Abstract

THE SOCIALIZATION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THE LESSON STUDY FOR LEARNING COMMUNITY PROGRAM AT MATHLA'UL ANWAR COLLEGE IN BANTEN. Lesson Study is a model of fostering the teaching profession through mastering collaborative and sustainable learning based on the principles of collegiality and mutual learning to improve the quality of learning and build learning communities. Dissemination of Lesson Study in Mathla'ul Anwar Banten is considered to be very potential to be able to encourage many parties to do their best to improve the quality of learning and be able to increase achievement motivation in students. One of the goals expected by Lesson Study is to develop a pattern of educating teacher competencies with the LSLC model. The benefits of this Dissemination activity will be the establishment of a training system that is needs-based and sustainable in order to improve the quality of learning. The results of LSLC dissemination have become a model for educating teachers to improve teacher competence and improve the quality of learning in the classroom.

Abstract

DEMANDS: COUNSELORS TO BE CREATIVE. Along with the development era of counselor, work demands become increasingly complex. Challenges will be constantly confronted by counselors as a result of the changes taking place. Changes in the work environment of counselors force them to be creative. Counselors should be able to find solutions, find new ways and adapt to changes that occur. So, on the process of education of potential counselors in Indonesia should also encourage the creativity of counselors in the realm of their scope of work. Such efforts need to be integrated with the counselor education curriculum. One of them is developing the SCAMPER Model to help candidate of counselors and professional counselors in Indonesia encourage their creativity.

Abstract

EXISTENTIALISM APPROACH IN GUIDANCE AND COUNSELING PRACTICE. Existentialism could not be detached from Soren Kierkegaard’s idea, Nietzche’s, Karl Jaspers’s, then was developed by Martin Heidegger and Jean Paul Sarte who made existentialism become more outstanding. In psychology and Counseling, Existentialism approach get many influences from Kierkegaard opinion that opposes every efforts that view human being as an object, simultaneously opposes the subjective perception as only one human reality. Kierkegaard and many further existentialists, emphasize balancing between free-will and responsibility. Guidance and Counseling with existentialism approach appreciate democratic principle, emphasize dialog process, because freedom is one of choices. Based on this principle, every counselor has responsibility about value system which adopted by their counselee as long as it is not against with moral principle. Every counselor are demanded to behave ethically and rationally, and build value deeply and push their counselee to be responsible with their choice.

Abstract

EMPATHY PROFILE OF UNIVERSITAS MATHLA’UL ANWAR BANTEN STUDENTS. This study aims to reveal the empathy of Universitas Mathla’ul Anwar Banten students. The method used in this research is descriptive with the type of survey. The population of this study was students of Mathla'ul Anwar Banten University. The validity test of the research instrument items was carried out with the Product Moment correlation formula. The results of the validity test of 20 items resulted in 17 valid items and 3 drop items. Invalid statement items are changed and the editor corrects them to become new statements. The reliability test with the Cronbach Alpha formula obtained research results 0.803, which means that the instrument has a very high level of reliability. The results showed that the level of student empathy was high (64.18%), moderate (35.82%), and low (0%). The results of this study indicate that Mathla'ul Anwar University students have a high level of empathy. This is indicated by the more dominant results obtained in the medium category (64.18%). Research recommendations are shown to guidance and counseling students to improve empathy. Most of the students' empathy is still at a high level. However, there are still students who have moderate empathy so that this research can be used as the basis for developing the empathy ability of each student.
