Abstract

Covid 19 pandemic that strike the world, has had a major impact on changes people's lives. The changes as a result of the application of social distancing, which is done to slow and stop the spread of disease, termed ‘New Normal’. This study aims to determine changes in socio-spatial conditions on the use and to determine the readiness of public spaces in Pontianak in accommodating the new normal. In addition, the results of this study will contribute ideas related to the development of learning in designing public spaces in the future. Mix Method approach has been used. Importance and performance analysis have been used to analyze the quantitative datas and the qualitative data has been observed by place centered mapping. By comparing the quantitative and qualitative output, the result show the public space readiness indicator are: all public spaces with good performance in accommodating recreational and social activities; two public space with good performance in accommodating sport activities; The need to improved ‘health protocols’ control and WASH; recessive' mechanism in apply physical distancing; inconsistency of Expectation – Behavior; and unimportance of the tele-working / tele-learning.

Abstract

Central Market in Pontianak City is one of the trade centers that was first built in Pontianak City by people of Chinese descent. along with the growth of this region as a trade center in Pontianak City, this region suffered a setback due to the transition of the city economic growth center which is no longer fully oriented to activities on the banks of the Kapuas River. The purpose of this study is to carry out an inventory and identification of typical characteristics of Shophouse building (RUKO) in the Central Market area in Pontianak City, as well as identifying the diversity of the appearance of the Chinatown building facade in Pontianak through the study of building typology and the changing pattern of facade appearance. This study uses a rationalistic-qualitative approach with a qualitative descriptive approach to the facade typology of Ruko buildings in the Central Market area in Pontianak City. Descriptive research flow starts from the information units or objects that are observed gradually, the findings are dialogue (abstracted) to compile general themes that at the end of the abstraction process, a final finding can be found in the form of local theory (character and typology of Ruko in the Market area Central in Pontianak City). The form of analysis of this research is to use a descriptive approach. The results of this study indicate that there are three types of doors that are dominantly used, namely: (a) Doors with a Rolling Door top and folding side models, (b) Doors with Jalousie, and: (c) Wooden sliding folding doors. There are four types of windows, namely: (a) Window glass with grid pattern, (b) Glass window with Plain model, (c) Window with Nako model, (d) Window with Jalusi model. There are three types of signage (signage), namely (a) Placing markers (signage) on the walls and windows of buildings, (b) Placing signage on the arcade section, (c) model of laying signage on the arcade pole. There are four typologies of the roof, namely: (a) Flat Roof (Dak), (b) Saddle Roof, (c) Limasan Roof, (d) Limasan Roof. There are four typologies of shading, namely: (a) Shading with Arcade, (b) Shading with Canopy, (c) Shading with Extension of Roof Tritisan, (d) Shading with Dividing Wall and (e) Shading by Balcony.

Abstract

The city of Singkawang, which is located on the west coast of the island of Borneo, is thought to have existed around the 18th century, and has links to a gold mining center managed by gold miners from Chinese origin in Monterado. The Central Government together with the City Government of Singkawang, have designated Singkawang City as one of the Heritage Cities in Indonesia, through the RTBL City Pusaka program in 2016. The Hong Kong Market area is one of the blocks for the Heritage City of Singkawang, centered on Jalan Setia Budi and Jalan Bawal . The Hong Kong Singkawang Market is one of the centers of nighttime activities in Singkawang City The purpose of this research is to carry out an inventory and identification of the typical characteristics of shop houses (RUKO) in the Hongkong Market area in Singkawang City, and to identify the diversity of façade displays of Chinatown shophouses in Singkawang through a study of the building typology and the changing pattern of its façade. This study uses a qualitative-rationalistic approach with a descriptive-qualitative approach to the typology of shophouses in the Pasar Hongkong area in Singkawang City. The descriptive research flow starts from units of information or objects of observation which gradually, the findings are dialoged (abstracted) to compile general themes which at the end of the abstraction process, can produce a final finding in the form of a local theory (character and typology of shop houses in the Pasar area. Hong Kong in the City of Singkawang). The Technology Absorption Rate (TKT) of this applied research is at level 4, which is a prototype of a heritage building data collection system in Singkawang City.
