Abstract

Abstract

The biggest problem in raising ruminants is the issue of providing quality animal feed facilities at competitive prices and can be made available forever. The cost of animal feed can reach about 60% to 80% of the cost of production. The strategy for providing animal feed, among others, is to provide animal feed in the form of concentrate and UMMB (Urea Mineral Molasses Block) feed and the strategy of providing animal feed can also be done using the silage method. The purpose of socialization and practice of making silage and MMB to the community is so that the people of Gendayakan Village can know firsthand both in theory and practice about how to make silage and MMB so that the knowledge received is expected to be useful and implemented later by residents. The method in community service that we do is a descriptive method by conducting outreach to the community in Gendayakan Village. The results of this service activity show that the Gendayakan Village community is able to choose quality feed ingredients, namely silage and UMMB and livestock kept by partners show an increase in production before and after the activity, farmers are asked to fill out a questionnaire with the aim of knowing the level of understanding of farmers about the procedure feed processing before and after activities.

Abstract

One common household waste often encountered and rarely processed is used cooking oil. Used cooking oil is the residual oil from frying that has been repeatedly used. The common practice of reusing or improperly disposing of it by the community is considered hazardous as it has the potential to poison the body and pollute the environment. One effort to utilize used cooking oil is by recycling the waste into raw materials for making aromatherapy candles and essential oil scented soaps. This purpose activity is empower the community of Nglebak to utilize household waste and transform it into economic materials. This activity is carried out through research methods, material presentation, processing practice, and discussion. The research results on aromatherapy candles indicate that a formulation of used cooking oil and coconut wax at a ratio of 2:1 can produce ecofriendly aromatherapy candles with an ideal appearance and duration. The research results on soap indicate that stirring for 30 minutes with a volume of 60 mL of KOH (Potassium Hydroxide) is the ideal formulation for making essential oil scented soaps as it yields the most with a pH that complies with SNI No. 40-4058-1996

Abstract

Abstract

Rising demand for natural colorants, coupled with health concerns over synthetic dyes such as Red K3 and Red K10, motivates the development of plant-based alternatives for cosmetics applications. Here, we formulated lipstick incorporating anthocyanins extracted from Binahong (Anredera cordifolia) fruits using acidified water (0.01% HCl, v/v) and purified via Amberlite XAD-7 HP resin. Refined Binahong fruit extract (RBFE) was analyzed by UV-Vis spectrophotometry and LC-MS, which classified its anthocyanins as C-type based on absorbance patterns at pH 1 and 4.5. This indicating an acyl groups on the B-ring. Four anthocyanins were identified: pelargonidin-3-O-glucoside (m/z 433), pelargonidin-3-O-(6”-malonyl) glucoside (m/z 519), petunidin-3-O-(6”-malonyl) glucoside (m/z 565), and cyanidin-3-O-rutinoside (m/z 595). Anthocyanins exhibited a bathochromic sshift with increasing pH and greater stability under acidic, refrigerated storage than at room temperature. Lipsticks formulated with 0-25% anthocyanins met SNI standards for pH and melting point. Antioxidant activity (IC50) improved with anthocyanins concentration, ranging from 24.52 ppm (0%) to 18.20 ppm (25%), compared to 12.91 ppm for Trolox and 15.02 ppm for RBFE. Higher anthocyanin concentration also produced more intense red coloration, demonstrating Binahong fruit's potential as a functional, health-conscious colorant for cosmetics formulations.
