Abstract

Periklanan merupakan suatu proses komunikasi memegang peranan yang cukup penting dalam perindustrian barang dan jasa, juga berperan dalam membentuk pola serta pendapat umum. Variable bebas dalam penelitian ini adalah intensitas  terpaan iklan kosmetika lipstick yaitu jumlah kekerapan,  berapa kali responden mendapat terpaan iklan kosmetika lipstick di media massa. Variabel tak bebasnya adalah motivasi mahasiswa dalam membeli produk kosmetika lipstick yang meliputi kebutuhan konsumen untuk menggunakan kosmetika lipstick, kesenangan dalam menggunakan lipstick, penciptaan peningkatan perasaan yang bersifat emosional ( lebih percaya diri). Populasi penelitian mahasiswa FISIP-UPN ”Veteran” Jawa Timur sebanyak 374 mahasiswi. Teknik penarikan sample menggunakan “Simple Random Sampling “, yang ditentukan ukuran sampel minimal kurang lebih 10 % sehigga diperoleh sampel sebanyak 73 responden. Pengumpulan data diperoleh melalui penyebaran dan pengisian angket dari responden sebagai sample. Tenik analisis data menggunakan analisis Chi-kuadrat, yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada atau tidaknya hubungan antara intensitas dan kebutuhan, kesenangan serta kepercayaan diri dalam menggunakan lipstick. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terbukti  adanya hubungan yang cukup berarti antara  terpaan iklan kosmetika lipstick dengan motivasi membeli produk kosmetika lipstick yang didorong oleh kebutuhan konsumen untuk menggunakan kosmetika lipstick, kesenangan dalam menggunakan lipstick dan penciptaan peningkatan perasaan yang bersifat emosional (lebih percaya diri) Kata kunci : kosmetik lipstick, motivasi

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the social capital and communication system of Ettawa goat breeders (Peranakan Ettawa/PE) Kaligesing race in Purworejo. The study used the theory of social capital and communication systems in the perspective of Niklas Luhmann. The method of this study employed ethnography. Social capital of breeders is developed within farmers’ groups (Poktan). The existing social capitals in Poktan include trust, network, and norms. Social capital of trust is seen in the management of membership dues/contribution, poktan board transparency, division of work, and goat farming with nggaduh system. Network appears in the cooperation between Poktan with other Poktan, instructors/educator, traders/markets, universities, villages and districts. Norms are seen in the agreement on the division of dues, waragan group, and the breeders who use goats as debt guarantee and youth Poktan rules that prohibit breeders to sell the goats before lambing.

Abstract

Government communication system encounter extension and selling complexity. The aim of the study is to know how interrelation of government communication sub system in encounter extension and selling complexity in Kaligesing goat farming in Purworejo regency. The theory of the study is communication system in perspective of Niklas Luhmann. The study was used explorative case study method. The result of the study showed that extension sub system and breeding sub system not optimal in interrelation. So, information which produced and reproduced not solved complexity effectively.

Abstract

Sistem komunikasi pemerintah telah menghasilkan informasi tentang peraturan Pusat Pembibitan untuk mendukung pembibitan kambing Kaligesing di Purworejo. Di sisi lain, petani menilai pemerintah tidak memberikan dukungan dan bantuan maksimal untuk pemeliharaan kambing Kaligesing. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis bagaimana interpenetrasi sistem komunikasi pemerintah dalam manajemen SM untuk peternakan kambing Kaligesing di Kabupaten Purworejo. Teori penelitian ini adalah sistem komunikasi dalam perspektif Niklas Luhmann. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi kasus eksploratif. Populasi penelitian ini adalah di Kabupaten Purworejo sebagai pusat budidaya kambing Kaligesing. Sampel penelitian di Kabupaten Kaligesing, Gebang, Bener, dan Bruno. Teknik pengumpulan data penelitian ini adalah wawancara dan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa interpenetrasi antara sistem komunikasi dan sistem politik di VBC belum mendukung pembuatan informasi yang lebih efektif. Peraturan VBC didasarkan pada hubungan antara pejabat kelompok tani dengan aktor sistem politik. Interpenetrasi antar sistem belum mendorong evolusi sistem lebih adaptif.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan meneliti makna pesan pada 22 iklan Pond’s yang disiarkan melalui media televisi. Teori komunikasi yang digunakan adalah Teori Tanda dari Roland Barthes. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah semiotika dan paradigma penelitian kritis (critical paradigm). Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa pesan dalam iklan mengandung pesan denotatif, konotatif, dan mitos, terutama apabila pesan itu diulang secara terus-menerus. Warna putih adalah mitos. Penanda putih bisa diamati dalam setiap iklan Pond’s baik berupa kulit wajah, kulit tubuh bintang iklan, tulisan, narasi, latar, maupun lirik lagu yang mengiringinya. Dalam mitos putih, terdapat normalitas perempuan. Putih Pond’s telah menormalisasi perempuan untuk memiliki wajah dan kulit putih. Kulit putih adalah kulit ideal bagi perempuan, maka apapun warna kulit perempuan saat ini, idealnya kulit mereka harus menjadi putih. Selain kulit putih ideal, juga ada kulit putih fresh look, kulit putih kilau mutiara, kulit putih yang bersinar, dan kulit putih sampai ke ujung kaki. Subjek kuasa dalam normalitas ini bersifat anonim. Iklan Pond’s menunjukkan bahwa kuasa itu berasal dari laki-laki, anak laki-laki, perempuan itu sendiri, temanteman perempuan, ibu mertua, keluarga calon mertua, dan dari Pond’s.

