Abstract

Data presentation is a crucial part of scientific writing because it plays a role in conveying information clearly, systematically, and easily understood. Diagrams, tables, and graphs are the most commonly used forms of data presentation, yet inaccuracies in their selection are still common. This article aims to examine the concepts, functions, and advantages and limitations of using diagrams, tables, and graphs in data presentation. The method used is a literature study with a descriptive qualitative approach through a review of national and international scientific journals, research methodology books, and other relevant scientific sources. The results of the study indicate that tables are more effective for presenting data in a detailed and structured manner, while diagrams and graphs emphasize visual aspects, making it easier for readers to quickly understand patterns, comparisons, and trends in the data. The selection of the appropriate form of data presentation must be tailored to the type of data, the purpose of the presentation, and the characteristics of the reader to avoid misinterpretation of the information. Therefore, a good understanding of the use of diagrams, tables, and graphs is crucial for improving the quality of data presentation in research and scientific papers, particularly in the field of education.

Abstract

Thematic learning is an integrated learning approach that combines various subjects into a single theme in order to make learning more meaningful. However, in its implementation, problems are still encountered that can hinder the effectiveness of learning. The purpose of this research article is to identify the problems that arise in the implementation of thematic learning in elementary schools. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using a case study method. The data in this study were collected through interviews with classroom teachers and documentation. The results indicate that classroom teachers experience difficulties in the planning of thematic learning, the implementation of thematic learning, and the assessment of thematic learning. Possible solutions include improving teachers’ competencies through continuous training, utilizing interactive media, and collaborating with fellow teachers in lesson planning

Abstract

This study aims to examine the concepts and roles of item discrimination index, item difficulty index, and distractor effectiveness as indicators of item quality in educational assessment through a literature review approach. The research was conducted by collecting and analyzing various relevant sources, including books, scientific journals, research articles, and academic documents discussing item analysis. The obtained data were analyzed descriptively to provide a comprehensive understanding of the functions and characteristics of these three aspects. The findings indicate that the discrimination index reflects an item's ability to distinguish between high- and low-achieving students, the difficulty index measures the level of item difficulty, and distractor effectiveness evaluates the functionality of incorrect answer choices in multiple-choice tests. These three components complement one another in determining the quality of assessment instruments, enabling more valid, reliable, and objective measurement of student learning outcomes. Therefore, understanding and applying the analysis of item discrimination, item difficulty, and distractor effectiveness are essential in developing high-quality assessment instruments that support the improvement of teaching and learning processes as well as student achievement.
