Abstract

Pendidikan karakter merupakan pelajaran yang begitu penting bagi bangsa Indonesia dewasa ini, mengingat deklinasi moral yang begitu memprihatinkan yang melanda generasi muda. Terjadinya konflik dimana-mana, pemerkosaan semakin merajalelah, korupsi semakin menjadi-jadi merupakan fakta bahwa deklinasi moral yang terjadi di Nusantara ini semakin tinggi. Untuk itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat; (1) bagaimana guru menanamkan nilai-nilai karakter peserta didik melalui cerita rakyat, dan (2) mengetahui relevansi cerita rakyat dengan penerapan pendidikan karakter sebagai upaya pengikisan moral peserta didik. Adapun luaran yang ingin dicapai dalam penelitian ini adalah : (1) penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memperkaya khasanah ilmu pengetahuan khususnya di bidang pengajaran sastra dengan menggunakan pendekatan lokal (teori antropologi sastra). Disamping itu, penelitian ini diharapkan dapat dijadikan referensi terkait pengajaran sastra, (2) penelitan ini akan dijadikan buku pedoman pengajaran sastra (buku ajar) dengan menggunakan pendekatan antropologi sastra, (3) penelitian ini akan dipublikasikan di jurnal Ilmiah Reform (Jurnal Pendidikan, Sosial, dan Budaya) dengan ISSN : 2580-0310 dan diseminarkan pada seminar regional maupun nasional. Metode metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan antropologi sastra. Adapun langkah-langkah dalam pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik observasi, teknik interview, teknik rekaman, teknik transkrip, dan teknik dokumentasi. Sedangkan teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik content analysis. Adapun hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa; (1) guru menggunakan cerita rakyat untuk menanamkan karakter peserta didik dengan cara siswa terlebih dahulu membaca cerita rakyat lokal kemudian peserta didik dapat mengambil nilai-nilai yang terkandung didalam cerita rakyat tersebut, (2) terdapat relevansi antara cerita rakyat dan pendidikan karakter. Dalam artian bahwa didalam cerita rakyat (La Raji dan Ana Fare Pidu), terdapat nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter, sehingga cerita rakyat dapat dijadikan alat untuk untuk menyikapi deknilasi moral peserta didik.

Abstract

ABSTRACTBased on the results of situation analysis, the main problems faced by partners are not being able to communicate in English (English for Tourism) and the quality of services provided is still low (Hospitality) as well as a lack of technology-based guidance. Based on this data, the aim of this community service is to improve English language skills for Tourism improve the quality of services provided to Hospitality visitors and develop the E-Guide Module. Meanwhile, other objectives to be achieved in this service include, 1) providing skills to partners in developing their own regions; 2)  providing  skills in developing/managing various kinds of rides that can attract, both local and foreign. Based on problem, the solution offered in this community service is to carry out a series of community participation activities based on CBT (community-based tourism) attended by 20 participants. Community participation prioritizes lecture, discussion, practicum, and demonstration methods. The outcome is that partners have knowledge and skills in English and have good character and level of service. Partners are able to become local tour guides. Target partners have competences in developing  areas so able to attract visitor interest. Keywords: Tourism, Hospitality,  E-Guide Module.  ABSTRAKBerdasarkan hasil analisis situasi, permasalahan utama yang dihadapi mitra adalah belum mampunya berkomunikasi dalam bahasa Inggris (English for Tourism) dan kualitas pelayanan yang diberikan masih rendah (Hospitality) serta kurangnya bimbingan berbasis teknologi. Berdasarkan data tersebut, tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan Bahasa Inggris untuk Pariwisata, meningkatkan kualitas pelayanan yang diberikan kepada pengunjung Perhotelan dan mengembangkan Modul E-Guide. Sedangkan tujuan lain yang ingin dicapai dalam pengabdian ini antara lain, 1) memberikan keterampilan kepada mitra dalam membangun daerahnya sendiri; 2) memberikan keterampilan dalam mengembangkan/mengelola berbagai macam wahana yang dapat menarik minat baik lokal maupun asing. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, maka solusi yang ditawarkan dalam pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah dengan melaksanakan serangkaian kegiatan partisipasi masyarakat berbasis CBT (community basedtourism) yang diikuti oleh 20 peserta. Partisipasi masyarakat mengutamakan metode ceramah, diskusi, praktikum, dan demonstrasi. Hasilnya mitra mempunyai pengetahuan dan keterampilan berbahasa Inggris serta mempunyai karakter dan tingkat pelayanan yang baik. Mitra mampu menjadi pemandu wisata lokal. Mitra binaan mempunyai kompetensi dalam mengembangkan kawasan sehingga mampu menarik minat pengunjung. Kata Kunci: Wisatawan, Rumah sakit, Modul E-Guide

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze the implementation of Team Game Tournament (TGT) in improving student’s listening skill. The design of this research is one-group pretest-posttest design type pre-experimental research design. The researcher chose one class as a sample. The number of sample selected was 24 students. The data obtain from multiple choices to fill the blank test. The researcher found that the result of the students’ mean score of pre-test was 79,58 and it was improved to 91,25 in post-test. In addition, the result shows a significant improvement in students’ listening skill after the implementation of Team Game Tournament (TGT). The application of TGT not only enhances listening skill but also increases students’ motivation and participation in the learning process. Therefore, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted while the null hypothesis is rejected. Based on the result analysis, the researcher occluded that the implementation of TGT can improve students’ listening skill.

Abstract

This study explores the effectiveness of digital writing tools in enhancing creative writing skills among second-semester students in the English Department at Qamarul Huda Badaruddin University in 2024. With the increasing integration of technology in education, digital tools offer innovative ways to support and improve students' writing abilities. This research aims to assess the current creative writing skills of students, identify the digital writing tools they frequently use, evaluate the impact of these tools on their writing, and understand their perceptions towards the use of technology in the writing process. A mixed-method approach was employed, combining quantitative surveys, qualitative interviews, and analysis of writing samples. Participants included second-semester students who underwent a pre-test to evaluate their initial creative writing skills. Following this, they received training and used various digital writing tools throughout the semester. A post-test assessed any improvements in their writing abilities, complemented by follow-up interviews to gather in-depth insights into their experiences. The results indicated a significant improvement in students' creative writing skills, as evidenced by higher post-test scores. Students reported increased motivation, better organization, and enhanced creativity when using digital tools. Commonly used tools included word processors, grammar checkers, and creative writing software, which collectively contributed to a more engaging and effective writing process. This study concludes that digital writing tools can substantially enhance creative writing skills among university students. The findings provide practical recommendations for educators to incorporate these tools into their teaching methods, thereby fostering a more interactive and productive learning environment.
