Abstract

ABSTRACT Photography needs are now a part of daily activities, because the images that are produced can be used directly in expressing buying and selling activities and activities on new media. This phenomenon is a great opportunity for Creative Media State Polytechnic Photography Students. But the problem is that not many Photography students know the procedures for making a good or representative digital portfolio to be displayed in the online media for promotion of Photography Services. For this reason, this research has produced a representative digital portfolio for every photography student in order to increase the selling power to users of photography services both online and offline. This research uses a method with a qualitative approach. Data collection was also carried out by pretest and posttest control as a measuring tool for the success of the socialization of digital portfolio creation and literature study. The results of this study can be the basis for creating a digital portfolio as well as providing benchmarks for the marketing of Photography Services. Keywords: Photography, Digital Portofolio, new Media

Abstract

Dalam era globalisasi saat ini tidak sedikit kesenian yang punah atau tidak lagi dipertunjukan. Keresahan-keresahan akan hal tersebut banyak dirasakan oleh para budayawan maupun seniman. Dengan munculnya kesenian baru yang turut beradaptasi dengan era saat ini dengan tanpa menghilangkan nilai-nilai tradisinya masih dapat dirasakan pada kesenian gambar Motekar. Penelitian yang dilakukan penulis merupakan analisis deskriptif terhadap gambar Motekar di era globalisasi saat ini. Pengumpulan data dan fakta mengenai gambar Motekar telah penulis lakukan baik langsung maupun tidak langsung. Dengan manghasilkan kesimpulan bahwa gambar Motekar sebagai kesenian baru yang beradaptasi terhadap arus globalisasi saat ini terus berupaya eksis dengan mempertahankan nilai luhur meskipun dengan visual yang dimodernisasi.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the structure of the traditional wedding ceremony and the White Crocodile performance in Curug Dahu Village. Signifying the concept of denotation and connotation of the White Crocodile in the traditional wedding ceremony in Curug Dahu Village, and analyzing the relationship between the White Crocodile communication elements to the phenomenon of polygamy in the Curug Dahu village. The research method used is a qualitative research method. The data collection technique was carried out starting with literature study, observation and interviews accompanied by documentation. The object of this research is the White Crocodile in a Sundanese traditional ceremony in Curug Dahu Village. This research uses Roland Barthes' Semiotics theory. Abstract

The Ragen Panganten Batik motif is one of the Batik motifs created by Rd. Lalam Wiranatakusumah, produced by Batik Komar. The motif was reconstructed based on the ancient manuscript of Siksakandang Kares and the culture of the Sundanese people. In Ragen Panganten's batik motif, it has Kasundaan meaning and identity. Ragen Panganten's batik motif consists of various decorations, such as the stylization of the Julang bird, Wijayakusumah plants and Binokasih's crown, to the colors used that reflect Kasundaan's identity. The meaning that comes from the Ragen Panganten motif is a symbol of marriage. The Ragen Panganten Batik motif, which according to Sundanese cosmology has symbols of emptiness and content, encompasses a paradoxical dualistic nature. In addition, the Ragen Panganten batik motif is always based on a triangular shape or pattern. The significance of the triangular shape in Sundanese society is closely related to the tritangtu pattern, the life concept of the Sundanese people. Keywords: Kasundaan, Batik, Ragen Panganten, Rd. Lalam Wiranatakusumah, yang di produksi oleh Batik Komar. Motif tersebut direkonstruksi berdasarkan naskah kuno Siksakandang Karesian dan budaya masyarakat Sunda. Dalam batik motif Ragen Panganten memiliki makna dan identitas Kasundaan. Motif batik Ragen Panganten yang terdiri dari ragam hias yang seperti stilasi burung Julang, Tumbuhan Wijayakusumah dan Mahkota Binokasih sampai dengan warna yang dipakai mencerminkan identitas Kasundaan. Makna yang muncul dari motif Ragen Panganten merupakan simbol dari perkawinan. Motif Batik Ragen Panganten, memiliki simbol dari kosong dan isi, dalam pandangan kosmologi Sunda termasuk sifat dualistik yang paradoks. Selain itu, motif batik Ragen Panganten selalu dilandasi dari bentuk atau pola segitiga. Makna bentuk segitiga dalam masyarakat Sunda erat kaitannya dengan pola tritangtu yang merupakan konsep kehidupan masyarakat Sunda. Kata Kunci : Kasundaan, Batik, Ragen Panganten, Rd. Lalam

