Abstract

The aim of the research was to know effect of palm sugar and curcumma as feed addtive on slaughtering weight, carcass, giblet, and abdominal fat weight of broiler. Total of 90 tail of broiler (COBB strain) with DOC weight rate was 37 g used as experimentas materials rearing in 38 days. This research used analysis of varianve method of complete random design with 3 treatments and 5 replication was observed, there was P0 = without feed additive, P1 = using feed additive (palm sugar 2 % and 10 g of curcumma), dan P2 = using feed additive (palm sugar 2 % and 20 g of curcumma). The results showed that there was no significance effect of palm sugar and curcumma as feed addtive on slaughtering weight, carcass, giblet, and abdominal fat weight of broiler.

Abstract

This research aim was to determine the morphometric characteristics of native chickens in the Huamual District. A total of 300 adult Kampung chickens (consisting of 150 males and 150 females) with more than 20 weeks of age were used as research samples. Analysis of qualitative traits by calculating proportions or percentages, where chickens were grouped by sex. Quantitative traits were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis by calculating the mean, standard deviation, and coefficient of variance. In order to determine the relationship between body measurements (chest circumference, femur length, tibia length, shank length, shank circumference) and body weight of native chickens, a simple regression analysis method was used. The results showed that the qualitative traits of Kampung chickens were dominated by the color of the black plumage of the hen and the wild color of the male, white or yellow on the shank, and the form of a single comb. The average body weight of Kampong chicken was 1602.17 g, chest circumference 28.17 cm, femur length 14.96 cm, tibia length 10.71 cm, shank length 9.11 cm with a diameter of 5.01 cm in males, while females have an average body weight of 1083.75 g, chest circumference 23.37 cm, femur length 12.53 cm, tibia length 8.72 cm, shank length 8.23 with a diameter of 3.68 cm. Shank length can be used as the best and most appropriate measure to estimate the body weight of chickens, both male and female.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk Mengetahui pengaruh ekstrak daun miana sebagai bahan sanitasi terhadap, mortalitas dan daya tetas telur ayam buras dan mencari alternatif lain pengganti desinfektan berbahan kimia yang dapat digunakan sebagai antimikroba alami dalam proses pembersihan telur tetas. Penelitian ini menggunakan 80 butir telur yang telah diseleksi dan berasal dari usaha peternakan milik Bapak Abu Hiri di Desa Wayame Dusun Waringin Cap. Penelitian ini dianalisis menggunakan Uji T (Independent Sample t-Test) untuk membandingkan hasil sanitasi ekstrak daun dan fumigasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan yang nyata antara sanitasi menggunakan ekstrak daun miana terhadap, mortalitas dan daya tetas telur ayam buras yang artinya ekstrak daun miana dapat digunakan sebagai bahan pengganti sanitasi berbahan kimia. Abstract This study aims to determine the effect of miana leaf extract as a sanitizing agent on the mortality and hatchability of native chicken eggs and to find other alternatives to chemical disinfectants that can be used as natural antimicrobials in the cleaning process of hatching eggs. This study used 80 eggs that had been selected and came from a farm owned by Mr. Abu Hiri in Wayame Village, Dusun Waringin Cap. This study was analyzed using the t-test (Independent Sample t-Test) to compare the results of leaf extract sanitation and fumigation. The results showed that there was no significant difference between sanitation using miana leaf extract against, mortality and hatchability of native chicken eggs, which means that miana leaf extract can be used as a chemical substitute for sanitation.

Abstract

Limbah ikan merupakan buangan/sisa hasil usaha dan/atau kegiatan, jika limbah tersebut tidak ditangani dengan baik maka dapat mencemari lingkungan hidup. Limbah ikan seperti insang dan jeroan merupakan sumber protein yang memiliki potensi untuk dimanfaatkan sebagai produk bahan pakan tambahan bagi broiler. Penelitiian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui performa broiler yang diberi kombinasi limbah ikan yang berbeda sebagai bahan pakan pada pemeliharaan selama 28 hari. Materi penelitian yaitu DOC broiler jumbo 747 sebanyak 90 ekor, pakan komersil, dan limbah ikan (jeroan dan insang). Metode penelitian yaitu Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) terdiri dari 3 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Setiap ulangan berisi 10 ekor broiler. Ketiga perlakuan terdiri dari pakan komersil tanpa limbah ikan (L0), pakan komersil 93% dengan limbah ikan 7% (L1), dan pakan komersil 86% dengan limbah ikan 14% (L2). Variabel yang diamati adalah konsumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot badan, konversi pakan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rataan konsumsi pakan berada pada kisaran L0 = 2.010±1,0 gr/ekor hingga L1 = 2.052±66,6 gr/ekor, rataan pertambahan bobot badan pada kisaran L0=1.515±52,4 gr/ekor hingga L2=1.578±62,0 gr/ekor, rataan konversi pakan berada pada kisaran L2=1.34±0.046 hingga L1=1.36±0.051. Analisis ragam menunjukkan kombinasi limbah ikan dengan pakan komersil memberikan pengaruh yang tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap konsumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot badan, dan konversi pakan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan limbah ikan (jeroan dan insang) hingga level 14% tidak mempengaruhi performa broiler.

