Abstract

Proses belajar mengajar di sekolah hanya menekankan pada aspek mengetahui dan memahami. Aspek analisis, aplikasi, sintesis dan evaluasi jarang sekali dilakukan sehingga mengajarkan siswa dalam belajar hafalan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa menggunakan perangkat pembelajaran berorientasi penyelesaian masalah dengan ujicoba pada 31 siswa SMP dengan rancangan one group pretest-posttest, pengembangan dengan Dick and Carey. Data dianalisis dengan deskriptif kualitatif dengan hasil keterlaksanaan pembelajaran baik (dengan rentang 3-4). Tes hasil belajar siswa dianalisis dengan N-Gain mengalami peningkatan (0.72). Kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dianalisis dengan N-Gain mengalami peningkatan (0.81). Simpulan peneliti bahwa perangkat pembelajaran berorientasi penyelesaian masalah dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMP.

Abstract

Penelitian dari penerapan media pembelajaran biologi menggunakan model Direct Instruction telah dilaksanakan dan diujicobakan pada 30 siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 18 Surabaya dengan menggunakan one group pretest- posttest design. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif dengan hasil sebagai berikut: pembelajaran terlaksana dengan sangat baik; aktivitas siswa tergolong baik; hasil belajar siswa meningkat dan siswa memberikan tanggapan positif terhadap media pembelajaran dan penerapannya. Simpulan penelitian ini adalah penerapan media pembelajaran Biologi SMA menggunakan model Direct Instruction dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

The learning method in Indonesia employed distance learning during the Covid-19 pandemic with the purpose that the Ministry of Education and Culture released a decree number 719/P/2020 on Diagnostic Assessment, of which one was meant to identify misconceptions with the intent that teachers must carry out. Identification of misconceptions needs to be done because it can interfere with the formation of concepts in the next material because there are several concepts that are correlated with other concepts. Cognitive assessment is one tool to recognize students that have misconceptions. The objective of this descriptive evaluative research is to assess the profile of students’ misconceptions and the factors that have contributed to misconceptions faced by students in membrane transport sub materials using the Three Tier Diagnostic Test, and justification of some concepts at the highest misconceptions. The research phase consisted of validation of the test instrument, testing the student using the test instrument, analyzing the outcomes of the sample using a table for grouping students’ conceptions and parameters for deciding the level of misconceptions, and drawing the conclusions. The target of this research is 40 students of State High School 1 Babat in 11th grade that was XI Science 1 and XI Science 2 classes. The findings revealed that the misconception profile of students who understand the concept, do not understand the concept, and have encountered misconceptions were 9.625%; 31.250%; and 59.125% respectively. Students who experienced misconceptions were divided into three criteria for the level of misconception, a namely high misconception by 45.00%, a moderate misconception by 37.50%, and low misconception by 17.50%. Factors that affect the misconceptions faced by students were teacher, teaching method, learning media, students’ textbooks, and including students themselves. This research implies that students experience more misconceptions than understand the concepts. Keywords: Membrane Transport, Misconception Profile, Three Tier Diagnostic Test

