Abstract

Abstract: The uniqueness of an area is a soul place that will distinguish a location from another location. The historic Kotagede area of Yogyakarta is divided into four road sections, and one of the road sections is the Mondorakan Road. The building on Mondorakan Road originally consisted of a series of palace buildings with a very distinctive facade appearance with three types of building facades. After the earthquake that occurred in 2006, many buildings in this area were destroyed and renovated but did not adjust to the appearance of the original facade, so the uniqueness of the city became blurred. Through this research, it is expected to be able to identify and provide solutions to these conditions. The methods applied are case studies and observations in the field, then analyzed based on previous findings regarding three types of facade displays. The results of the analysis produce outcomes in the form of guidelines in the design process that are expected to be able to maintain the characteristics of an area. Facade reading is an important thing to keep because it can help preserve the soul of a place in this part of the road.Keyword: palace buildings, facade, the soul of a placeAbstrak: Keunikan sebuah kawasan merupakan sebuah jiwa tempat yang akan membedakan suatu lokasi dengan lokasi lain. Kawasan bersejarah Kotagede Yogyakarta terbagi menjadi 4 penggal jalan, dan salah satu penggal jalan tersebut yaitu Jalan Mondorakan. Bangunan di Jalan Mondorakan pada mulanya terdiri dari jajaran bangunan dalem dengan tampilan fasad yang sangat khas dengan tiga tipe fasad bangunan. Pasca gempa yang terjadi tahun 2006, banyak bangunan di area ini yang hancur dan direnovasi namun tidak menyesuaikan dengan tampilan fasad semula, sehingga keunikan kawasan menjadi kabur. Melalui penelitian ini diharapkan mampu mengidentifikasi dan memberi solusi mengenai kondisi tersebut. Metode yang diterapkan yaitu studi kasus dan observasi di lapangan, kemudian dianalisis berdasar temuan sebelumnya mengenai 3 tipe tampilan fasad. Hasil analisis menghasilkan temuan berupa panduan dalam proses perancangan yang diharapkan mampu mempertahankan ciri khas suatu kawasan. Keterbacaan fasad ini menjadi hal penting untuk tetap dipertahankan karena dapat membantu adanya jiwa tempat di penggal jalan ini.Kata Kunci: bangunan dalem, fasad, jiwa tempat

Abstract

Community-based disaster management is an essential strategy for enhancing the resilience of those residing in earthquake-prone regions.  This initiative was undertaken by church communities to aid disaster preparedness by utilizing church facilities as temporary evacuation shelters.  The primary aim was to ascertain the possibilities and fundamental prerequisites for enabling church facilities to function effectively as emergency shelters.  The activities encompassed focus group discussions, direct observations of building conditions, and the development of a preliminary draft for a feasibility evaluation guideline.  Furthermore, geographical capacity mapping and an inventory of accessible basic facilities were completed.  This program establishes a foundation for creating a systematic and participatory evaluation framework, with the objective of enhancing the social function of churches in emergency response activities.

Abstract

Community engagement activities in Sambirejo Village aim to develop a sustainable farming concept rooted in the Lumbung Mataraman tradition while supporting local food security and agritourism potential. The program focuses on formulating the concept and design of an Integrated Farming System (IFS) on a one-hectare site that unifies food crops, horticulture, livestock, and aquaculture within a single operational framework. Core Lumbung Mataraman values—mutual cooperation, food independence, and environmental sustainability—serve as the conceptual basis for designing a community-driven agritourism model. Implementation adopts a participatory approach involving field data collection, initial stakeholder discussions, and collaborative concept development to ensure that local knowledge informs the proposed design. The completed project outputs include a master plan, land-use zoning strategies, and system-integration schemes that outline spatial and functional relationships across farming components. These design documents provide a strategic foundation for future implementation phases. Further activities, such as community outreach, technical training, and the application of appropriate technologies, are recommended to strengthen long-term program impact.