Abstract

Graffiti is often seen as something that damages the aesthetics of a place, but in fact, graffiti has artistic value and messages contained within it. In this article, the author conducted an analysis and interpretation of a graffiti found in a corner of a city. The author used Charles Sanders Pierce's semiotic theory to analyze the signs contained in the graffiti. The results showed that the graffiti was a representation of various objects and interpretants, ranging from anxiety and restlessness to social criticism of the phenomenon of road accidents. The author also highlights the importance of understanding semiotic theory in reading and interpreting a sign. In addition, the author reveals the role of graffiti in influencing a person's thoughts and actions, as well as its relationship with social and cultural phenomena in society. This article is expected to provide a deeper understanding of graffiti and the importance of seeing it as a work of art and form of expression in society.

Abstract

ABSTRACT                                                      This article delves into the role of smartphone cameras as marketing icons through the analysis of Roland Barthes' perspective on advertising strategies. The primary focus is to explore how smartphone cameras serve not only as functional tools but also as cultural symbols influencing consumer perceptions. The main objective of this article is to elucidate the marketing strategies of smartphone cameras through Barthes' conceptual framework, identifying signs and symbols used in advertisements, and investigating their impact on modern consumer culture. The article also aims to provide in-depth insights into how positive and emotional images are crafted to reinforce the position of smartphone cameras as marketing icons. The research methodology employs Roland Barthes' analytical approach, particularly the concept of semiotics, to dissect the advertising structure of smartphone cameras. Case studies are used to provide concrete and comprehensive examples of how marketing strategies are implemented in smartphone camera advertisements. The analysis results indicate that smartphone cameras are not merely utilized as technological tools but are also constructed as symbols of status and self-expression. Advertising strategies successfully create myths surrounding smartphone cameras, influencing consumer perceptions and shaping a positive image deeply rooted in consumer culture. In conclusion, it can be inferred that smartphone camera marketing goes beyond technical features, leveraging symbolic concepts to create a deeper allure. This conclusion underscores the importance of understanding semiotic aspects in advertising to unearth broader implications related to consumer culture and the dynamics of marketing technological products.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi peran fotografi sebagai alat komunikasi dalam konteks promosi cagar budaya, dengan fokus pada Reruntuhan Radio Malabar Gunung Puntang. Mengadopsi pendekatan kualitatif dan studi kasus, penelitian ini menganalisis secara mendalam karya-karya fotografi yang menggambarkan keindahan dan nilai sejarah reruntuhan tersebut. Hasil analisis visual mengungkapkan bahwa fotografi tidak hanya mengabadikan keadaan fisik, tetapi juga menciptakan narasi visual yang memikat. Penggunaan komposisi yang baik, pencahayaan yang cerdas, dan fokus pada elemen estetik berhasil meningkatkan daya tarik foto-foto tersebut. Temuan dari wawancara dengan masyarakat dan pengunjung menunjukkan bahwa fotografi mampu merangsang kesadaran, apresiasi, dan keterlibatan emosional terhadap cagar budaya. Strategi visual yang efektif, termasuk penggunaan media sosial sebagai saluran distribusi, juga terbukti dapat memperluas jangkauan pesan promosi cagar budaya. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi bagi pengembangan strategi komunikasi visual yang lebih inovatif dan berdampak positif dalam pelestarian dan peningkatan apresiasi terhadap warisan budaya di Indonesia. Dengan demikian, fotografi bukan hanya sebagai alat dokumentasi, tetapi juga sebagai medium yang dapat memberdayakan kesadaran masyarakat dan mendukung upaya pelestarian cagar budaya di tengah arus perkembangan teknologi dan perubahan sosial.

Abstract

This research discusses the Wayang Tavip performance with a focus on the analysis of aesthetic communication in a public context. The research method used is descriptive to gain an in-depth understanding of the aesthetic aspects contained in the Wayang Tavip performance. Wayang Tavip is an art form that combines traditional elements with a modern public context. This study identifies aesthetic elements such as visual design, color usage, stage arrangement, and artistic expression used in the Wayang Tavip performance. Additionally, this research explores how aesthetic communication in the Wayang Tavip performance can influence the audience in a public context. The results of the study show that the Wayang Tavip performance possesses aesthetic richness that creates a deep visual and emotional experience for the audience. The aesthetics presented in this performance have the potential to enrich and expand the public's understanding of traditional art, while also attracting the attention of the younger generation.
