Abstract

This study comprehensively examines the role of green finance as a catalyst for sustainable investment in emerging markets, focusing specifically on Indonesia. Employing a quantitative research design integrating panel data regression, propensity score matching, and event study methodologies, this research analyzes the relationship between green finance instruments including green bonds, green loans, and ESG integration and sustainable investment outcomes. The empirical findings demonstrate that access to green finance significantly increases sustainable investment volumes by approximately 15 20%, while ESG integration positively affects corporate financial performance with a one standard deviation increase in ESG scores associated with 0.8 1.2 percentage points ROA improvement. Results validate five key hypotheses linking green finance availability, ESG integration, policy frameworks, sustainable banking practices, and institutional investor behavior to sustainable investment outcomes. The study reveals that policy support through Indonesia's Sustainable Finance Roadmap significantly enhances green bond issuance and lending volumes, while sustainable banking practices enable financial institutions to allocate 12 18% of loan portfolios to green lending. Market responses to green bond issuances present mixed results, indicating investors are still learning about green finance instrument valuation. The research provides substantial practical implications for policymakers, financial institutions, corporations, and investors, emphasizing the importance of comprehensive policy frameworks, ESG integration, and credible disclosure mechanisms in advancing sustainable finance in emerging market contexts.

Abstract

Wood vinegar is a liquid made from steam cooled wood smoke in the sublimation process. Recently, this material is known to be used as a biopesticide, so it does not have side effects that are harmful to the environment, especially for non-target insects. Ambarwati et al (2013) reported that wood vinegar can control cabbage heartworm (Crocidolomia pavonana) and has an effect in accelerating its life cycle. In addition, wood vinegar can also increase the weight of Edamame soybeans almost twice (Ramli et al, 2020) According to Sri Hartati et al (2013) wood vinegar is also able to inhibit the growth of conidium up to 76%. Mustard greens are vegetables that have good commercial value, but the production is fluctuating. One of the factors that influence the fluctuation of mustard greens production is the presence of Spodoptera litura caterpillars. The development of botanical pesticide is needed to substitute chemical pesticide. This research purposed to obtain an effective concentration of wood vinegar and an appropriate application method to control S. litura caterpillars. This research was conducted in the Laboratory of Plant Pest and Diseases Faculty of Agriculture, Sebelas Maret University (UNS) and in Satriyan, Ngrundul, Kebonarum, Klaten starting from May until August 2020. This study was conducted using a completely randomized experimental design (CRD) with two factors. First factor is concentration of wood vinegar from rice husk (0%, 2%, 4%, 8%, dan 16%) and second factor is application method (leaf dipping method and larvae spraying method). The result showed that wood vinegar with various concentrations tested has no effective effect on S. litura and application methods that used have no different effect.

Abstract

The bean fly (Ophiomyia phaseoli) is a major pest of soybean in Indonesia which causes the plants to die early in growth. Most farmers use insecticide synthetics to control this pest. Therefore the alternative control of bean flies is needed to reduce reliance on farmer's usage of chemical pesticides. One of the alternative control is with application of husk ash that has a high silica content. This study examined husk ash to know the effect of husk ash to population and proportion of bean flies attacks. This research conducted in Pengkok Village, Kedawung, Sragen from June - September 2019. The method used was field experiment with a Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD) with one factor, namely the dose of husk ash five levels (0 tons ha-1, 1.25 tons ha-1, 2.5 tons ha-1, 3.75 tons ha-1, and 5 tons ha-1) and five replications. The results showed that the application of husk ash not affected significantly on the adults of the bean fly population, but affected significantly the percentage of attacks only in the cotyledons. The application of rice husk ash can reduce the percentage of attack on the cotyledons by 2.11-3.04% than without husk ash application. The number of plant deaths apparently followed the populations of bean flies. Furthermore, the height of soybean with application looked taller than without application.
