Abstract

Tiger grouper fish commonly known as "groupers" and it is the one commodity that has domestic and international market opportunities. Purpose of this study is to determine the effect of different feeding pellets and squid on the growth and survival of tiger grouper  (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus). The study was carried out on April 25th, 2014 until May 24th, 2014 in Hatchery home scale, Saga vilage, District of  Tanjungpandan,  Belitung  province.  The  experimental  design  in  this  study  is  using  a  complete randomized  design  (CRD)  with  2  treatments  and  4  replicates,  they  are  treatment  A  (pellets)  and treatment  B  (squid).  Result  shows  the  highest  average  weight  gain  of  biomass  tiger  grouper  seed obtained  on  treatment  A  (pellets)  biomass  weight  gain  is  16.18  grams  and  survival  100%,  whereas treatment B (squid) the biomass weight gain 11.53 grams and survival 85%. The results of t test step, note that the value of T count is greater than the T table which means the ratio of feed pellets and squid provide  highly  significant  influence  on  the  growth  and  survival  of  seed  tiger  grouper  (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus). Water quality maintenance media for research is still at a decent range of temperature is from 27.5-30°C, pH 7.6 - 8, and dissolved oxygen 3.4-5.4 ppm.  Key Words: tiger grouper, growth, survival rate, feed

Abstract

Gift tilapia (Oreochromis sp.) Is one type of fish which are potential to be cultivated intensivelybecause tilapia gift has favorable properties, namely: rapid growth, eating all the food (omnivores),high tolerance to various environmental conditions, and resistant to disease attacks. Seeing the potential of the plant Azolla sp. which is a pest in agricultural land which is very abundant anduntapped by the community then the Azolla sp. used as a natural alternative feed on tilapia seedgift, because the high protein content and amino acid composition essensialnya complete. Thisresearch was conducted in August to September 2010, housed at the Laboratory of AquacultureFaculty of Fisheries University of Pekalongan. With the aim to determine the effect of feeding onthe growth of Azolla sp tilapia gift. The research was conducted based on completely randomizeddesign with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments applied were given doses of naturalfood Azolla sp, ie A = 2%, B = 4%, C = 6%, and D = 8%. Results obtained from the study is oftreatment D showed the highest growth in average body weight with average seed weight 2.81 g,followed by treatment C, B and A, each with average seed weight 1.19 g, 1.71 g, 2.41 g Theanalysis showed that differences in the dose range of Azolla sp very real effect on the growth oftilapia seed gift. While the results of Orthogonal Polynomial analysis showed D treatment weresignificantly different with treatment C, B, A. The water quality of the media during the studywithin reasonable range, the temperature between 29-32 º C, pH ranged from 7.0 to 7.2 and DOranges from 3-5 ppt.Keywords: Azolla sp., alternative feed, Gift tilapia

Abstract

This  study  aimed  to  determine  the  effect  of  the  differences  and  optimal  salinity  levels  on  the efficiency  of  feed  utilization  in  Oreochromis  sp.  Method  used  in  this  study  is  the  experimental laboratory methods. Research carried out by completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 3  replications. The  treatment  includes  a  treatment  with  0  ppt  salinity,  Treatment  B:  5  ppt, Treatment C: 10 ppt, Treatment D: 15 ppt.Differences in the low salinity culture media failed to give a positive response to the efficiency of feed utilization of fish seed is cultivated. Decreasing salinity is used, it will affect the efficiency of feed utilization of tilapia seed. In the C treatment (10 ppt  salinity)  gives  the  maximum  response  to  the  efficiency  of  feed  utilization    Oreochromis  sp. which,  at  85.95%  followed  by  treatment  D  (74.26%),  treatment  B  (58.68%)  and  treatment A (48.49%). Treatment differences in salinity media on the efficiency of feed utilization Oreochromis s.  produces a quadratic curve with equation Y = 45.69 + 5.37 X - 0.22 X2. Water quality of the media during the study the water temperature is 25 - 28oC, pH 7.3, and DO from 4.5 to 5.6 ppm, so it is still within the range appropriate for the survival of Oreochromis sp. Keywords: salinity, the efficiency of feed utilization

Abstract

pakan merupakan salah satu faklor yang dapat rnenunjang dalam perkembangan budidaya ikan secara intensif maupun semi intensif, baik ikan air tawar, ikan air payatl, maupun ikan air laut. Sedangkan pakan itu dibutuhkan oleh ikan sejak mulai dari ukuran larva (burayak), sampai ukuran induk. penggunaan lemak dalam pakan ikan sangat penting arlinya dalam menunjang pertumbuhan ikan. Karen'a lemak merupakan sumber energi yang memiliki nilai cukup tinggi dibanding protein dan karbohidrat. Penggunaan lemak sebagai sumber energi sebenamya hanya sebagai "Protein sparing" yaitu lemak mempunyai fungsi untuk menggantikan protein sebagai sumber energi, sehingga p.nggun*n protein dapat dihemat. Untuk memaksimalkan pertumbuhan maka penggunaan lemakbalam pakan buatan diperlukan dalam jumlah tertentu. Pertumbuhan ikan sangat dipengaruhi oleh kualitas pakan oleh sebab itu perlu dilakukan penelitian, pengaruh penambahan berbagai dosis minyak ikan yang berbeda pada pakan buatan tefiadap pertumbuhan benih ikan patin.Kata Kunci : Minyak lkan, Dosis, Pertumbuhan, Benih Ikan Patin
