Abstract

Nowadays, the ASEAN Community supported by three pillars: political-security, economy and social-cultural pillars have come into force since the end of 2015. Entry into force of the ASEAN Community is automatically binding on all government and society in ASEAN, including in Surakarta. Some preliminary studies indicate that there are still many government officials do not understand the concept of the ASEAN Community. Village as well as sub-district officials are most strategic unit because they are dealing directly with the public. Therefore, strengthening the understanding among village and sub-district officials is important so that the concept of ASEAN Community can be clearly understood by the society and they are expected to obtain benefit from the ongoing ASEAN Community.Key words: ASEAN Community, ASEAN Economic Community, local government, small scale enterprise.

Abstract

Social media has evolved into a communication tool that promotes inclusivity, allowing persons with disabilities to share a variety of messages with their audiences. @jennifernatalie_ is a deaf Social Media Influencer (SMI) who uses TikTok to share sign language-related educational content. Despite her difficulty talking verbally, @jennifernatalie_ is capable of generating quite high levels of engagement with her followers. The goal of this study is to analyze @jennifernatalie_'s sign language educational content in terms of creating engagement with followers along five characteristics that support SMI communications. This study used a qualitative study content analysis methodology. The research data was gathered by assessing the content of short videos on TikTok @jennifernatalie_ and enhanced by literature reviews from various sources relevant to the research issues. The findings showed that @jennifernatalie_ was capable of presenting the five dimensions of SMI communications to generate engagement through her educational TikTok posts.

Abstract

Teman Bus is an implementation of the Buy The Service program from the Ministry of Transportation Indonesia which was launched in 11 Indonesian cities during the pandemic and requires cashless system. This study raises the question of transitioning from a free subsidy system to a paid cashless system in public transportation by 2023. What kind of promotional strategy has Teman Bus employed to capture the public's attention to adaptation? Using content analysis with a qualitative approach, through the Instagram of @teman_bus, researchers aim to examine the promotional strategies employed in the content uploads by Teman Bus. The resulting findings are that @teman_bus takes advantage of renewal along with adapting to new pandemic habits, following a great content strategy which consists of credibility, shareable, useful or fun, interesting, relevant, different and on brand such as centralized content from ministry of transportation, regularly holding giveaways and the most prominent approach is its 'on brand' consistency using repetition and persistence for uploading the content, the repetitive nature of the predetermined content template serves as a persistent promotional strategy, effectively garnering attention, facilitating learning, and promoting a shift in people's habits towards using cashless methods with Teman Bus for public transportation.
