Abstract

Cara pandang guru terhadap matematika akan berpengaruh terhadap cara pengajarannya. Calon guru sering menganggap bahwa belajar mata kuliah lanjutan pada perguruan tinggi tidak berguna bagi pengajaran mereka nantinya di sekolah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menggali tentang kompetensi apa saja yang dikembangkan dalam diri mahasiswa calon guru selama perkuliahan aljabar abstrak serta bagaimana pemahaman mahasiswa calon guru terhadap pentingnya belajar aljabar abstrak. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Mahasiswa diminta untuk mengamati perkembangan kognitif dalam diri mereka dari setiap pengalaman belajar aljabar abstrak. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket, refleksi dan wawancara mahasiswa. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 90 mahasiswa yang mengikuti mata kuliah aljabar Abstrak. Hasil penelitian diperoleh 1) Secara umum kompetensi matematik mahasiswa semakin berkembang setelah perkuliahan aljabar abstrak melalui pengalaman belajar mahasiswa, 2) Mahasiswa setuju bahwa mata kuliah aljabar abstrak relevan bagi mereka sebagai seorang pendidik di tingkat sekolah dikarenakan dengan belajar aljabar abstrak membuat mahasiswa dapat mengembangkan kompetensi dan konsep-konsep matematika. Penelitian ini memberikan gambaran perlunya belajar konsep matematika yang kompleks bagi seorang calon guru.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to illustrate the application of the problem solving approach to improve the mathematical creative thinking ability of MA students. The research method used was an experiment, where subjects in this population were chosen randomly, namely class XI-IPS 1 and class XI-IPS 2 Ma Al Maa`uun Mande Cianjur. In this research, the researcher gives the same treatment to the subject of the researcher to further know the effect of the treatment is the problem solving approach in the experimental class and conventional learning in the control class. Mathematics learning using the problem solving approach is more effective in the application of the problem solving approach to improve mathematical creative thinking abilities and the independence of MA students there is a comparison compared to ordinary learning. the application of the problem solving approach to improve the mathematical creative thinking ability of MA students is better than ordinary learning. The magnitude of the increase in students' mathematical creative thinking abilities taught by learning mathematics using the problem solving approach is 81 and ordinary learning is 78. The magnitude of the increase in the independence of mathematical learning of students who are taught mathematics learning problem solving is 83 and ordinary learning is 80.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to increase the activeness of students in mathematics learning for students of SMP Negeri 2 Ngamprah in class VIIIA in the even semester of the 2018/2019 school year through the learning strategy of Snowball Throwing. This research is a class action research consisting of two cycles, each cycle consisting of three stages, namely planning, action and observation, and reflection and evaluation. The data obtained in the form of a percentage increase in activity at the end of the first cycle and at the end of the second cycle. The data analysis technique was conducted using an interactive analysis technique. The results showed an increase in student activity. Increased student activity can be seen from the increasing indicators include: 1) the willingness of students to ask before the action 5.55% and after the action 55.55%, 2) the willingness of students to answer questions before the action 11.11% and after the action 72, 22%, 3) the willingness of students to work on exercises in front of the class before the action 0% and after the action 66.66%, 4) the willingness of students to express opinions before the action 0% and after the action 55.55%. Based on the description above it can be concluded that the application of the Snowball Throwing learning strategy in mathematics learning can increase student activity.