Abstract

Broilers, are superior breeds from crosses from type of chicken that have high productivity, especiallyin producing meat. The rapid growth rate in broilers is always influenced by the intake of a lot of feedconsumption. This is a problem for farmers who want broilers to consume low feed but the carcassweight increases, because almost 70% of production costs are determined by the cost of feed. Thepurpose of this study was to analyze the influence of addition rice bran in broiler feed on its performance.This study used a Completely Randomized Design with 4 treatments namely P0 (commercial feedwithout the addition of rice bran); P1 (commercial feed + 10% rice bran); P2 (commercial feed + ricebran 20%) and P3 (commercial feed + rice bran 30%), each treatment have 5 replications. The variablesobserved were feed consumption, body weight gain, feed conversion, carcass weight and carcasspercentage. The results showed that the addition of rice bran in each treatment (P1, P2 and P3) was notsignificantly different (P> 0.05) with treatment without the addition of rice bran (P0). The results of thisstudy concluded that the ration of broiler chicken feed can be supplemented with rice bran up to 30%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine performance broiler strain Lohman and strain Cibadak kept in postal cages with the system semi clouse house. Materials of this research namely broiler strain Lohman and Cibadak are kept in postal cages with the system semi clouse house, population of 11,000 head/cage as well as commercial feed types HI-PRO BR10 and HI-PRO BR11+. This panel was conducted for 28 days on Mr. Haji Agus Rifai's farm with a postal cage type in Kentrong Village, Cipanas District, Lebak Regency, Banten. The method used in this research is survey and observation (direct observation in the field) to collect data related to performance broiler. The variables observed in this study were feed consumption, body weight gain, feed convertion rasio (FCR) and depletion. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively. The research results show that performance broiler strain Lohman is better than strain Cibadak, With performance broiler strain Lohman namely feed consumption of 515 gr/head, PBB of 324 gr/head, FCR 1.383 and depletion rate of 4.03%, and performance broiler strain Cibadak namely feed consumption of 616 gr/head, PBB of 369 gr/head, FCR 1.488 and depletion rate of 8.46%.

Abstract

Desa Rutong merupakan salah satu desa yang menyumbang potensi produksi durian di kota Ambon, Maluku. Selama ini pemanfaatan buah durian oleh petani masih terbatas, yaitu dijual atau dikonsumsi sebagai buah segar. Untuk pengolahan lanjutan biasanya hanya dibuat dodol dari daging buah durian, sedangkan biji durian sebagian besar merupakan limbah dan hanya sedikit yang dijadikan benih.Kegiatan ini dilakukan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan ketrampilan masyarakat mengolah es krim durian dan emping biji durian. Kegiatan dilakasanakan dengan metode penyuluhan dan pelatihan bagi Ibu-Ibu PKK Desa Rutong. Kegiatan penyuluhuan dan pelatihan es krim durian dan emping biji durian berjalan baik dan lancar. Manfaat sangat besar bagi peserta yang merupakan Ibu-Ibu PKK Desa Rutong dengan meningkatnya pengetahuan tentang durian, nilai gizi dan manfaatnya serta cara mengolah es krim durian dan emping biji durian. Selain itu peserta mampu dan terampil membuat es krim durian dan emping biji durian dengan kualitas yang baik.

Abstract

Ursana Village is one of the preparatory hamlets for division into a village in Inamosol District. The most commonly kept livestock are cattle and native chickens. Constraints from the development of this farm, namely the lack of readiness, knowledge and skills of breeders. The potential development of free-range chicken has not been maximized. This is due to the lack of knowledge and motivation of the community in handling chicken diseases. Chicken disease is one of the risks that needs to be watched out for and faced with its own challenges in farming activities. Probiotics can increase livestock production when given regularly. The purpose of PKM is the application of probiotics to native chickens in disease prevention. This activity includes a social approach with the village government to take inventory of free-range chicken breeders for counseling, distribution of brochures to breeders or counseling participants, and demonstrations of making probiotics. Community service activities carried out in the Ursana Preparation Village increased the knowledge and skills of farmers regarding disease recognition and the manufacture of simple probiotics
