Abstract

Most antimicrobial agents, antifungus or antibacterial have been isolated from plants. Purwoceng (Pimpinella pruatjan Molk.) is one of the potential plants that produced an antibacterial agent. But, the status of purwoceng as an endemic plaint in Central Java is "endangered". The endophytic bacteria of the roots can produce an antibacterial agent. Abstract

Kakao merupakan salah satu komoditas perkebunan yang memiliki peran cukup penting bagi perekonomian Indonesia. Daun kakao yang diperoleh dari hasil pemangkasan dari perkebunan kakao belum dimanfaatkan secara maksimal padahal dapat digunakan dalam pembuatan teh kombucha. Kombucha memiliki khasiat yang sangat berguna bagi tubuh manusia, salah satunya yaitu sebagai antioksidan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi konsentrasi gula terhadap derajat keasaman (pH) dan aktivitas antioksidan kombucha daun kakao (Theobroma cacao. L). Metode yang digunakan dalam pembuatan teh kombucha daun kakao adalah sama dengan metode teh hijau. Kombucha daun kakao difermentasi selama 14 hari dengan variasi konsentrasi gula 7,5%, 10% dan 20% (b/v). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa derajat keasaman (pH) yang dimiliki oleh kombucha daun kakao dengan konsentrasi gula 7,5%, 10% dan 20% (b/v) secara berturut-turut adalah 6,72; 6,71; dan 6,63 serta aktivitas antioksidan tertinggi dan terendah berturut-turut adalah 6,23 pada konsentrasi gula 10% dan 5,49 pada konsentrasi gula 20%. Kombucha daun kakao dengan konsentrasi gula 10% yang difermentasi selama 14 hari memiliki nilai pH optimal dan aktivitas antioksidan tertinggi.

Abstract

Masyarakat yang memiliki pengetahuan yang minim akan bahaya dari sampah plastic akan menyebabkan pencemaran lingkungan baik di udara, darat dan air. Berdasarkan survey awal di Desa Peatoa Kecamatan Loea Kabupaten Kolaka Timur, masih banyak masyarakat yang memiliki pengetahuan rendah terkait pengelolaan sampah plastik dengan benar, kurangnya fasilitas pengangkutan sampah ke TPA serta belum pernahnya diadakan edukasi terkait bahaya sampah pelastik. Peranan stakeholder sangat dibutuhkan dalam menjawab permasalahan tersebut, sehingga kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat untuk cinta lingkungan. Adapun aspek yang diedukasikan kepada masyarakat yaitu pengertian plastik, jenis-jenis plastik, dampak yang ditimbulkan oleh sampah plastik, upaya pengurangan sampah plastik serta memahami metode 3R (Reuse, Reduce, Recycle). Hasil pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan pengetahun sebelum dilakukan edukasi dan setelah dilakukan edukasi sehingga disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan ini efektif dalam meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap lingkungan dengan memahami bahaya sampah plastik.

Cocoa plantation waste (Theobroma cacao L.), cocoa leaves are increasingly abundant, with efforts to increase cocoa production by trimming the shape. The Ladongi sub-district in Kolaka Regency, Southeast Sulawesi, which produces the most cocoa beans, is also not spared from this. Cocoa leaves have not been used optimally, even though their phytochemical components have the potential as antibacterial. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity of cocoa leaf extract (Theobroma cacao L.) against acne-causing  Cutibacterium acnes and Staphylococcus epidermidis. The method used is the disc diffusion method (Kirby Bauer). The results showed that cocoa leaf extract had the potential as an antibacterial against acne-causing bacteria, Cutibacterium acnes, and Staphylococcus epidermidis with respectively the best inhibitory concentration of 25%, 19mm, and 22mm.

Abstract

Water is one of the most basic needs of all living things, including humans. Water is essential for life because it serves as a barometer for the quality of human life, specifically health. Drinking water is safe for human consumption if it meets the physical, microbiological, chemical, and radioactive requirements specified in the mandatory and additional parameters. In microbiology, the mandatory parameter for drinking water quality is a total of 0 coliform bacteria per 100 ml. The purpose of this study is to quantify the content of coliform bacteria in drinking water at refill drinking water depots in Tahoa Village, Kolaka Regency, that meet or do not meet the requirements outlined in Permenkes No. 492 of 2010. Six refill drinking water depots in Tahoa Village, Kolaka Regency, were used as samples. The method used in this descriptive quantitative research is the most probable number (MPN), which consists of a prediction test and a confirmation test. The results revealed that coliform bacteria were present in drinking water samples A, B, C, D, E, and F, with MPN index values of 240/100 ml, 240/100 ml, and 96/100 ml, respectively. Based on the results of 38/100 ml and 240/100 ml, it can be concluded that the drinking water at the refill drinking water depot in Tahoa Village, Kolaka Regency, does not meet the requirements of Permenkes No. 492 of 2010.

Abstract

In the current turbulent era of Society 5.0, the challenges in shaping children's character are increasingly complex. Parenting seminars are one of the media to provide understanding, strategy, and insight to parents regarding the importance of integrating religious values ​​in their children's education. This article explains how parenting seminars can influence participants' knowledge, attitudes, beliefs, implementation, and expectations regarding the formation of religious character. By describing the results of the pretest and post-test, this article illustrates the significant improvement in all of these aspects after attending the seminar. It is hoped that this article can provide insight into the important role of parenting seminars in dealing with the dynamics of children's character education in the modern era which is influenced by technological developments and the values ​​of Society 5.0.
