Abstract

Kabupaten Simeulue dikelilingi oleh pulau-pulau kecil yang kaya akan keanekaragaman sumberdaya ikan yakni tuna. Interaksi (timbal balik) antara kelompok organisme terhadap lingkungannya merupakan peran penting dari sistem ekologi. Penentuan status ekologi dapat dijadikan sebagai dasar dalam upaya pemantauan, pengelolaan dan keberlanjutan perairan terhadap daerah penangkapan ikan tuna. Aktifitas penangkapan perikanan tangkap akan memengaruhi perubahan lingkungan yang akan berdampak pada keberlanjutan, keberadaan dan keragaman biota laut. Tujuan dari penelitian untuk menganalisis status keberlanjutan ekologi daerah penangkapan ikan tuna di Perairan Simeulue Timur. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Mei-Juli 2021. Metode yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini dengan cara pengamatan dan pengukuran karakteristik lingkungan perairan serta melakukan wawancara. Atribut yang dilihat meliputi: kondisi lingkungan perairan, konservasi wilayah laut, aktivitas penangkapan, pemanfaatan sumberdaya pelagis, daya dukung lingkungan, jenis alat tangkap, volume alat tangkap, tingkat kesesuaian penangkapan. Status keberlanjutan dimensi ekologi didapatkan nilai sebesar 79,74. Hasil yang diperoleh tergolong dalam baik berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Bromelain enzyme is an enzyme contained in pineapple. The enzyme bromelain is a proteolytic enzyme that it has the properties hydrolyze proteins into their constituent elements. The purpose of this study is a way to improve the utilization of protein by adding the enzyme bromelain into artificial feed to increase fish growth tawes. This study have using an experimental method and these was conducted from March 2016 to May 2016 at the Hatchery of Teuku Umar Teuku Umar, West Aceh district using completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 3 replications. Treatment of dose of the enzyme bromelain is differences, namely P0 with doses of 0%, P1 with a dose of 2%, with a dose of 4% P2 and P3 with a dose of 6%. Test fish are given feed ad libitum or until full. The results showed that the enzyme bromelain with different doses have not significantly affect the efficiency of feed utilization and survival. While enzyme bromelain with different doses have significantly affect to protein efficiency ratio, growth rate and the growth rate of biomass show. Value range of protein efficiency ratio is ±1,86-2.26%, value range of the growth rate is ± 2.16 - 2.64% and the rate of growth of the biomass is ± 0.019 to 0.117 grams. The quality of water, i.e. temperature is 26o-30oC and pH value is 7.7-8.4.

Abstract

Seaweeds are marine macro algae that can be found attach to the bottom shallow coastal waters. There are three major groups of seaweeds namely brown algae (Phaeophyta), red (Rhodophyta) and green (Chlorophyta). Padina australis is one of brown algae which mostly found in the West-South of Aceh coastal Area.  Seaweed contains bioactive compound which can serve as a defense from ultraviolet radiation that caused hyperpigmentation effect The purpose of this study is to analyse the tyrosinase inhibitory activity of P. australis extract from West-South Aceh. The results shown that the methanol extract of P. australis possess phytochemical properties such as flavonoids, tannin and saponin. tyrosinase inhibitory activity of P. australis  methanol extract  is the best extract which can be inhibit monophenolase with  IC50 : 293.520 µg/ml and IC50 = 13.571.067 µg/ml in diphenolase pathway with kojic acid as positive control. Moreover, chloroform and n-hexane extract have no activity of tyrosinase inhibitor. Therefore, new finding of tyrosinase inhibitor agent from marine macroalgae P. australis give the fruitfull information for cosmeceutical industry. P. australis parts could be complementary each other in providing the raw material of cosmetic product.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectivity of seaweeds extract (Ulva lactuca) as an antifungal in the control of kerling (Tor sp) infected with saprolegnia and achlya fungal. The research was conducted in May 2018 at the MIPA Laboratory, Syiah Kuala University and the Hatchery of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Teuku Umar University. The research method was experimental with a completely randomized design (RAL), 3 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment given was immersion of kerling fish seeds infected with fungi in a solution of sea lettuce extract with the concentration of treatment namely: K (control) = 0 ppm, P1=5 ppm, P2=10 ppm, dan P3=15 ppm. Phytochemical test results showed that the content of bioactive compounds contained in ethanol extract of seaweed were alkaloids, steroids and phenolic/tannins. Ethanol extract of sea lettuce can inhibit the growth of Saprolegnia and Achlya in vitro by forming a clear zone of 5.7 mm (medium). The highest percentage of fish survival rate was in the treatment (P3) concentration of 15 ppm.