Abstract

Traditional architecture in Lombok holds significant cultural value, particularly through the use of local timber and natural materials. However, lifestyle changes and the declining availability of traditional materials have led to the degradation of traditional buildings. This study responds to these challenges by proposing modifications that enhance structural performance while adopting reversible design principles to maintain cultural integrity. Focusing on the Berugaq structure in Bayan Village, North Lombok, the research aims to develop a sustainable and material-efficient modified Berugaq model that preserves traditional architectural values. A comparative case study method is used to assess traditional and modified Berugaq structures in terms of material efficiency, construction cost, installation practicality, and maintenance. Data collection includes field observations, physical measurements, cultural interviews, and 3D modeling. The findings show that adapting materials and connection systems—such as using standardized timber and practical steel-plate joints (bolt-on)—improves resource efficiency, reduces construction time, and simplifies maintenance without dismantling the entire structure. This study demonstrates how modern materials can be integrated into traditional architecture without compromising cultural meaning, offering a practical approach to preserving cultural heritage.

Abstract

Abstract: Ongoing worldwide awareness regarding waste management has led to creative solutions in the building material sector, such as acoustic panels made from waste-derived components. This paper intends to perform a thorough bibliometric review of the scientific advancements concerning waste-based acoustic panels throughout the last two decades (2004-2024). Utilizing the Scopus database,pertinent documents were methodically chosen via a three-stage screening process, resulting in 98 highly relevant publications for review. The chosen papers included processing with OpenRefine for data cleansing and then analysed using VOSViewer to visualise bibliometric networks and Bibliometrix software for more in-depth analysis.  The findings indicate a notable growth tendency, with an annual publication rise of 16,08 %, notably boosting over the last five years. The geographical distribution reveals a concentration of research in Italy, India, and Spain, with Engineering, Material Science, and Physics and Astronomy identified as the primary contributing fields. Network visualisations depict a sophisticated intellectual framework linking essential concepts within the domain. Well-cited studies confirm that acoustic panels made from waste demonstrate performance comparable tp traditional materials while possesing a reduced environmental footprint; yet, standardisation issues persist, hindering wider adoption in the contruction and inteior design sectors. Keyword: Bibliometric analysis, Waste materials, Acoustic panels Abstrak: Kesadaran dunia yang terus meningkat terkait pengelolaan limbah telah menghasilkan solusi kreatif di sektor bahan bangunan, seperti panel akustik yang terbuat dari komponen yang berasal dari limbah.  Makalah ini bermaksud untuk melakukan tinjauan bibliometrik menyeluruh terhadap kemajuan ilmiah mengenai panel akustik berbasis limbah selama dua dekade terakhir (2004-2024).  Dengan menggunakan database Scopus, dokumen-dokumen terkait dipilih secara metodis melalui proses penyaringan tiga tahap, yang menghasilkan 98 publikasi yang sangat relevan untuk ditinjau.  Makalah yang terpilih kemudian diproses dengan OpenRefine untuk pembersihan data dan kemudian dianalisis menggunakan VOSviewer untuk memvisualisasikan jaringan bibliometrik, dan software Bibliometrix digunakan untuk analisis yang lebih mendalam.  Temuan ini menunjukkan kecenderungan pertumbuhan yang menonjol, dengan peningkatan publikasi tahunan sebesar 16,08%, terutama meningkat selama lima tahun terakhir.  Distribusi geografis menunjukkan konsentrasi penelitian di Italia, India, dan Spanyol, dengan Teknik, Ilmu Material, serta Fisika dan Astronomi diidentifikasi sebagai bidang-bidang yang berkontribusi besar.  Visualisasi jaringan menggambarkan kerangka kerja intelektual yang canggih yang menghubungkan konsep-konsep penting dalam domain tersebut.  Studi yang dikutip dengan baik mengkonfirmasi bahwa panel akustik yang terbuat dari limbah menunjukkan kinerja yang sebanding dengan bahan tradisional sekaligus memiliki jejak lingkungan yang lebih rendah; namun, masalah standarisasi masih ada, sehingga menghambat adopsi yang lebih luas di sektor konstruksi dan desain interior.
