Abstract

This paper shows some of the research results. The result of this research shows that the boiler efficiency at operational condition (present) is 79,32% decreased efficiency equal to 9,19% compared with operational condition with efficiency as big as 88,51%. One of the factors analyzing the declining efficiency of the boiler is greatly influencing the heat transfer process, because if there is dirt or crust on the boiler pipe and the fouling, it will result in the process of heat transfer will decrease so that the heat transfer rate will decrease, and will also affect the amount of heat losses in the boiler.

Abstract

Boiler is a tool used to produce steam / steam for various purposes. The water in the boiler is heated by heat from the fuel combustion (other heat source) resulting in heat transfer from the heat source to the water causing the water to become hot or transformed into steam. Direct Methods Also known as "input-output method" because this method requires only output / output (steam) and heat input / fuel (fuel) for efficiency evaluation. From the results of boiler efficiency study from August 8, 2017 to August 17, 2017 with a total average - unit 4 has a boiler efficiency 75.5012% higher than unit 2 which only amounted to 65.24% 84%. The high efficiency of boiler unit 2 is due to the average pressure on unit 4 of 86.9229 bar is greater than the pressure of unit 2 which is only about 82.9155 bar. Then Main steam flow on unit 4 is 66,6605 kg / s while unit 2 is only 63,61111 kg/s. For feed water flow unit 4 only able to flow 65,9 kg / s and unit 2 equal to 66,675 kg/s.

Abstract

MFC is a system of generating electricity by utilizing bacterial interactions found in nature. The bacteria found in organics convert organic matter into electrical energy. The nature of bacteria that can degrade organisms in MFC produces electron and proton ions. These ions produce differences in electrical potential so that energy can be produced. The purpose of this study was to determine the electrical potential of instant noodle stew wastewater and the effect of electrodes on the acquisition of electricity using copper and zinc electrodes and a combination of copper and zinc, and to know the effect of aerators on MFC. This research was conducted for 12 hours and data collection was done once every hour for 12 hours. The instant noodle boiled water with a combination of zinc and copper (Zn-Cu) electrodes produces more electricity than other electrode combinations. The combination of copper and zinc electrodes (Cu-Zn) produces the lowest electricity gain and cannot be used as a combination of electrodes. At Cu-Cu electrodes obtained were 313 mA and 498 mV, on Zn-Zn electrodes obtained were 106 mA and 100 mV, on Zn-Cu electrodes obtained were 1393 mA and 941 mV.

Abstract

Kebutuhan energi dari tahun ke tahun terus meningkat. Sebagian besar kebutuhan energi  penduduk pedesaaan adalah untuk sektor rumah tangga. Tanah gambut yang mempunyai nilai kalori yang dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu energi alternatif untuk memenuhi kebutuhan energi di Desa kayu bawang Kecamatan Gambut. Melihat kondisi ini maka potensi sumber daya alam terutama tanah gambut harus benar-benar dimanfaatkan dengan  baik,  karena dengan potensi alam tersebut akan menunjang berjalannya perekonomian dengan baik. Salah satu teknologi tepat guna yang mampu memanfaatkan tanah gambut sebagai bahan bakar yaitu dengan cara menjadikan tanah gambut sebagai briket dan  membuat kompor yang bisa digunakan sebagai bahan bakar briket tanah gambut. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah memberikan solusi kepada  warga Desa Kayu Bawang dalam menangulangi energi. Salah satu teknologi tepat guna yang mampu memanfaatkan tanah gambut sebagai bahan bakar yaitu dengan cara menjadikan tanah gambut sebagai briket dan  membuat kompor yang bisa digunakan sebagai bahan bakar briket tanah gambut Metode yang gunakan adalah studi lapangan, diskusi, pembuatan briket tanah gambut dan kompor briket yang di demontrasikan degan mitra sesuai dengan target dan harapan. Target yang dicapai dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah produk cetakan briket tanah gambut dan Kompor  briket tanah gambut. Dari kegiatan ini dihasilkan produk kompor briket tanah gambut dan cetakan briket tanah gambut yang bisa digunanakan sebagai energi alternatife secara maksimal oleh warga Desa Kayu Bawang ini. Warga sangat antusias terhadap kegiatan ini, hal ini disebabkan dengan pengguaan kompor briket tanah gambut ini dapat mengurangi biaya hidup khususnya dalam pengeluaran bahan bakar.

