Abstract

Physalis minima L’s leaf contains atropin and skopolamin which possess anti cholinergic effect. Cholinergic agent has constriction effect to the smooth muscle of respiratory tract. In asthma bronchiale there is an airway constriction. This experiment was to observe the effect of Physalis minima L’s ethanol extract on the relaxation of the guinea pig’s trachea’s smooth muscle which was induced with histamin by the method of in vitro. Isolated trachea of 5 male guinea pig’s was used as samples in this experiment. Transducer, amplifier and mac lab computer were used to create  the trachea’s contraction–relaxation curve. The independent variabel was Physalis minima L’s leaf ethanol extract dosage andthe dependent variabel was the trachea’s contraction. 4 dosage of Physalis minima L’s leaf ethanol extract were used (1 control, 3 comparable dosage), the dosage of 0.5 % Physalis minima L’s leaf extract showed significant relaxation of trachea (anova, p<0.05). There was a positive corelation between theincreasing dosage of Physalis minima L’s leaf ethanol extract and the relaxation of trachea (regression, r = 0.770, p< 0.05). The conclusion of this study is that the Physalis minima L’s leaf ethanol extract has positive effect in relaxing isolated trachea of guinea pig’s induced by histamin and there is a positive correlation between increasing dosageof Physalis minima L’s leaf ethanol extract and the relaxation of isolated trachea. Keywords:trachea smooth muscle’s relaxation, histamine, Physalis minima L’s leaf ethanol extract.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The flavonoid content of Curcuma xanthorriza has an anti inflamatory effect. Inflamation is the basic mechanism in the occurrence of indomethacine induced peptic ulcer. The purpose of this research was detect the effect of the administration of Curcuma xanthorriza decoction in reducing the occurrence of indomethacine induced peptic ulcer. The research methodology used post test control group design. Randomly selected sample of 20 male wistar rat were classified into four groups. Group I (positive control, received 30 mg/kg bodyweight indomethacine), group II (dosage 1, received 30 mg/kg bodyweight indomethacine and 1,3 g/kg bodyweight Curcuma xanthorriza  decoction),  group  III  (dosage  2,  received  30  mg/kg  bodyweight  indomethacine  and  2,6  g/kg  bodyweight  Curcuma xanthorriza decoction), and group IV (dosage 3, received 30 mg/kg bodyweight indomethacine and 5,2 g/kg bodyweight Curcuma xanthorriza  decoction).  Indomethacine  and  Curcuma  xanthorriza  was  given  by  intragastric  administration.  The  parameter  to  be measured was the number of macroscopic gastric hemorrage lesion, because gastric hemorrage is the early manifestation of peptic ulcer. The result of this research was there is a significant difference in the number of macroscopic gastric hemorrage lesion between group I and the other three group (F test, p&lt;0,05), and there is no significant difference for those of group II, III, and IV (F test, p&gt;0,05). Conclusion: Curcuma xanthorriza can reduce the occurrence of peptic ulcer. Key words: Indomethacine, Curcuma xanthorriza, Peptic ulcer, Gastric hemorrage lesion

Abstract

ABSTRAKSindrom metabolik adalah sekelompok faktor risiko yang terdiri dari hipertensi, dislipidemia, gangguan intoleransi glukosa dan obesitas dan memiliki hubungan dengan pathomechanism penyakit jantung. Peran jaringan adiposa pada penyakit menular dan perubahan kualitas adipocyte setelah terpapar patogen belum terungkap. Di sisi lain, prevalensi penyakit infeksi di negara berkembang masih tinggi. Beberapa studi melaporkan bahwa ada hubungan antara infeksi T gondii dan fungsi  jaringan  adiposa.  Profilin  adalah  komponen  membran  T  gondii  yang  dapat  merangsang  ekspresi  sitokin proinflammation IL-12 dan lain sel dendrit melalui pengikatan dengan TLR-11. Ini dapat terjadi pada sel-sel lemak, memicu disfungsi adipocyte yang mengarah ke sindrom metabolik. Penelitian sebelumnya telah menyebutkan bahwa sindrom metabolik  yang  berhubungan  dengan  jaringan  lemak  selalu  disebut  lemak  visceral,  sedangkan  lemak  subkutan  juga berpotensi menjadi patogen. Penelitian ini adalah untuk membuktikan pengaruh paparan profilin untuk ekspresi TLR-11, IL-6, dan TNF-dalam kultur jaringan adiposa subkutan yang diukur dengan teknik ELISA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa efek paparan profilin, dosis 5 15 dan 25 ng / ml peningkatan IL-6, dan TNF-tingkat, tetapi menurun tingkat TLR-11 (p = 0,000). Penelitian ini membuktikan paparan profiling menyebabkan disfungsi adipocyte melalui peningkatan tingkat adipocytokine proinflamasi sebagai patomekanisme sindrom metabolik yang berhubungan dengan jaringan adiposa.Kata Kunci : A  profilin Toxoplasma gondii, TLR-11dipocytokines (IL-6, TNF α), adipose subkutan, disfungsi adiposit,
