Abstract

Mode of transport waterway river tallo Makasar has been operated since long transports passengers, luggage and a motor vehicle, and the only access mode for the island lakkang people through tallo to kera-kera, the eastern and the southern of Makassar city. In the operation of waterway mode, the owner ignored the shipping safety of waterway. It was proven that there is not any other safety devices above the waterway mode. Shipping safety device is an absolutely thing must be required for sea transportation, rivers and lakes. Hence it is necessary to disseminate the importance of shipping safety device for the owner of the river tallo makassar to increase the quality of service of shipping safety for passengers mode independently in accordance with national and international regulations. The safety of the device is based on land transport minister regulation no. PM 25 years 2015, transportion safety standards on the river lakes and crossing. Disseminate gives users of security and safety and public service quality shipping safety for passengers in the river tallo makassar when sailing and the process of loading and unloading of passengers and a motor vehicle.

Abstract

Process Welding is usually done back and forth to get maximum results; of course, this will save time and increase costs. A medium backing ceramic is used to minimize the time a welder uses and the costs used. In the welding process, it will only partially get good results. Therefore, researchers will look for solutions to problems to maximize better welding. Therefore this research made to know the effect value of useBacking ceramic and not useBacking ceramic against ASTM A36 steel using SMAW welding using elongation calculations. Influence of media use backing ceramic on the strength of the tensile test on ASTM A36 steel using SMAW welding using elongation calculation is known that the highest elongation values were found in specimens that did not use Backing ceramic by 8.80%. At the same time, the lowest elongation value is found in the specimen that uses Backing ceramic by 7.30%.

Abstract

A work accident is an unwanted and unexpected event caused by unplanned factors. One of the factors causing work accidents is personal factors, which include a lack of knowledge, expertise, and motivation, as well as physical and mental problems. Based on the results of previous studies, unsafe behaviour is one of the main causes of work accidents. Therefore, it is necessary to research to determine the relationship between personal factors such as knowledge, skills, and fatigue with unsafe behaviour in welding workers. The purpose of this study is to identify the relationship between personal factors and unsafe behaviour in welding workers in order to find appropriate preventive methods to minimize the occurrence of unsafe practices and work accidents. The results showed a significant relationship between knowledge and unsafe behaviour, with a significance value of 0.001. The correlation coefficient between knowledge and unsafe behaviour is -0.547, which indicates a strong relationship.

Abstract

ASTM A36 steel is a low-carbon steel often used as a general manufacturing material. Tensile testing is one of the most important and dominant mechanical properties in construction design and manufacturing. Each material or material has different properties (hardness, flexibility, etc.). A test is needed to determine a material's mechanical properties. One of the most frequently performed tests is the tensile test. This test has a function to determine the level of strength of a material and to identify the characteristics of the material. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effect of using ceramic backing media in SMAW welding on the value of area reduction in ASTM A36 steel. Based on the test results, the value of the area reduction varies in each specimen. The specimens that did not use ceramic backing had an average area reduction value of 53.51%, while the variation using ceramic backing had an average area reduction value of 61.17%.

Abstract

Subsea pipelines are critical transportation infrastructure for the offshore oil and gas industry. With the increasing construction of undersea pipeline networks and the construction of ports on coastlines, cases often occur where the landing sections of undersea pipelines intersect shipping lanes. Some of the problems faced in underwater pipes include damage to underwater pipes due to shifting and kinking, pipes hitting ship anchors, and pipes being dragged by ship anchors so that they are damaged and broken. Subsea pipelines located in shipping areas or near docks are vulnerable to the effects of falling anchors. Dropping an anchor on a pipe is one of the most severe accidents in the oil and gas industry. Considering that the impact of the anchor drop on the pipe directly affects the safety of the pipe vessel and the cover layer design, this test mainly measures and analyzes the force on the pipe when the anchor is dropped. The main objective of this study is to determine how dimensions and material composition have a significant influence on the protection of underwater pipelines. In this research, a series of discussions were carried out regarding physical model testing to study the dynamic response of a pipe network with various protection methods affected by falling anchors. The results of the two tests show that using flexible pads as a layer to protect underwater pipes is very effective and has minimal impact on underwater pipes if anchors or other heavy objects fall. Applying flexible stone pads can provide the best protection with the lowest strain and length that affects the pipe.

Abstract

Marine pipes are subject to risks that can cause damage to them. These risks include internal corrosion due to corrosive fluids, erosion caused by solid particles in the flowing fluid, external corrosion, and impact by anchors to the pipe's external surface. If damage and leakage occur in the pipeline, in addition to considerable losses in products and significant economic losses, it also causes environmental pollution. Therefore, identifying marine pipe repair methods and knowing the conditions under which each can be applied is essential. From the first days of using marine pipes until now, many methods have been used to repair pipe defects. While all defects remain the same, repair methods continue to improve to reduce time costs and increase safety and operational certainty. The impact levels vary according to damage type, working environment (land and sea), working pressure and temperature, pipe length, fluid, etc. Considering all this and the fact that kilometres of marine pipes exist, It is essential to know and master the various pipe repair methods and master them. Therefore, according to the parameters and methods mentioned in this article, various types of marine pipe repair and necessary equipment have been reviewed.

Abstract

The marine logistics industry faces challenges in improving efficiency, reducing operational costs, and supporting environmental sustainability. One crucial aspect that can be optimized is warehouse management, which is responsible for the storage, handling, and distribution of cargo. This research aims to explore the application of new technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, automation, and green technologies in marine logisticswarehousemanagement. Themethodology used includes a comprehensive literature review, in-depth interviews with industry experts, and analysis of case studies of new technology implementation in marine logistics companies. The results revealed significant opportunities and benefits from the implementation of new technologies, such as improved visibility and real-time monitoring of cargo, optimization of cargo storage and handling, increased productivity and safety, and reduced operational carbon footprint. However, challenges such as initial investment costs, data security, system interoperability, and human resource training needs must be overcome. This research presents a comprehensive implementation strategy, including cost-benefit analysis, development of industry standards, implementation of strict security protocols, and collaboration between industry, government, and standardization bodies.A conceptual framework is developed to provide practical guidance for the marine logistics industry to effectively implement new technologies and optimize their benefits. By adopting new technologies appropriately, the marine logistics industry can improve its competitiveness and global supply chain performance, and support environmental sustainability.
