Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine how the concept of Saint Vincent's mortification can contribute to the education and character development of prospective catechists and prospective religious teachers. This study is expected to provide in-depth insight into how values ​​such as self-denial, love for God and others, and the spirit of uniting oneself with Jesus Christ can be applied in everyday life by prospective catechists and religious teachers. This study uses a qualitative literature study method, by examining certain concepts, thoughts, experiences, or life events based on written information taken from reference books, proceedings, research reports, magazines, newspapers, journals, and other sources relevant to the research theme. The results of the study indicate that the concept of Saint Vincent's mortification is very relevant in the context of education and character formation. This concept emphasizes the importance of self-denial as the first step to building love for God and others. Moreover, mortification also helps individuals to train themselves in controlling egoism and directing attention to the needs of others. This concept can be a strong foundation for prospective catechists and religious teachers to live a life of faith, love, and commitment in service. This research is expected to be a reference for educators and coaches in designing character building programs based on deep spiritual values.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the spirituality of the Apostle Paul and its relevance for catechists in carrying out their evangelization mission. Spirituality is a crucial aspect for evangelists of Jesus Christ, as it strengthens their ability to fulfill their missionary duties. Catechists, as heralds and servants in the life and development of the Church, are experiencing a decline in spirituality, which affects their dedication and enthusiasm in ministry. Many catechists serve merely as a duty rather than as a true calling, leading to a lack of commitment, discouragement, arrogance, and diminished enthusiasm. This research is conducted using a qualitative approach through library research by collecting and analyzing various relevant published sources, including books, journals, articles, scientific works, the Bible, and online resources. The research method involves data collection through documentation techniques, followed by data analysis through data reduction and data display, and finally drawing conclusions from the collected data. The findings indicate that the spiritual values of the Apostle Paul hold significant relevance for catechists today, providing guidance and inspiration to strengthen their commitment and spiritual resilience in preaching the Gospel.

Abstract

Religious diversity is an undeniable reality in Indonesia, a country with a multi-religious and multicultural society. This diversity is a strength, but also poses challenges, especially in the form of religious intolerance and conflict. The Catholic Church, under the leadership of Pope Francis, has been actively promoting interfaith dialogue, culminating in the Abu Dhabi Document on Human Fraternity, co-signed with Grand Imam Al-Tayyeb. This study aims to examine the relevance and application of the Abu Dhabi Document in promoting religious tolerance and dialogue in Indonesia. This study uses a qualitative approach with document analysis. Research findings show that the principles outlined in the Abu Dhabi Document provide valuable insights for strengthening peaceful religious coexistence in Indonesia. If implemented effectively, the document can serve as an educational tool for interfaith dialogue and a means to strengthen harmonious religious life.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the relevance of the virtue of Vincentian asceticism to the catechist. Catechist is a group of lay in the Catholic Church who involves themselves in all aspects of the church, example: take charge of teaching, accompaniment, and services to all the categorical groups, and liturgical. This research applies qualitative methods, the methodology based on the literature review that analyses data from books, Articles, from The Holy Bible, and documents (library Research). This method aims to find the relevant virtue of asceticism in the services of them in the Catholic Church, teaches, guides, and serves the faithful. As a catechist, there is a need for self-denial and commitment. The result shown that the virtue of Vincentian Asceticism could help Catechists overcome the challenges in services. Additionally, it is also to deepen the spirituality of the catechist through preaching, living in the sacrament of the Eucharist, active in the church, faithfulness in the teaching.

Abstract

Pancasila adalah dasar negara Indonesia. Pancasila memiliki lima prinsip yang mengakomodasi semangat kemanusiaan dan keberagaman. Tetapi apa yang terjadi, pada faktanya Indonesia belum dapat lepas dari permasalahan dan konflik SARA. Negara ini pada faktanya belum dapat menyatukan dirinya sebagai sebuah negara besar. Persatuan Indonesia yang telah direkomendasikan dalam Pancasila belum dilaksanakan, termasuk di dalamnya dalam belum tercermin dalam sistem pendidikan nasionalnya. Penelitian ini berusaha untuk menemukan pemikiran-pemikiran dari pendiri bangsa, kususnya pemikiran Soekarno tentang Pancasila untuk memperkaya dalam melengkapi sistem pendidikan agama di Indonesia.
