Abstract

The culture of each region varies both arts, home form, the procedure of marriage and other social traditions, this shows a multi-cultural society. This difference becomes own peculiarities for Mokdale village society. Mokdale village society has a distinctive tradition, that is Tu'u Belis tradition, this tradition is a tradition practiced by generations as it has its own value and meaning in social life. This study aims to determine the meaning Tu'u Mokdale Belis for the village society. The study was conducted in the village of Mokdale. Informan in this research is the general public who were four people with two criteria of the traditional leaders and the two society leaders. Data for this study were obtained from the results of observations, interviews, documentary studies and analyzed descriptively qualitative. The results showed that the meaning Tu'u Mokdale Belis for the village society is to strengthen the relations between familial and kinship as well as ease the burden in the payment of bride price. Tu'u Belis deemed to have solidarity value in establishing kinship systems such as mutual help among men’s family in terms of fund-raising to pay the magnitude bride price on the part of Women. This will take place on a reciprocal basis. Tu'u Belis traditions have also been associated with symbolic interaction theory, this is shown by the interaction between the groom's family and the local society and in the implementation, Tu'u Belistradition becoming the socialization process from of generation to generation by the individual to the society.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the Role of Organizational Communication in improving the performance of employees of the Dutalia Oesapa Supermarket in Kupang City. The theory used in this study is the theory of human relations. This research is a qualitative study with research procedures that produce descriptive data. The informants in this study were determined by the principle of adequacy and conformity. Test the validity of the data using qualitative data analysis of Milles & Huberman. The results of the study found that the role of communication applied to Dutalia Oesapa Kupang went well in improving employee performance. Dutalia Oesapa Kupang employees must know and be able to apply the Guest Service Cycle (GSC) as a standard employee service cycle so that communication between leaders and fellow employees can be well established and each employee still feels valued and cared for by the leadership and fellow employees, and there is no the gap between senior workers and general workers in order to improve good employee performance so that they know about how communication takes place through various stages that are carried out continuously, change, and there is no end in order to deliver messages. Employee Performance at Dutalia Oesapa Kupang is a real achievement achieved by a person both in quality and quantity that an employee achieves in carrying out his duties in accordance with the responsibilities given. Organizational communication in Dutalia Oesapa Kupang should apply the human relations theory that must have work performance evaluations for all employees within the organization, so that the organization can know the extent of achievement levels. This can be used as a benchmark for giving compensation in making innovations that will improve employee performance.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan strategi komunikasi antarpribadi serta faktor yang mendorong dan menghambat proses komunikasi antarpribadi pengelola UPTD PPA dalam menangani korban kekerasan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode studi kasus. Penelitian ini berfokus pada strategi komunikasi antarpribadi pengelola UPTD PPA dalam menangani kelompok perempuan dan anak sebagai korban kekerasan. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengelola UPTD PPA menerapkan strategi komunikasi antarpribadi dalam menangani korban kekerasan dengan tujuan yang ingin dicapai ialah pengungkapan diri korban yang mana strategi tersebut didukung dan dipengaruhi oleh lima elemen penting dalam komunikasi yakni komunikator, pesan, media, komunikan, dan efek pesan. Pengelola UPTD PPA sebagai komunikator menyampaikan pesan yang bersifat edukatif, informatif, dan memotivasi kepada korban kekerasan sebagai komunikan. Pesan-pesan tersebut disampaikan baik secara langsung menggunakan media atau saluran suara, mimik wajah, dan gestur tubuh serta komunikasi tidak langsung dengan media komunikasi kedua yaitu telepon genggam. Komunikasi antarpribadi yang terjalin pada akhirnya menghasilkan efek atau respon dari korban kekerasan dengan mulai membuka diri dan mengungkapkan diri, masalah serta kebutuhannya. Pengungkapan diri yang dilakukan oleh korban menunjukkan bahwa strategi komunikasi antarpribadi oleh pengelola UPTD PPA berhasil karena telah mencapai tujuan.
