Abstract

Sumber daya perairan yaitu lintah laut (Discodoris sp.) dapat dibuat menjadi minuman fungsional. Lintah laut telah dilaporkan memiliki sifat antioksidan dan mengandung taurin. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui penerimaan konsumen pada minuman serbuk fungsional lintah laut. Tiga formula terbaik yang diterima secara organoleptik yaitu Formula T1 (Discodoris sp. 20%, jahe 40%, 20% curcuma, lemon 20%.), T2 Formula (Discodoris sp. 25%, jahe 40%, 15% curcuma, lemon 20%) dan T3 Formula (Discodoris sp. 30%,. jahe 40%, 10% curcuma, lemon 20%).

Abstract

Marine Macroalgae Sargassum sp is a one of macroalgae species that develop rapidly and distributed widely in the South-West Coastal of Aceh. However, marine macroalgae has not yet utilized optimally by Aceh’s community especially comercial product that give value added. This research was conducted by using marine macroalgae Sargassum sp that derived from West Aceh coastal. The measurement of antioxidant activity was undertaken by using CUPRAC (cupric ion reducing antioxidant capacity) method. The aim of this research is to explore bioactive compound to marine macroalgae Sargassum sp as antioxidant.  Sargassum sp is a brown algae that generally attached in dead coral substrate or rocky intertidal zone that influenced by low tide. The result of measurement of antioxindat activity is 180,535 µmol troloks/g dried powder. Thi is suspected that hidrocinamate acid is polyfenol groups that role as antioxidant substance becauce it possess hyrodgen atom from functional hydroxyl groups that contributed by free radical.Keywords : Macroalgae, Sargasssum sp, Antioxidant, West Aceh

Abstract

Abstrak Mikroalga Chlorella vulgaris memiliki potensi yang sangat besar sebagai bahan baku pembuatan biodiesel. Hal ini karena Chlorella vulgaris memiliki kandungan lipid yang dapat mencapai 53% dari berat kering apabila dioptimalkan dengan manipulasi kondisi stress seperti kelaparan nitrogen dan peningkatan salinitas selama tahap kultivasi. Tulisan ini mengulas metode kultivasi dan metode ekstraksi yang efisien untuk menghasilkan lipid. Metode kultivasi dua tahap menjadi metode terbaik dengan peningkatan lipid yang optimal yakni 53%. Metode ekstraksi Subcritical Water Extraction (SWE) menunjukkan perolehan lipid terbaik yakni mencapai 65,94%. Komposisi lipid yang dihasilkan, didominasi oleh Saturated Fatty Acids (SFA) dan Monounsaturated Fatty Acids (MUFA) memastikan biodiesel yang dihasilkan memiliki stabilitas oksidatif, cetane number tinggi, dan memenuhi standar internasional. Selain itu, Chlorella vulgaris juga dapat berperan dalam bioremediasi air limbah, sehingga meningkatkan efisiensi ekonomi dan lingkungan. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya optimalisasi kultivasi dan teknologi ekstraksi untuk mendukung produksi biodiesel yang berkelanjutan Kata kunci— Kultivasi mikroalga; ekstraksi lipid; potensi biodiesel Abstract Microalgae Chlorella vulgaris has great potential as a raw material for biodiesel production. This is because Chlorella vulgaris has a lipid content that can reach 53% of dry weight if optimized by manipulating stress conditions such as nitrogen deficiency and increased salinity during the cultivation stage. This paper reviews efficient cultivation and extraction methods to produce lipids. The two-stage cultivation method is the best method with an optimal increase in lipids, which is 53%. The Subcritical Water Extraction (SWE) extraction method shows the best lipid yield, reaching 65.94%. The composition of the resulting lipids is dominated by Saturated Fatty Acids (SFA) and Monounsaturated Fatty Acids (MUFA), so the resulting biodiesel has oxidative stability, a high cetane number, and meets international standards. In addition, Chlorella vulgaris can also play a role in wastewater bioremediation, thereby increasing economic and environmental efficiency. This study emphasizes the importance of optimizing cultivation and extraction technologies to support sustainable biodiesel production.