Abstract

Kegiatan Program Dosen Wajib Mengabdi (PDWA) melalui  Kemitraan Masyarakat umum atau masyarakat non produktif. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk membantu mitra dalam upaya memberikan solusi energi alternatif dan pemanfaatan limbah penggilingan padi di desa Kayu Bawang.. Sebagian besar kebutuhan energi  penduduk pedesaaan adalah untuk sektor rumah tangga dan usaha kecil. Berdasarkan data BPS Kabupaten Banjar tahun 2022, rata-rata produksi padi sawah di Gambut sebesar 39,41 ton/ha dengan luas lahan sawah sekitar 7,673 Ha. Secara otomatis, usaha penggilingan padi marak berada di Gambut, produk dari penggilingan padi akan menghasilkan 20 persen beratnya berupa kulit padi atau sekam. penggilngian padi ini biasanya hanya dibakar menjadi abu gosok atau digunakan menjadi campuran kompos. Pemanfaatan biomassa dengan pembakaran secara langsung tidaklah efektif karena densitas energi yang rendah sehingga biomassa perlu dikonversi dengan cara pemadatan, yang biasanya disebut briket. Selain dapat meningkatkan densitas energi dan kapasitas kalor, briket juga dapat memudahkan dalam penyimpanan dan pengangkutan. Namun briket memiliki kelemahan yaitu agak sulit terbakar saat pertama digunakanMetode yang gunakan adalah studi lapangan, diskusi, pembuatan cetakan briket. Target luaran yang dicapai dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah produk cetakan briket sekam padi. Dari kegiatan ini dihasilkan produk briket sekam padi yang bisa digunakan sebagai energi alternatif  oleh warga di Desa Kayu Bawang ini. Meskipun nilai kalor briket sekam ini tidak terlalu besar namun pemanfaatan sekam sebagai limbah menjadi bahan bakar alternatif memberikan nilai yang positif.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the heat distribution system in three types of fish dryers. The variations of the dryer room were fire-tube type, fire-tube type with bevel, and air-tube type. This study was conducted by simulating airflow and heat transfer that occurred in each dryer room variation by using CFD software. In the simulation, the dryer was heated using an electric heating element with a temperature of 80 °C and the results display hot air flow moving in the drying chamber. In the fire-tube type dryer room obtained average temperature of 46.74OC. In the fire-tube type dryer room with the bevel obtained an average temperature of 44.40OC. While the type of air-tube shows average temperature results of 34.31OC. From the simulation, we known that the fire-tube type has the best heat distribution system.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the performance of steam turbine PT. Indocement Tarjun Plant 12 by comparing the results of data obtained during each performance test in 1999, 2016, 2017, and 2018. This research data is taken from the control room of PT. Indocement Tarjun, variable data obtained in the form of load, main inlet steam temperature, main inlet steam pressure, HP heater feed outlet temperature, HP heater feed outlet pressure, main steam flow, and turbine by pass flow. The data is processed to get the turbine heat rate and the efficiency per time of each performance test and then averaging the data results over time, then comparing the turbine heat rate and the average efficiency of each performance test. The calculation of turbine heat rate using heat & mass balance method, turbine efficiency is obtained by comparing the energy of 1 kW with turbine heat rate and multiplying 100%. The result of the average heat turbine calculation per performance test ie August 1999 is 2.546, April 2016 2,537, June 2017 2.56, and May 2018 2.67. The average value of turbine efficiency in August 1999 was 39.30%, April 2016 39.43%, June 2017 39.07%, May 2018 37.46%. Turbine power plant performance of PT Indocement Tarjun Plant 12 decreased from 1999 to 2018 by 1.84%.
