Abstract

Background: Aging leads to decreased mobility and functional activity due to reduced muscle strength, balance, and endurance. Home exercise is a promising intervention to mitigate this decline. However, the role of endurance as a mediator in enhancing mobility has yet to be explored. Objective: This study analyzes the effectiveness of home physical exercise in improving mobility and functional activity in older adults, emphasizing endurance as a mediating factor. Methods: A systematic literature review (SLR) based on PRISMA guidelines was conducted, analyzing 116 relevant articles from academic databases. Studies were screened and selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, ensuring methodological rigor and relevance to the research topic. Results & Discussion: Findings indicate that home exercise significantly improves endurance, which, in turn, enhances mobility and functional performance. Increased endurance contributes to better movement efficiency, postural stability, reduced fatigue, and independence in daily activities. Key factors influencing the effectiveness of home exercise include the intensity and frequency of workouts, adherence, social support, underlying health conditions, and implementation methods. Despite its benefits, challenges such as physical limitations, lack of motivation, and environmental constraints hinder the sustainability of home exercise programs. Conclusion: Home exercise is an effective strategy for improving mobility in older adults, with endurance playing a crucial mediating role. Future interventions should focus on personalized exercise programs, social support, and technology integration to enhance adherence and maximize benefits.

Abstract

Kata kunci : Jalan Kaki Alam, Mahasiswa, Suasana Hati Forest walking has been recognized as a natural and accessible way to improve mental health. College students may benefit from forest environments due to their high stress and anxiety levels. This systematic review analyzes experimental trials to determine if forest walking improves college students' moods. The study uses PRISMA guidelines by searching articles through electronic databases: PubMed, Scopus, Semantic Scholar, Google Scholar, and Crossref that are published in 2015-2025, experimental research design for college student. Nine articles were selected based on the search results and selection of articles. The results consistently show that brief walking (15-60 minutes) in forests leads to a decrease in tension, depression, anger, fatigue, and confusion, while enhancing vigor and positive emotions. The review emphasizes that both brief and repeated interactions with forest environments can provide considerable mental health advantages, potentially leading to lasting effects. Nonetheless, differences in walking duration and ambient variables suggest more research is needed to establish appropriate exposure time standards. This review highlights the significance of incorporating nature-based interventions into mental health initiatives for students and urban development to enhance psychological well-being. Abstract

Kata Kunci : Pilates, Skoliosis, Systematic Literature Review Scoliosis is a musculoskeletal disorder of the spine characterized by three-dimensional deformities that may lead to postural imbalance, respiratory dysfunction, pain, and reduced quality of life. Therefore, effective and evidence-based conservative interventions are required. This study aimed to explore the effectiveness of the Pilates method in the management of scoliosis and its implications for physical therapy practice. A descriptive exploratory design was employed through a systematic literature review by analyzing secondary data obtained from international scientific articles accessed via Scopus, Google Scholar, and Semantic Scholar databases. Study selection was conducted based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria, resulting in four relevant primary studies that were analyzed descriptively and synthesized according to reported clinical outcomes. The findings indicate that Pilates interventions provide positive effects on multiple clinical parameters, including a reduction in Cobb angle in individuals with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis, improvements in respiratory function and respiratory muscle strength, enhanced postural control and balance, reduced musculoskeletal pain, and improved quality of life, particularly in adult populations. Overall, Pilates may be considered a comprehensive and function-oriented rehabilitation approach within conservative scoliosis management. However, further studies with stronger methodological designs and larger sample sizes are needed to strengthen the existing evidence. Keywords: Pilates, scoliosis, systematic literature review
