Abstract

Various ways had been taken to promote the Indonesian culture in conventional media such as magazines, books, and even articles. The receiver generation who had lived in the abundance of technological world of digital media was the next target of inheritance and one way to do it was with the mobile application technology. So, it would be nice if the society started to take a big step to be more focused in the dissemination of culture and pass it following the development of the time, of course, without losing national identity. One of many interesting Indonesian Culture was Topeng Bali (Balinese Mask). Through observation and field research, knowledge about the art of Balinese mask was gathered, and later present it in form of mobile application. This research used the qualitative and quantitative method. The qualitative research was done by collecting data sampling from some of the selected target markets in limited quantities, while quantitative research was done by spreading the questionnaires that will be created and distributed to the main target market but not in the number and selected resource persons. This research finds that the mobile application is deemed appropriate to be one medium that can distribute effectively and efficiently in promoting one of Indonesia culture, Balinese mask.

Article aims at looking clearly about the development of photography industry in the Internet world in general and in web design ini specific. Article discussed how the development of the needs of photography since the early beginning of web 1.0 to the advanced development of downloading process. Without limitation, there will be guarantee that there are lots of web designer having free mind to design different and intriguing web page.

Abstract

After the founding of the Walt Disney Company, animation becomes something necessary in our everyday life. The real power why the animation bigger is the storytelling. Story is the main key why animation is loveable by audiences. This writing will be focusing on the behind reason why the story is important in animation and will be giving some examples the success story of some animation which have a great story to tell. The design methodology focuses on data research, market research and literature book. This writing is a preliminary research because from the author concern, there are not many writings debating whether which part in the development will be focused on to developing some animation projects. This writing hopefully will help people who want to build some animation projects and will guide them to make decision because in order to build some animation project there will be a massive effort to be conducted. Hopefully, in the future, there will be more animation produced from Indonesian. To be an unforgettable work, it must have a great story.

Abstract

Abstrak: Desain Komunikasi Visual merupakan ilmu yang terus bertumbuh. Ia bergeliat dan berinteraksi dengan disiplin lain untuk merespons zaman yang terus berubah, yang kemudian memberi bentuk baru. Kebaruan menjadi sesuatu yang tak terhindari. Ia telah menjadi bagian dari globalisasi yang tak terbendung. Hal ini perlu disikapi dengan cermat, agar ilmu tersebut tidak memangkas budaya yang sudah ada. Ia perlu diseimbangi agar menjadi kaya dan tumbuh berkembang bersama dengan budaya yang sudah ada. Kebudayaan tidak lagi hanya diwakili oleh tradisi atau seni-seni klasik. Agar ia dapat terus hidup, ia harus berubah, membentuk pemaknaan baru yang segar dalam rangkaian budaya lokal sebagai kantong- kantong kecil yang pada akhirnya melestarikan dan memperkuat karakter budaya itu sendiri yang lekang oleh zaman. Penelitian ini diharapkan mampu menyumbang keilmuan baru dalam bidang pembelajaran warna yang terkait dengan kekuatan budaya lokal, yang membangun keilmuan desain itu sendiri sehingga pada akhirnya, dalam jangka waktu yang panjang diharapkan mendorong terbentuknya artefak-artefak desain yang memiliki karakter dan ciri kebudayaan yang kuat. Abstract: Visual Communication Design is a growing discipline. It keeps on working and interacting with other discipline in order to respond the ever-changing era and it finally create a new form. Novelty has become something unavoidable. It has become part of the unstoppable globalization. This needs to be addressed cautiously so that this discipline will not put the existing culture at risk. Culture is not only represented by tradition or classical arts. In order to survive, it needs to change, to form a fresh, new meaning in the framework of local culture as small enclaves that finally will preserve and strengthen the character of the culture itself, which is always relevant to the era. This research is expected to contribute to new discipline in colour learning relating to the power of local culture that in turn will develop the discipline of design itself, and at the end of the day, in the long run, will encourage the creation of design artefacts with strong cultural character and characteristic.

Abstract

AbstractChemistry and Visual Arts Exploration. When we are familiar with the material that already exists, we tend to treat it as it is without trying to comprehend further. We become accustomed with circumstances as it is. It makes us to be less creative. In fact, if we take our time to investigate more on an object that has been interpreted as it is, we will find new things that can help us to ignite new ideas and reconstruct the objects. Creative exploration is the key. By using toner as a new material we will have various opportunity to explore and given a chance to feel imagination, visual and new perspective. It is a research about interdisciplinary of visual art and science and its output in photography media. The method in this research is practice based research with arts and chemistry science interdiscipline. Data collecting method is documentation in papers, photography, audio, and video. The result of this researchis final artworks that using photography medium and printed in glossy paper with doff laminating. The artworks consist of six photography artworks and has been signed in Intellectual Property Rights.AbstrakEksplorasi Visual Seni dan Kimia. Ketika kita terbiasa dengan material yang sudah ada, kita cenderung memperlakukan dengan begitu adanya tanpa mencoba mendalaminya lagi lebih jauh. Kita menjadi terbiasa akan keadaan yang sudah terkondisikan demikian. Hal tersebut menjadikan kita menjadi kurang kreatif dalam mengolah karya. Padahal, jika kita mau meluangkan waktu untuk menyelidiki suatu objek yang sudah dimaknai apa adanya, kita akan menemukan hal baru yang bisa membantu kita mencetus gagasan baru dan merekonstruksikan ulang objek tersebut. Eksplorasi kreatif adalah kuncinya. Dengan mencoba eksplorasi dengan material, berbagai peluang kreativitas terjadi. Eksplorasi material memberikan peluang besar bagi imajinasi, visual dan sudut pandang baru. Penelitian ini akan membahas karya yang dihasilkan dari ekplorasi karya visual seni dan sains dalam bentuk fotografi. Metode yang dilakukan adalah metode penelitian berbasis praktik dengan interdisiplin antara seni dengan ilmu sains cabang kimia. Selain itu digunakan juga teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan dokumentasibaik dengan tulisan, foto, audio, dan video. Hasil penelitian ini adalah karya akhir yang menggunakan media fotografi dan dicetak di atas kertas glossy dilaminasi dengan bahan doff. Karya terdiri dari enam buah karya fotografi yang telah didaftarkan dalam Hak Kekayaan Intelektual.
