives. Meanwhile, for the serious category, the implementation of leadership values (maqṣudal-Istikhlāf) through the judge's discretion by prioritizing mediation as a solution for resolving divorce cases

Abstract

This Community Service Program is designed to revive Nabawi moral education within peri-urban Muslim families through a participatory service learning approach. The main focus of the program is to strengthen family resilience amidst the wave of digitalization that brings various social and spiritual challenges. The partner community, the congregation of Musholla Al-Fattah in Prasung Village, Sidoarjo, faces issues such as declining face-to-face interaction, increasing individualistic attitudes, weak parental supervision over gadget use, reduced attention to worship and morality, as well as the threat of children and adolescents becoming involved in online gambling practices. The program was carried out through five main stages: identifying family resilience needs, conducting interactive thematic studies of the Sirah Nabawiyah, collective reflection, participatory evaluation, and celebrating the learning outcomes. The core product was the internalization of moral values through the study of the Sirah Nabawi, with emphasis on the principles of ṣidq (honesty), amānah (responsibility), ḥilm (patience), raḥmah (compassion), and istiqāmah (consistency). The study was structured in an applicative manner and tailored to the local family context of the congregation. The results of the program demonstrated the emergence of family awareness regarding spiritual and social roles, strengthened communication among family members, and active involvement of the congregation in moral education. This PKM highlights the urgency of Nabawi-based moral education as the foundation of family resilience in peri-urban Muslim communities, while also recommending the development of similar studies that are adaptive, reflective, and sustainable in other communities with comparable dynamics.