Abstract

ABSTRACTEttawa Crossbred (EC) goat farming in Purworejo regency dated back to the era of Dutch colonial government. The Ministry of Farming was decided that EC as Purworejo’s local crossbred. But the farmers judge that EC not to be Purworejo’s icon. The farmers was judged that government not seriousmade EC as Purworejo’s icon. The aim of this research was to know how the government communicationsystem produce and reproduce information to solve EC as Purworejo’s icon. The theory used in thisresearch is communication system in the perspective of Niklas Luhmann. The research method used wasexplorative case study. Population of this study was conducted in Purworejo regency as the center ofEC goat farming. The result of the study shows that government communication system was producedinformation in encountering the environmental complexity of EC as Purworejo’s icon. The informationabout statue of EC as signifier. Government communication system wasn’t produced the icons like ECproducts and gifts. The farmers was judged that government not serious to solved EC as Purworejo’icon. The farmers through farmers group was produced icons like EC’s signifier and EC’s products (milkpowder, caramel, yoghurt, and crackers).Keywords: government communication system, complexity, icon.

Abstract

Penelitian ini meneliti tentang pola komunikasi kelompok petani tembakau di 3 (tiga) wilayah sentra penghasil tembakau di Madura, yaitu Sampang, Pamekasan dan Sumenep. Selain itu juga meneliti tentang bagaimana kebijakan pemberdayaan ekonomi politik petani tembakau di Madura. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori komunikasi kelompok, ekonomi politik dan kebijakan publik. Paradigma penelitian yang digunakan interpretif, jenis penelitian kualitatif, metode penelitian deskriptif dan instrumen penelitian observasi terlibat, wawancara dan FGD. Pola komunikasi kelompok petani tembakau terbentuk melalui tiga isu yaitu, pengadaan bibit, pupuk dan pemasaran. Opinion leader dalam komunikasi kelompok adalah klebun, pengurus pembibitan, pedagang pupuk dan juragan/bandhol.

Abstract

The existence of Local Government Radio (namely Radio Khusus Pemerintah Daerah, abbreviated as RKPD) in East Java Province, Indonesia faced many problems in post implementing of Broadcasting Act No. 32/2002. This study used constructivism paradigm. The method used in this research is descriptive research with qualitative analysis. This research conducted observation, indepth interview, limited discussion to collect data; complemented with secondary data. The research uses purposive sampling technique. The data analyzed along with data interpretation and narrative report writing. By the research, it is found that RKPD faced complex problems regarding transition of both institutions and broadcasting content programs. Until recent time, RKPD did not have a standard design to be a public radio, both in the institutional aspect and broadcasting content program. In fact, there were various types of institution and legal entities as result of interpreting the act. The Broadcasting content program was also still dominated by the government interest. The program also discussed public issues minimally and gave limited access for the public to participate and engage. Institutional design and broadcasting program should be designed according to act No. 32/2002 as public radio that reflected the interests of public and supporting of public service

Abstract

Purworejo farmers have been farming Etawa goats for long years, ever since the Dutch colonialisation in the beginning of 1900s until now. As Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) progresses (new media), these farmers have taken initiatives to use of ICTs for marketing and promoting their Etawa goats. The purpose of this study is first, to discover the complexity of new media in farming Etawa goats in Purworejo, Central Java and secondly, it aims to explain the process of production and reproduction of the government’s communication system in dealing with the complexity of new media. The research method uses explorative case study method. The research site of this study is Purworejo Regency with study sample comprising 11 out of the 16 districts, with purposive sampling as the sampling method. The demands and challenges become the complexity of the environment for the government’s communication system. The system should reduce their complexity in order to obtain information of the environment which will become the input for itself. This information is the one that will be used for the process of producing and reproducing. However, the government’s communication system has been slow in reducing the complexity of new media. The system doesn’t become adaptive with this complexity of the environment