Abstract

Bahan ajar berbasis elektronik dibutuhkan dalam pembelajaran jarak jauh secara kontekstual pada masa pandemi covid-19, yaitu dengan pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL). Tuntutan keterampilan juga harus dimiliki siswa pada abad ke-21, salah satunya melalui keterampilan berpikir kreatif yang dapat dicapai dengan pengembangan e-book interaktif materi pertumbuhan dan perkembangan tumbuhan. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan menghasilkan e-book interaktif berorientasi CTL yang valid maupun praktis untuk melatih keterampilan berpikir kreatif. Model pengembangan pada penelitian ini menggunakan 4-D (Define, Design, Develop dan Diseminate), tanpa tahap Diseminate. Validitas e-book interaktif diperoleh dari validasi pakar yaitu 2 dosen ahli (pendidikan dan Biologi) dan 1 guru Biologi SMAN 1 Gondang Mojokerto. Kepraktisan e-book interaktif diperoleh dari uji keterbacaan menggunakan formulasi grafik Fry, angket respons guru yaitu tiga responden guru biologi berbeda sekolah dan angket respons 20 siswa heterogen kelas XII MIPA 4 SMAN 1 Gondang Mojokerto. Analisis data validitas dan kepraktisan yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil analisis e-book interaktif yang dihasilkan diperoleh persentase validitas sebesar 96,54% tergolong kriteria sangat valid. Kepraktisan e-book interaktif diperoleh dari hasil uji keterbacaan yang menunjukkan e-book interaktif sesuai digunakan siswa kelas XII SMA, serta respons guru dan siswa diperoleh persentase kepraktisan secara berurutan sebesar 97,22% dan 99,50% tergolong kriteria sangat valid. Berdasarkan penelitian tersebut, e-book interaktif berorientasi CTL ini dinyatakan valid dan praktis untuk diterapkan pada kegiatan pembelajaran karena mampu melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kreatif pada materi pertumbuhan dan perkembangan tumbuhan. Abstract

Market demanding for corn increases with the years. The greatest request of all types of maize is the sweet corn (Zea mays) talenta variety. However, domestic productions arenot sufficient for this corn. This is due to problems such as corn disease which drastically derailed yields. This disease comes from the category of pathogenic fungi. This study aims to isolate and characterize fungal pathogens in sweet corn leaves (Zea mays) of talenta varieties taken from agricultural land, Ketindan Agricultural Training Center, East Java. This research is an experimental study using Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The insulation method used direct plating and moist chamber. Characterization and identification based on macroscopic characters include: old colony shape, old colony color, old colony texture, young colony shape, young colony color, and young colony texture. Microscopic characters include hyphal wall, type of hyphae branching, presence or absence of septa, presence or absence of clamp connections, sporangium shape, sporangium color, spore shape, spore color. The results of the direct plating method obtained 5 species of pathogenic fungi, including: Helminthosporium sp., Rhizoctonia sp., Peronosclerospora spp., Puccinia sp., And Trichometaspheria sp., While the moist chamber method obtained 2 species of pathogenic fungi, namely: Helminthosporium sp. and Rhizoctonia sp.

Abstract

The widespread consumption of oxo-degradable polyethylene plastics in Indonesia is potentially cause pollution. This problem can be overcome by utilize plastic degrading-bacteria as degradation agent. The present study aims to isolate and characterize of oxo-degradable polyethylene degrading-bacteria from Benowo landfill soil Surabaya. Isolation and screening was done by the culture technique and clear zone method. Total abundance of bacteria was calculated based on the Total Plate Count method. Bacterial colonies screening was done based on morphological characteristics and the diameter of clear zone. Four isolates with the largest diameter of clear zone were futher characterized based on cell morphology and physiology biochemistry characters. The results showed the average of total abundance of oxo-degradable polyethylene degrading-bacteria of Benowo landfill was 1.28 x 104 CFU g-1. The four of twelve isolates with the largest diameter of clear zone was indicated the highest degradation capability, that were isolates A221 (0.7 cm), A231 (1 cm), A232 (0.6 cm), and C231 (1.3 cm). Colony morphology characteristics of four isolates were generally shape of circular and irregular; margin of entire and lobate; elevation of flat; optics of opaque; and pigmentation of yellow, greenish and cream. These four isolates were Gram negative with the shape bacilli and cell size range of 3-4 μm. Physiological and biochemical characteristics among the four isolates were resistant to acidic conditions; non-motile; produce catalase enzyme except A231; capable to reduce glucose and mannitol; uncapable to reduce lactose; capable to produce acids, except A232; produce of 2.3-butanediol; unable reduce sodium malonate; and capable to reduce nitrate, except A232 and C231; as well as producing hydrogen sulfide except A221 and A232. The four isolates has similar properties with the genus Mycobacterium.
