Abstract

A telecommunication cabinet usually uses a Direct Current fan with a Direct Current motor (DC motor) to make the cabinet temperature does not exceed the temperature that is allowed. Using a DC motor has weaknesses because it always rotates in full speed although the temperature in the cabinet gets down already. It causes inefficiency of the power consumption and the DC motor’s lifetime is not long enough. The prototype of DC motor speed controller controls the speed of a DC motor with the temperature environment as its reference. This circuit is built by a temperature sensor LM35, a microcontroller ATmega16 as the processor that analizes the input from the temperature sensor and relays. This prototype is equipped with a Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) to display the temperature of the cabinet and the DC motor speed. After the prototype is assembled and tested, it is known that the circuit controls a DC motor speed according to the changes of the temperature that has been determined by the software program. The DC motor stops rotating if the temperature sensor senses the temperature below the minimum temperature level. Keywords: DC motor, temperature sensor, LCD, microcontroller

Abstract

Evaluation objectives of inventory information systems at CV. Facilities Telemaxindo was to evaluate the weaknesses of the implementation of internal control, as well as estimating and assessing possible risks that might arise. The research method used is literature study of reference books in the library, and field study consisted of observation, interviews with relevant parties, creating check lists, check the inventory information systems documentation, and testing of inventory application systems. The results are findings of control weaknesses in the implementation of security management, operational management control, boundary control, input control, and output control on the present inventory information system. These weaknesses could pose a risk and if not dealt soon it could hurt the company. The resulting conclusion of the security management control, boundary control, control input, and output control is not running well so that it needs to be improved in accordance with the recommendations, while operational management control has been running fairly well. Keywords: evaluation, information system, inventory

Abstract

Abstract

Andrographis paniculata has been used empirically by people as traditional medicine to treat diabetes. In this study, we correlated the FTIR spectra and α-glucosidase inhibition by using chemometrics analysis to obtain a functional group from the metabolite present in A. paniculata herb exhibited α-glucosidase inhibitory activity. A. paniculata herb powder was extracted using water, ethanol, ethyl acetate, and n-hexane using ultrasonication method. The dried extract obtained was then measured for its FTIR spectra and determined for α-glucosidase inhibitory activity. Absorbance data from the FTIR spectra of A. paniculata herb extracts were used as a principal component analysis (PCA) variable for grouping extract based on the solvent extractor used. In addition, partial least square regression analysis (PLSR) is also used to predict functional groups from metabolites that cause inhibition of α-glucosidase. In the PLSR, we correlated using the FTIR spectrum's absorbance values and IC50 of α-glucosidase inhibitory activity. Before being subjected to PCA and PLSR, the FTIR spectrum was preprocessed using standard normal variate. PCA using the absorbance data from 1800–1000 cm-1 and 2800–3400 cm-1 could group the extract based on extracting solvent used with a cumulative percentage of the two principal components (PC), namely PC-1 and PC-2 are 86%. The PLSR analysis showed that OH, C=O, C=C, and C-O are the predicted functional groups related to the inhibition of α-glucosidase. So, those functional groups are present in the metabolites in A. paniculata herb extracts that contributed to the inhibition of α-glucosidase.
