Abstract

This article aims to elaborate the thoughts of KH. Hasyim Asy'ari about Islamic boarding school education as well as revealing aspects of modernity that are relevant to current educational conditions. The significance value of this research lies in the greatness of KH. Hasyim Asy'ari in changing the pesantren education system, starting from the intake of character that is moralistic in principle to the plains of institutionalization and curriculum. A major breakthrough that is impressive and remains relevant to the existence of education today. By referring to some of his literature and works, this paper combines theory of thought with policy action in the field through the existence of Pesantren Tebuireng, Jombang. The method used is a literature study (literature approach) with the type of qualitative research. The data is taken from articles, books and other documents. The data were analyzed using philological content analysis, in which the reading of KH's educational thoughts. Hasyim Asy'ari is associated with his current development. From the results of the study resulted in conclusions, 1) the source of educational thinking goals according to KH. Hasyim Asy'ari is to humanize in his position as a creation that gives birth to awareness to carry out his rights and obligations to God the creator of man, this is the embryo of the birth of character education; 2) Islamic education is not only religious knowledge in material terms, but also general knowledge. So the opening of the curriculum by accepting general material (non-religious) is needed by pesantren; 3) Islamic boarding schools must be responsive to the times, follow the flow of change without letting go of the dignity of the pesantren.

Abstract

A good educator is one who is not only concerned with fulfilling obligations to the institution but more importantly paying attention to and fostering the morals of his students. The highest dedication of an educator is not only seeing the success and high knowledge of his students but more than that, educators are considered perfect success if their students have good character and morals in the midst of society. This is one thing that cannot be denied, which is often overlooked and even forgotten by educators today, that a student is not only thirsty for IQ (Intelligence Quotients), but also needs guidance and assistance in managing EQ (Emotional Quotients) and SQ (Spirirtual Quotients). . This is where the author is interested in bringing up the process of character education in schools carried out by SMP Negeri 1 Mojoagung Jombang.

Abstract

this study describes a strategy for community empowerment through the CIBEST approach which is oriented towards target identification, mapping and program determination. This study provides a solution to the problem of inaccuracy in the mustahik empowerment program by zakat institutions. This research is a qualitative type of field applied research with a descriptive approach. Collecting data using the triangulation method, interviews with zakat institutions in the Malang City area, namely the National Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) Malang City, Lazizmu Malang City. Observations were made on the mustahik community (social community) by looking at the before and after aspects. The results of the study found several things, 1) The application of the CIBEST method was carried out in three stages. First, identifying mustahik’s through a submission and recommendation system, feasibility survey and deliberation to determine and map mustahik’s needs. Second, mapping the empowerment program. Zakat institutions map the status of mustahik's empowerment in the form of four quadrants (quadrants I-IV) in the form of material and spiritual categorization. Third, determining the program. 2) The impact of implementing the CIBEST Model is; a) before applying the CIBEST quadrant in the aspect of quadrant I (prosperity) it changed from 11 families to 42 families; b) in quadrant II (material poor) originally 36 families changed to 18 families; c) in quadrant III (spiritually poor) which was originally 7 families turned into 2 families; d) in quadrant IV (absolute poor) from 8 families to 4 families.
