Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe how short-term memory is in learning mathematics. This research method is a literature study. Literature study examines theories based on books, articles, notes, and reports related to the problems studied. The sources of data needed by researchers in this literature review are using primary sources and secondary sources. Data analysis aims to obtain answers from the formulation of the problem that has been determined, data analysis is carried out in an inductive and interpretive way. The result of this research is that the source of working memory during learning is explained in single-digit arithmetic learning, multi-digit arithmetic learning. Meanwhile, working memory in children with math difficulties is found in verbal working memory and visual-spatial working memory.

Abstract

Abstrak. Matematika merupakan pelajaran yang seringkali dikatakan abstrak sehingga membutuhkan penalaran yang baik pula untuk mampu menyelesaikan masalah-masalah tersebut. Kemampuan berpikir kreatif memiliki peranan penting dalam kehidupan karena dengan kemampuan berpikir kreatif dapat membawa kemajuan dan pengembangan bagi ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi sesuai dengan tuntutan perkembangan zaman dan ilmu yang sedang dihadapi dunia pendidikan saat ini yaitu harus memiliki berbagai kecakapan atau keterampilan yang nantinya setelah lulus dari sekolah dapat membawa mereka terjun ke dunia kerja dan dapat meraih keberhasilan. Untuk dapat mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis, perlu dilakukan aktivitas-aktivitas pemecahan masalah seperti analogi. Penalaran analogi penting untuk dimiliki dalam bidang matematika karena merupakan kunci daripada kreativitas. Jika penalaran analogi diterapkan dalam pembelajaran matematika maka dapat meningkatkan kreativitas siswa, mengembangkan kemampuan penalaran, meningkatkan motivasi, meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah, mengingat konsep-konsep matematika untuk jangka panjang, mengaitkan konsep-konsep matematika yang abstrak dengan kehidupan nyata siswa, dan dapat memberikan contoh lain melalui contoh analogi matematika. Abstract. Mathematics is a subject that is often said to be abstract so it requires good reasoning to be able to solve these problems. The ability to think creatively has an important role in life because the ability to think creatively can bring progress and development of science and technology in accordance with the demands of the times and science that is being faced by the world of education today, namely having various skills or skills that later after graduating from school can bring them into the world of work and can achieve success. Analogous reasoning is a very important reasoning in the field of mathematics and is the key to creativity. If analogical reasoning is applied in learning mathematics, it can increase students' creativity, develop students' reasoning and motivation skills, improve problem solving skills, remember mathematical concepts for the long term, relate abstract mathematical concepts to students' real lives, and can provide examples others through analogy examples in mathematics.

Abstract

Abstrak. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu mendeskripsikan kesalahan mahasiswa dalam menyelesaikan soal teori graf berdasarkan Prosedur Newman. Kesalahan peserta didik dapat diketahui dari penelitian ini berdasarkan prosedur Newman, sehingga ke depan bisa diberikan treatment yang tepat dari tipe kesalahan tersebut dan harapannya tidak diulangi kembali oleh peserta didik. Penelitian ini termasuk jenis penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes dan dilengkapi pedoman wawancara. Prosedur Newman digunakan untuk menganalisis hasil tes, dilanjutkan wawancara terhadap beberapa peserta didik dari hasil tes. Kesimpulannya banyak peserta didik yang melakukan kesalahan tipe encoding yaitu kesalahan yang dilakukan ketika proses transformasi maupun kesalahan proses. Abstract. The purpose of this study was to describe student errors in solving graph theory problems based on the Newman procedure. Students' errors can be identified from this study based on the Newman procedure so that in the future the appropriate treatment can be given for this type of error and hopefully it will not be repeated by students. This research was a descriptive qualitative research type. The instrument used is a test and is equipped with an interview guide. The Newman procedure was used to analyze the test results, followed by interviews with several students from the test results. In conclusion, many students made encoding errors, namely errors made during the transformation process and process errors.

