Abstract

Characterization and magnetic behavior test of extracted iron sand from Betaf beach of Sarmi Papua was studied. The purpose of the recearch was to determine minerals content, phase of iron compound, and magnetic behavior of extracted iron sand from Betaf beach of Sarmi Papua were caculate using XRF, XRD and VSM. The result showed that extrated iron sand was contained 43,81% of Iron (Fe), 25,75% of Silika (Si) and 30,44 % others. The XRD pattern showed that the highest peak was magnetite (Fe3O4) at 2= 35,65o. The histerisis curve of VSM showed that extracted iron sand from Betaf beach of Sarmi Papua was superparamagnetic material where maximum saturation magnetization (Ms) value of 4,54 emu/gr, remanen magnetization (Mr) value of 0,371 emu/gr and coercivity field (Hc) value of 208 Oe.

Abstract

A study was conducted to determine and analyze the physical properties of heavy concrete and determine the coefficient of linear absorption of nuclear radiation shielding materials. Methods used in this study is experimental method in the laboratory by making heavy concrete model using a mixture of iron sand in various thicknesses, and then tested for its ability as a radiation shield. The results showed that the weight of concrete using mixture of iron sands produced a compressive strength value of 40.67 MPa, or greater than the weight of concrete without using iron sand which is 20.38 MPa. Coefficient of absorption of heavy concrete materials with iron sand mixture is 0.026 cm, while the heavy concrete without iron sand mixture only has a coefficient of 0.013 cm. HVT values ​​for heavy concrete with iron sand mixture is 26.65 cm, smaller than the concrete without iron sand mixture that is worth up to 53.3 cm. In conclusion, the ability of heavy concrete that uses a mixture of iron sand is better if compared with the nuclear radiation shield from concrete without iron sand. Abstract

The automated library system has been applied to the library of Department of Physics FMIPA Cendrawasih University. An automated library system is a library system by combining software and hardware to generate digital libraries that can be accessed digitally. The purpose of this community service is to apply the SLIMS-7 (Senayan Library Management System-7) Cendana software at the library of  Department of Physics FMIPA Cendrawasih University. The target community of this activity are students and lecturers of Departement of  Physics FMIPA Cenderawasih University. The results show that the library management system is getting better and controllable. Abstract

Berdasarkan data Badan Pusat Statistik Propinsi Papua (2010) tanaman sagu (Metroxylon spp) di Kabupaten Jayapura terdapat 36 jenis dengan luas sebesar 25.488 ha. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menentukan sifat fisika, kadar lignoselulosa, gugus fungsi dan menganalisis pola spektrum X-Ray Diffraksi limbah ampas sagu. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode eksperimen di laboratorium. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, limbah ampas sagu asal Kabupaten Jayapura memiliki kadar air sebesar 10,57 %, kadar abu sebesar 11,50 %, 11,22 % hemiselulosa 58,67 % selulosa dan 8,44 % lignin. Spektrum FTIR sampel menunjukkan adanya serapan Panjang gelombang yang merupakan gugus- gugus fungsi O-H, C-H, C-H2, C-C, C-O dan C-OH, dimana gugus-gugus fungsi tersebut adalah pembentuk senyawa lignoselulosa Pola spektrum XRD sampel memiliki pola yang mirip dengan pola XRD mikrokristalin selulosa standar dengan puncak 2( pada sudut 14,96 (; 17,01(; 18,19 (dan 22,91(. Oleh karena itu, limbah ampas sagu asal Kabupaten Jayapura berpotensi sebagai sumber selulosa partikel.

Abstract

Graphic design is a skill that is much needed today. With the existence of a women's community at the Nies World learning house, it is a good opportunity to open graphic design classes for young women only. Classes will only focus on making desk calendars and wall calendars, both print and digital. The method used is giving lectures related to introductory material and direct practical assistance. Products that were successfully designed by the participants were very good, seen from the type of template chosen, the type of writing, the color of the writing and the selection of images that were appropriate and balanced between existing elements. Some of the best calendars were printed and given back to the participants concerned. With this training, it is hoped that young women can express ideas and be creative in providing their best designs to create quality products. This potential can be beneficial for oneself, as entrepreneurial capital through selling production results or opening design services.