Abstract

This study was to determinte of development ovarian wader pari fish (Rasbora lateristriata) as part of the process of reproduction, which is the basic for information to R. lateristriata management. This study was done in october 2014 - april 2015 at Histology and Embryology Animal Laboratory of Gadjah Mada University. The object of the research was larva R. lateristriata with average weight of 0.02 grams. They were kept during 3 months. The result data of histology were analized and observed discussed descriptively. The results of observation showed that ovarian R. lateristriata indicated asincronous development patterns. The development of ovarian in the 1st month was at the chromatin nucleolar phase, while perinucleolar phase appeared in the 2nd and 3rd month.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan ikan bileh (Rasbora sp) oleh nelayan untuk memenuhi permintaan pasar dan sebagai sumber ekonomi membuat populasi ikan di alam terancam. Alternatif mengatasi populasi ikan semakin sedikit di alam yaitu dengan cara mengurangi kegiatan penangkapan dan mengupayakan ikan bileh untuk di budidaya. Langkap pertama dalam upaya budidaya adalah melakukan domestikasi untuk mendapatkan teknologi budidaya ikan bileh.  Domestikasi merupakan proses penjinakan dan adaptasi ikan liar dari habitat alam ke lingkungan budidaya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui proses penjinakkan ikan bileh dari alam ke wadah budidaya, dan mengetahui kelangsungan hidup dan pertumbuhan ikan bileh yang dipelihara dalam wadah budidaya berbeda, serta menentukan wadah budidaya terbaik untuk pemeliharaan ikan bileh. Penelitian ini bersifat eksperimen menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) satu faktor perlakuan. Perlakuan yang diberikan yaitu wadah budidaya berbeda, terdiri atas 4 perlakuan(P) dengan 3 kali ulangan (U), yaitu: P1= akuarium, P2=fiber, P3= terpal, dan P4= bak semen. Tahapan penelitian yaitu: persiapan wadah, koleksi ikan bileh, pemeliharaan dalam wadah budidaya, pengamatan dan pengambilan data. Data yang diambil meliputi proses penjinakan, tingkat kelangsungan hidup ikan (survival rate), pertumbuhan ikan dan parameter kualitas air. Data diolah dan dianalisi dengan uji statistik F (Anova). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, persentase kelangsungan hidup ikan tertinggi terdapat pada P4 (bak semen) dengan nilai 16,7%, diikuti P1 (akuarium) dengan nilai 15,5%, P2 (fiber) dengan nilai 8,9%, dan P3 (terpal) dengan nilai 2,2%. laju pertumbuhan berat mutlak dan panjang mutlak tertinggi terdapat pada P4 (bak semen) dan P1 (akuarium).

Abstract

Income of fishers in West Aceh District usually fluctuating, indicate by the small of number of catches of fisherman. Another thing that has a negative impact on the economy fishermens households is the Covid-19 pandemic. Limited land is a problem for fishermen’s families, previously fishermen’s wives drying salted fish to increase their income. One of the tips is to apply fish cultivation technology on limited land with the Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture (IMTA) system. The purpose of this activity is to provide knowledge to a group of fishermen’s wives about fish farming based on the IMTA system. The method used is the socialization of IMTA system fish farming, IMTA system fish pond construction training, production management guidance, training on production performance analysis and marketing strategy, monitoring and evaluation. Integrated fish cultivation training activities for groups of fishermen’s wives received positive support and response from group partners. This activity is very beneficial for houswives because they get new skills to increase economic income. This program is a solution for fishermen’s families during uncertain economic conditions due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This group activity will be an inspiration and model for other fishermen’s wives to do fish farming in limited land and water sources.

Abstract

The purpose of this Community Service is to apply the research results of the proposer team's research for community empowerment in Pante Ceureumen District, West Aceh. Research results are applied to the activity program MERDEKA 74 "(Minapadi Together with Local Fish 7 Species and 4 Legowo) which is a system of planting rice by cultivating fish in one rice field simultaneously. This program aims to increase farmers' income with high rice yield productivity and increase local fish production. The activity was carried out for 6 months at the Pante Ceureumen District, West Aceh. The results observed included rice production and fish production in the Minapadi system. The production of 2: 1 legowo planted rice has a significant effect on the parameters of rice production, namely (16.17 kg /Ha). Meanwhile, the production of cultivated fish (7 species) are catfish, bileh fish, tilapia, goldfish, catfish, catfish and giant prawns. The 7 species are able to develop and be cultivated well.

Abstract

Anak-anak di daerah pesisir harus memahami dampak dari pencemaran sampah plastik ke laut. Sampah plastik merupakan jenis sampah yang paling banyak ditemukan di laut. Sampah yang bermuara di bibir pantai telah menjadi masalah komplek yang dihadapai oleh masyarakat sekitar pesisir. Penumpukan sampah ini berasal dari beberapa sungai yang bermuara ke laut. Sosialisasi dilakukan di Gampong Peunaga Rayeuk kecamatan Meurebo kabupatan Aceh Barat bertujuan untuk meminimalisir dampak dari pencemaran sampah plastik terhadap lingkungan laut. Melalui kegitan sosialisasi ini, anak-anak yang berada di kawasan pesisir Peunaga Rayeuk dapat memahami dampak dari cemaran sampah plastik itu sendiri.

Abstract

Gemarikan is a government program initiated by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP RI) which aims to motivate people to like to eat fish. In fish there are omega-3s, EFAs, and DHA which are needed for brain development. Early childhood is strongly advised to consume fish to be healthier, smarter and stronger. This activity is carried out on the basis of students still low interest in consuming fish and do not know the benefits. Gemarikan socialization was carried out at the primary school in Kuala Lumpur district of Samatiga, West Aceh district. The method is carried out by lectures and playing fish games. The material presented was: types of consumption fish, benefits and importance of fish consumption, and tips on choosing fresh fish. Students are very happy and pay attention to what is conveyed in the hope that after this activity has finished interest in increasing fish consumption.