Abstract

Abstrak. Salah satu kemampuan yang harus dimiliki siswa dan penting dalam pembelajaran matematika yaitu kemampuan koneksi matematis. Dalam pembelajaran matematika antartopik memiliki keterkaitan, sehingga siswa perlu untuk bisa mengkaitkan atau mengkaitkan suatu topik dengan topik yang lain. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui strategi REACT dapat meningkatkan kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa. Metode penelitian yang dipilih dalam penelitian ini adalah metode SLR (Systematic Literature Review). Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan mendokumentasi dan mereview semua artikel mengenai strategi REACT yang diterbitkan dalam kurun waktu 2015-2022. Artikel terpilih menyajikan teori yang didasarkan pada deskripsi yang saling bergantung dan mendukung strategi REACT. Abstract. One of the abilities that students must have and important in learning mathematics is the ability to connect mathematically. In learning mathematics, there are interrelated topics, so students need to be able to link between one topic with other topics. The purpose of this study was to determine the REACT strategy could improve students mathematical connection skills. The research method chosen this study is SLR (Systematic Literature Review) method. Data collection was carried out by documenting and reviewing all articles of the REACT strategy published in the 2015-2022 period. Selected articles present theories that are based on descriptions of interdependence and support of the REACT strategy.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze how analogical reasoning as one of the reasoning in mathematics can build the numeracy literacy of prospective mathematics teachers. Qualitative methodology was used in this recent study. Data collection techniques in this study are test, observation, interview, and documentation. Meanwhile, data analysis was processed by reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. Analogous reasoning is one way that can be used in learning to build numeracy literacy because, with analogical reasoning, students will try to find problems that are similar to the questions given and then learn them by reading and understanding the information it provides. However, analogous reasoning in research can only be done by students with high abilities, while students with low abilities have not been able to use this reasoning. Nowadays, reasoning is very mandatory to use in literacy-based learning because literacy requires reasoning, without reasoning, it will be difficult for students and prospective teachers to be able to solve numeracy literacy questions.

Abstract

This study aimed to reveal influence of the research-based learning model on independent learning and creative thinking skills of students on graph theory. This research was conducted at the students of Mathematics Education Program IKIP PGRI Bojonegoro for 8 weeks. The data used to measure influence student learning independence was gathered through a questionnaire; and the students’ creative thinking skills and learning outcomes of Research Based Learning Model were measured through a test. It used quantitative method using multiple regression test. Data were analyzed using SPSS 22.00 for windows. The results of the study showed: (1) there was influence between learning independence on learning outcomes Reseach Based Learning model (2) there was influence between creative thinking skill on learning outcomes Reseach Based Learning model, and (3) there was influence between learning independent and creative thinking skill on learning outcomes Reseach Based Learning model which is 72.6%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine: (1) how to develop valid problem-based learning-oriented learning devices, (2) how to develop practical problem-based learning-oriented learning devices, (3) how to develop effective problem-based learning-oriented learning devices, and (4) whether applying problem-based learning-oriented learning devicescan improve students' mathematical literacy skills. This research is a development research using the Thiagarajan development model, namely the modified 4D (Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate) model. The learning devicesdeveloped were lesson plans, student activity sheets, student books, and students' mathematical literacy test instruments. The research instruments were: (a) validation sheets for learning devicesincluding: lesson plans, student activity sheets, student books and tests of mathematical literacy skills; (b) the observation sheet to see the teacher's ability to manage student learning and activities; (c) a research questionnaire to see student responses to learning. The results of data analysis indicate that the learning devicesdeveloped are oriented toward problem-based learning that meet the criteria of validity, practicality and effectiveness. There was an increase in students' mathematical literacy skills using the developed learning devices.

Abstract

The 21st-century citizens should have creative thinking skills with literature problems. This thinking has three components: novelty, flexibility, and fluency. This research aims to determine how the students’ creative thinking skills through questions with numeric literacy concepts. This research is descriptive qualitative research with the triangulated data. The subjects were the students of the University of Indraprastha PGRI, Southern Jakarta. After taking the test, the researchers categorized the creative thinking skills into creative, average, and not creative categories. The results showed a new component supported the students’ creative thinking skills about the numeric literacy concept. It was the communication. Previous studies showed four components to measure individuals’ creative thinking skills on the numeric literacy concepts. They were communication, novelty, flexibility, and fluency. This research concluded that the student's creative thinking skills on the numerical literacy concept questions would be more observable if the communication component existed.
